As part of a youth cultural exchange program, she had dreamed of this moment for years. However, the weight of representing her heritage in a foreign land left her palms sweaty. Little did she know that this trip would spark an extraordinary musical creation. During a workshop at a local art school, Li met Pierre, a French violinist who was fascinated by her instrument's attractive sound. "It's like the voice of ancient China." he remarked with excitement, gently plucking(拨) the erhu's strings. Inspired by each other's music, they decided to mix the soulful melodies (旋律) of the erhu with the dynamic range of the violin for a performance at the upcoming Bastille Day celebration As they practiced in a sunlit studio overlooking the Seine, Li taught Pierre how to imitate raindrops with quick bow movements on the erhu, while Pierre showed her how to weave Western harmonies into the Chinese folk tune "Jasmine Flower." The integration created a charming soundscape that neither had imagined possible On the performance night, their piece "Silk Road Echoes" received thunderous applause. The audience were amazed at how the erhu's sad tones danced with the violin's vigorous melodies What began as a summer experiment blossomed into lasting friendship and something far greater. Today Li and Pierre co-teach virtual music classes, connecting students in Chengdu and Lyon through weekly "global jam sessions." Their students cooperate on pieces that mix erhu with guitar or Peking opera with jazz. Li ofter tells her pupils, "Music has no borders: it's a language that turns differences into harmonies." When traditions meet with open hearts, they don't conflict: they compose something entirely new 24. Why did Li Mei bring her erhu to Paris? A. To share Chinese music culture. B. Cooperation across cultures generates innovation C A garden constructed with "humble" clay fashioned into 3D-printed bricks has claimed the first green medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for being the most environmentally sustainable design The Chelsea Flower Show, a celebrated global event held annually at Chelsea, London, has been a foundation of the gardening calendar since 1913. It began as a way to show the latest trends in gardening and plant varieties. The Environmental Innovation Award is the first of its sort and goes along with the gold silver and bronze medals awarded to the most attractive and interesting gardens Giulio Giorgi. a first-time Chelsea designer, stated he created the green-medal-winning garden with n concrete. Most gardens contain concrete in some form and the materials they are built from often generate the highest carbon footprint While the employment of pollinator-friendly plants, wild areas and sensible use ofwater are well-knowr easy ways to make a garden more sustainable, Giorgi said it was crucial to focus on the building materials as their carbon footprint was often overlooked "We typically use a lot of metal, glue, cement(水泥) and then all the energy we have to put in to build the gardens. The material in our garden is low-temperature-fired clay, a resource that can be found pretty much everywhere. We made this clay into 3D-printed bricks, connecting ancient tradition with novel practices so carbon emissions are the lowest possible. if any. The bricks, peppered with tiny holes, can absorb water and release it when drought strikes plants." said Giorgi Judges considered end-of-life plans for the gardens and whether materials could be reused. The 3D-printed nature of Giorgi's garden means it can easily be taken apart and put together again. As a result when it is relocated to RHs Garden Wisley, where it will live on after the show as an educational facility, the carbon emissions will be low as no materials will be wasted 28. What do we know about the Chelsea Flower Show? A. It vaues sustainability and appeal B. It aimed to encourage outdoor fitness C. It prohibits concrete in competing gardens D. It has a tradition of advocating for greenness 29. What advantage does clay have over other building materials according to Giorgi? A. It catches fire less easily B. It's more durable and absorbent C. It takes less labor to produce D. It's eco-friendly and more available 30. What will become of Giorgi's garden after the show? A. It'll be sold publicly B. It'll serve as an urban landmark C. It'll be turned into a school. D. Ir'll come into play in another spot 31. What can be the best title for the text? A. Clay Bricks: Recyclable Building Material B. Chelsea Flower Show: Celebration of Gardening C. Garden with Clay Bricks: Winner of Green Medal D. Giulio Giorgi: Designer Enthusiastic about High-Tech D Last weekend, Bruce Springsteen performed at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which is about an hour's drive from where I live. I've been a big fan of his music for ages, but I've never had the chance to see him live in concert. There were still tickets available, and yet I held back. I didn't want to go there alone. I'm an independen woman who's been living alone since I graduated from college. I really enjoy my solo (单独的) time and need it to recharge after a demanding job. I love hanging out with a small group of friends and visiting my brother and his family, but but I hesitate when leisure time involves large crowds, such as concerts or even movies. I don't have social anxiety, so I often wonder why I hesitate when it comes to going somewhere alone A previous study stated that people hesitate about doing things by themselves because they're afraid of how they'll be perceived. The good news is that no one is going to notice that. The reason is the "spotlight effect" which has been tested and proven through the use of bright yellow T-shirts. Students were forced to wear these bright shirts to class and were asked how many students they thought would notice them. The subjects thought, on average, about 5o% of the class would notice them. In reality, fewer than 2o% of the students noticed the shirts. I believe that some activities, such as listening to one's favorite music at a concert, would be greater pleasure if it was a shared experience. However according to some studies, people actually had about as much fun doing fun activities alone as they thought they would be accompanied by friends If enjoying the free time we have depends on finding others to join us, we'll go from having serious FOMO(Fear of missing out) to absolutely MO as people work more hours and have less free time these days. So if I had another chance to go to Bruce's concert, even alone, I would surely go. 32. Why did the author miss Bruce Springsteen's concert A. She desired solo time. B. The ticket was sold out C. She preferred not to attend alone D. The stadium was too far from her home 33. What can we know about the author? A. She enjoys socializing with familiar people B. She suffers from severe social anxiety. C. She prizes family ties over friendships D. She gets bored with her present job 34. What does "the spotlight effect" in paragraph 2 refer to? A. The fear of being judged by others B. The fact that bright clothes attract more attention C. The tendency to focus on what's happening around us D. The belief that we're being noticed more than we really are 35. What does the author aim to do in the last paragraph? A. To express her fondness for Bruce B. To explain the busyness of our daily life C. To encourage people to do activities alone. D. To stress the close relationship between people. We've all been there before- you're in conversation, things are getting along nicely. 36 At that moment. your mind goes complctely blank, you don't know what to say, and you can sense the other person's eyes wandering as they look for someone else to talk to. That scene is terrible, so here are three tips to make sure that you never run out of things to say in conversation again. Firstly, when you find yourself in that situation where your mind has gone blank, play "Reminds Me of'. That just means that you look to the environment around you and say. "You know, that reminds me of..." and then fil in the blank. And it can also work as a follow-up when someone finishes telling a story, which is how many groups of friends interact all the time. Second, when you ask questions, keep them open-ended as often as possible. 38 So rather than saying “Oh, you're from Toronto. Do you like it there?" you might say, "How do you like Toronto? I'm curious to hear more about it." You should get the other person talking about the things that they like, which is going to open up more conversational topics 39 This is the third tip. If you're in a new group and conversation dies after initial pleasantries(玩笑话), a great question is."How do you guys all know one another?" There's almost always some kind of story that conversation can build from. If you're only speaking to one person, you can say instead, "So what's your story?" The great thing about this question is that it is so open-ended that the other person will probably guide you towards new topics, usually responding with something like, "You mean what do I do for work or what do I like to do for fin?" 40 A. Ask them about their exciting plans for the future B. t is great for opening new conversational topics C. Then out of nowhere, the awkward silence occurs. D. You'd better avoid questions inviting a one-word response E. That's because people don't like to talk to others different from themselves F For the worst scene when conversation stops suddenly, use saving questions G. His or her tone and enthusiasm will tell you the best angle of conversation to continue with 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题:每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Before graduation, I asked my adviser for feedback on areas where I could improve. Whenever we had a break, we hung out together. And the more time we spent together, the more we realized how amazingly alike we were. We both liked baking extra-creative cookies, we both had awesome (and sometimes annoying) younger siblings, and we both have the same favorite song and even animal-dolphin Last summer, we went to the Arts and Crafts Fair in our park. There were so many things to see. We didn't know where to begin. We had fun walking aroumd the rows and rows of art booths, clothing racks and knickknack tables. I found the best polka-dot hat, but it cost too much. Kaylie fell in love with a yo-yo,but she looked at the price tag, and yup- it cost too much! To tell you the truth, we were starting to get discouraged. Just as we were about to give up on finding anything we could afford, we came to a table with gobs of gorgeous bracelets (手链) "These are so cool."I said. picking up one with moons and stars. "And look, they're in my price range!" "Please try anything on. The beads (珠子) come from Thailand, and I string each bracelet with love. My name is Tex," the jeweler said with a friendly smile. Then at the same moment, we both saw it! A bracelet with colorful beads shone brightly in the light, including two pink beads in the shape of dolphin, which added a playful touch to the design. It was the only bracelet like it on the table. Reaching for the bracelet together, we'asked Tex if he possibly had any more dolphin bracelets just like this. To our disappointment, that was the last one 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Staring at the bracelet, both of us were hesitant When we both looked at the two dolphin beads in the bracelet, our eyes lit up 第8页共8页 英语试题答案 第一部分听力(共20小题,每小题1.5分,满分30分) 1~5ACACB 6~10CABAC 11~15BACAC 16~20 BBCAC 第二部分阅读理解(共20小题,每小题2.5分,满分50分) 32--35CADC 21-23ABB 24-27 ADDD 28-31ADDC 36-40 CBDFG A 21.从第二:向然段 In one single weekend, student attendees can prove their technology skills in a variety of rT competitions, meet with industry professionals and connect with IT employers providing intermships(实:习 工作) and/or full-time positions 可以得出学生可以获得IT 老板们提供的实习或全职职位,所以答案选A. 22.从表格第4小行中可以得知答案为B. 23.从最后一段中 All rooms have Wi-Fi anda mid-sized refrigerator 可以得知答案为 B. 1 24. 解析: 根据原文, "As part of a youth cultural exchange program, she had dreamed of this moment for years." 李梅作为青年文化交流项目的一部分,多年来一直梦想着这一刻。结合后文她在巴黎与当地艺术学校的互 动,可以推断她带二胡到巴黎是为了分享中国的音乐文化。因此,选项A正确。 25. 解析: 根据原文,"Inspired by each other's music, they decided to mix the soulful melodies of the erhu with the dynamic range of the violin for a performance at the upcoming Bastille Day celebration."两人受到彼此音乐 的启发,决定在即将到来的巴士底日庆典上合作表演。后文又提到他们的合作非常成功,受到了观众的热 烈欢迎。因此,可以推断他们持续合作的原因是彼此音乐的启发和成功的表演,选项D正确。 26. 解析: 根据原文,"The audience were amazed at how the erhu's sad tones danced with the violin's vigorous melodies.” The Chelsea Flower Show, a celebrated global event held annually at Chelsea, London, has been a cornerstone of the gardening calendar since 1913. It began as a way to showcase the latest trends in gardening and plant varieties. The Environmental Innovation Award is the frst of its sort and goes along with the gold silver and bronze medals awarded to the most attractive and interesting gardens", 其意思是"切尔西花展是伦较 切尔西每年举行的一次全球盛事,自1913年以来一直是园艺日历的基石,它最初是为了展示园艺和植物 品种的最新趋势,环境创新奖是首次设立的奖项,与颁发给最具吸引力和最有趣花园的金、银、铜奖一同 颁发”,由此可知,切尔西花展不仅关注花园的吸引力,还设立了环境创新奖,以表彰那些具有环境可持 续性的设计,所以选项A正确。 The material in our garden is low-temperature-fired clay, a resource that can be found pretty much everywhere. We made this clay into 3D-printed bricks, connecting ancient tradition with novel practices so carbon emissions are the lowest possible, if any”,其意思是“我们花园里的材料是低温烧制的粘土,这种资源 几乎随处可见,我们把这种粘土做成3D打印的砖,把古老的传统和新颖的做法结合起来,这样碳排放量 就尽可能低,如果有的话”。由此可知,根据Giorgi的说法,粘土的优势在于它环保且更易获得,所以选 项D正确,其他选项都不是粘土的优势。 30.文中提到"As a result, when it is relocated to RHs Garden Wisley, where it willive on after the show as an educational facility, the carbon emissions will be low as no materials will be wasted", 其意思是"因此,当它撕 迁到RHS花园Wisley时,它将在展览结束后作为教育设施继续存在,由于不会浪费任何材料,碳排放量 将很低”。 There were still tickets available, and yet I held back. I didn't want to go there alone I enjoy spending time with small groups of friends and seeing my brother and his family, but I hesitate when leisure time involves large crowds, such as concerts or even movies , The subjects thought, on average, abou 50% of the class would notice them. In reality, fewer than 20% of the students noticed the shirts. So if had another chance to go to Bruce's concert, even alone, I would surely go. We've all been there before 一you're in conversation, things are getting along nicely. (我们以前都 有 过这样的经历--你在交谈,事情进展得很顺利)”引出交谈中事情进展顺利的情境,后文“Atthat moment, your mind goes completely blank, you don't know what to say, and you can sense the other person's ayes wandering as they look for someone else to talk to. (在那一刻,你的大脑一片空白,你不知道该说什么,你 可 以感觉到对方的眼睛在四处游荡,因为他们在寻找可以说话的人)”具体描述大脑陷入空白,对方想和 其他人交谈的尴尬情况,空处应该是表达突然陷入一种糟糕的情况,因此C项"Thenoutof nowhere, the awkwardsilenceoccurs.(然后不知怎么的,尴尬的沉默出现了)"符合语境,承前启后。故选C。 37. 前 文"That just means that you look to the environment around you and say,"You know, that reminds me ofl."and thenfillin the blank.(这意味着你看看你周围的环境,然后说,“你知道,这让我想起了 ....”. 然后填 补空白)"介绍了“这让我想起了”方法,后文“And it can also work as a follow-up when someone finishes telling a story, which is how many groups of friends interact all the time. (当某人讲完一个故事时,它也 可以作为后续 跟进,这是很多朋友群体一直在互动的方式)"提到这种方法进一步的用处,空处应该是指 出这种方法的第一个作用,因此B项"It's great for opening new conversational topics.(这是开启新的谈话 话题的好方法)”符合语境,承接前文,后文是对其递进,其中的It指代前文描述的方法。故选B。 38. 前文"Second, when you ask questions, keep them open-ended as often as possible. (第二, 当你问问题的时 候,尽可能让它们是开放式的)"建议多问开放式的问题,后文“So rather than saying.“Oh, you're fromToronto Do you like it there?" you might say, "How do you like Toronto? I'm curious to hear more about it."(所以不要 说,“哦,你来自多伦多。 39. 后文"If you're in a new group and conversation dies after initial pleasantries, a great question is, "How do you guys all kmow one another?" There's almost always some kind of story that conversation can build from. If you're only speaking to one person, you can say instead, "So what's your story?"(如果你在一个新群体里,在最 初的寒喧之后,谈话就结束了,一个很好的问题是,“你们是怎么认识彼此的?”几乎总有一些故事可以作 为对话的基础。如果你只和一个人说话,你可以说,“那么你的故事是什么?”)”具体介绍了谈话陷入僵局 时可以使用的通用式的提问,空处位于段首,是段落主旨句,应该是总地建议用一个通用式的提问,因此 F 项"For the worst scenario when conversation stops suddenly, use saving questions. (对于最糟糕的情况,当谈 话突然停止时,使用保留问题)”符合语境,契合后文内容,是后一句中This指代的对象。故选F。 40. 前文"Tf you're only speaking to one person, you can say instead, "So what's your story?" The great thing about this question is that it is so open-ended that the other person willprobably guide you towards new topics usually responding with something like, "You mean what do I do for work or what do I like to do for fun?"(如果 你只和一个人说话,你可以说,“那么你的故事是什么?” His or her tone and enthusiasm will tell you the best angle of conversation to continue with.(他或她的语气和热情会告诉你继续谈话的最佳角度)”符合语境,承接前文。 1. B Carrying her beloved erhu, which had been passed down from her grandmother, 17 - year - old Li Mei from Chengdu stepped off the plane in Paris in July 2024. "It's like the voice of ancient China," he remarked with excitement, gently plucking(拨) the erhu's strings. Inspired by each other's music, they decided to mix the soulful melodies(旋律) of the erhu with the dynamic range of the violin for a performance at the upcoming Bastille Day celebration. As they practiced in a sunlit studio overlooking the Seine, Li taught Pierre how to imitate raindrops with quick bow movements on the erhu, while Pierre showed her how to weave Western harmonies into the Chinese folk tune "Jasmine Flower." The integration created a charming soundscape that neither had imagined possible. On the performance night, their piece "Silk Road Echoes" received thunderous applause. The audience were amazed at how the erhu's sad tones danced with the violin's vigorous melodies. What began as a summer experiment blossomed into lasting friendship and something far greater. Today, Li and Pierre co - teach virtual music classes, connecting students in Chengdu and Lyon through weekly "global jam sessions." Their students cooperate on pieces that mix erhu with guitar or Peking opera with jazz. Li often tells her pupils, "Music has no borders; it's a language that turns differences into harmonies." When traditions meet with open hearts, they don't conflict; they compose something entirely new. 24. Why did Li Mei bring her erhu to Paris? A. To share Chinese music culture. B. To give it to her friend as a present. C. To display it at a local studio. D. To teach students full - time. 25. What caused the first cooperation of Li Mei and Pierre? A. Love for Chinese music. B. Desire to teach music. C. Celebration opportunity. D. Mutual music inspiration. 26. Why was "Silk Road Echoes" well received by the audience? A. It reflected the beauty of nature. B. It featured traditional Chinese folk music. C. It showed instruments perfectly. D. It bridged different civilizations musically. 27. What does the story mainly convey? A. Music is the source of lasting friendship. B. Mastering an instrument requires practice. C. Traditional music resists modern influences. D. Cooperation across cultures generates innovation. C A garden constructed with "humble" clay fashioned into 3D - printed bricks has claimed the first green medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for being the most environmentally sustainable design. The Chelsea Flower Show, a celebrated global event held annually at Chelsea, London, has been a foundation of the gardening calendar since 1913. It began as a way to show the latest trends in gardening and plant varieties. The Environmental Innovation Award is the first of its sort and goes along with the gold, silver and bronze medals awarded to the most attractive and interesting gardens. Giulio Giorgi, a first - time Chelsea designer, stated he created the green - medal - winning garden with no concrete. Most gardens contain concrete in some form and the materials they are built from often generate the highest carbon footprint. While the employment of pollinator - friendly plants, wild areas and sensible use of water are well - known easy ways to make a garden more sustainable, Giorgi said it was crucial to focus on the building materials as their carbon footprint was often overlooked. "We typically use a lot of metal, cement(水泥) and then all the energy we have to put in to build the gardens. The material in our garden is low - temperature - fired clay, a resource that can be found pretty much everywhere. We made this clay into 3D - printed bricks, connecting ancient tradition with novel practices so carbon emissions are the lowest possible, if any. The bricks keep water like a sponge and release it when drought strikes plants," said Giorgi. Judges considered end - of - life plans for the gardens and whether materials could be reused. The 3D - printed nature of Giorgi's garden means it can easily be taken apart and put together again. As a result, when it is relocated to RHS Garden Wisley, where it will live on after the show as an educational facility, the carbon emissions will be low as no materials will be wasted. 28. What do we know about the Chelsea Flower Show? A. It values sustainability and appeal. B. It aimed to encourage outdoor fitness. C. It prohibits concrete in competing gardens. D. It has a tradition of advocating for greenness. 29. What advantage does clay have over other building materials according to Giorgi? A. It catches fire less easily. B. It's more durable and absorbent. C. It takes less labor to produce. D. It's eco - friendly and more available. 30. What will become of Giorgi's garden after the show? A. It'll be sold publicly. B. It'll serve as an urban landmark. C. It'll be turned into a school. D. It'll come into play in another spot. 31. What can be the best title for the text? A. Clay Bricks: Recyclable Building Material B. Chelsea Flower Show: Celebration of Gardening C. Garden with Clay Bricks: Winner of Green Medal D. Giulio Giorgi: Designer Enthusiastic about High - Tech D Last weekend, Bruce Springsteen performed at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which is about an hour's drive from where I live. I've been a big fan of his music for ages, but I've never had the chance to see him live in concert. There were still tickets available, and yet I held back. I didn't want to go there alone. I'm an independent woman who's been living alone since I graduated from college. I really enjoy my solo(单独的) time and need it to recharge after demanding work. I love hanging out with small groups of friends and seeing my brother and his family, but I hesitate when leisure time involves large crowds, such as concerts or even movies. I don't have social anxiety, so I often wonder why I hesitate when it comes to going somewhere alone. A previous study stated that people hesitate about doing things by themselves because they're afraid of how they'll be perceived. The good news is that no one is going to notice that. The reason is the "spotlight effect", which has been tested and proven through the use of bright yellow T - shirts. Students were forced to wear these bright shirts to class and were asked how many students they thought would notice them. The subjects thought, on average, about 50% of the class would notice them. In reality, fewer than 20% of the students noticed the shirts. I believe that some activities, such as listening to one's favorite music at a concert, would be a greater pleasure if it was a shared experience. However, according to some studies, people actually had about as much fun doing fun activities alone as they thought they would be accompanied by friends. If enjoying the free time we have depends on finding others to join us, we'll go from having serious FOMO(Fear of missing out) to absolutely MO as people work more hours and have less free time these days. So if I had another chance to go to Bruce's concert, even alone, I would surely go. 32. Why did the author miss Bruce Springsteen's concert? A. She desired solo time. B. The ticket was sold out. C. She preferred not to attend alone. D. The stadium was too far from her home. 33. What can we know about the author? A. She enjoys socializing with familiar people. B. She suffers from severe social anxiety. C. She prizes family ties over friendships. D. She gets bored with her present job. 34. What does "the spotlight effect" in paragraph 2 refer to? A. The fear of being judged by others. B. The fact that bright clothes attract more attention. C. The tendency to focus on what's happening around us. D. The belief that we're being noticed more than we really are. 35. What does the author aim to do in the last paragraph? A. To express her fondness for Bruce. B. To explain the busyness of our daily life. C. To encourage people to do activities alone. D. To stress the importance of social connections. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 We've all been there before - you're in conversation, things are getting along nicely. 36 At that moment, your mind goes completely blank, you don't know what to say, and you can sense the other person's eyes wandering as they look for someone else to talk to. That scene is terrible, so here are three tips to make sure that you never run out of things to say in conversation again. Firstly, when you find yourself in that situation where your mind has gone blank, play Reminds Me of. That just means that you look to the environment around you and say, "You know, that reminds me of..." and then fill in the blank. 37 And it can also work as a follow - up when someone finishes telling a story, which is how many groups of friends interact all the time. Second, when you ask questions, keep them open - ended as often as possible. 38 So rather than saying "Oh, you're from Toronto. Do you like it there?" you might say "How do you like Toronto? I'm curious to hear more about it." You should get the other person talking about the things that they like, which is going to open up more conversational topics. 39 This is the third tip. If you're in a new group and conversation dies after initial pleasantries(笑话), a great question is, "How do you guys all know one another?" There's almost always some kind of story that conversation can build from. If you're only speaking to one person, you can say instead, "So what's your story?" The great thing about this question is that it is so open - ended that the other person will probably guide you towards new topics, usually responding with something like, "You mean what do I do for work or what do I like to do for fun?" 40 A. Ask them about their exciting plans for the future. B. It's great for opening new conversational topics. C. Then out of nowhere, the awkward silence occurs. D. You'd better avoid questions inviting a one - word response. E. That's because people don't like to talk to others different from themselves. F. For the worst scenario when conversation stops suddenly, use saving questions. G. His or her tone and enthusiasm will tell you the best angle of conversation to continue with. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Before graduation, I asked my adviser for feedback on areas where I could improve. Whenever we had a break, we hung out together. And the more time we spent together, the more we realized how amazingly alike we were. We both liked baking extra - creative cookies, we both had awesome (and sometimes annoying) younger siblings, and we both have the same favorite song and even animal - dolphin. Last summer, we went to the Arts and Crafts Fair in our park. There were so many things to see. We didn't know where to begin. We had fun walking around the rows and rows of art booths, clothing racks and knickknack tables. I found the best polka - dot hat, but it cost too much. Kaylie fell in love with a yo - yo, but she looked at the price tag, and yup - it cost too much. So we were starting to get a little discouraged. As we were about to give up on finding anything we could afford, we came to a table with gobs of gorgeous bracelets (手链). “These are so cool,” I said, picking up one with moons and stars. “And look, they're in my price range.” “Please try anything on. The beads(珠子) come from Thailand, and I string each bracelet with love. My name is Tex,” the jeweler said with a friendly smile. Then at the same moment, we both saw it! A bracelet with colorful beads shone brightly in the light, and among the beads was a pair of small beads in the shape of a dolphin, which had a playful touch to the design. It was the only bracelet like it on the table. Reaching for the bracelet together, we asked Tex if he possibly had any more dolphin bracelets just like this. To our disappointment, that was the last one. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Staring at the bracelet, both of us were hesitant. Obviously, neither of us could bear to put it down because the bracelet was so delicate. After all, it was a dolphin bracelet - just our favourite! However, seeing the eagerness in Kaylie's eyes, I whispered, “It should be yours; it matches your style perfectly.” She shook her head, insisting that I should have it since it was I who found it first. Meanwhile, torn between the two of us, Tex was completely at a loss what to do, standing there helplessly. When we both looked at the two dolphin beads in the bracelet, our eyes lit up. “What if we split the two dolphin beads and each make our own bracelet?” we exclaimed, excitement bubbling. Tex felt relieved, quickly removed one dolphin bead, picked out colorful beads to match it and strung them onto another bracelet. When he handed us our new bracelets, we grinned, realizing it didn't matter who would wear it; what mattered was our friendship and the joy we found in sharing this special moment. From then on, Kaylie and I shared one more thing - a dolphin bracelet! (Text 1) W: Tom, go to the bathroom and help Lisa with the cleaning. M: I'm busy doing my homework now. You could ask Mike. He is now watching TV in the sitting room. (Text 2) M: Do you think you could recognize Tony when you see him again? W: I have no idea. I haven't seen him since he was 16. Time flies. Nine years have passed. (Text 3) W: Do you go out much on the weekends, Sam? M: Not much really. I prefer just staying home and lying watching videos on TV, you know, being really lazy. (Text 4) W: I'm looking for a place to have an art show. I'm really hoping to attract a large audience. M: You should try Fairmont Hotel. It may be expensive to rent, but it's right by the subway. (Text 5) W: I've been wondering what sort of clothes my husband and I are going to need for our visit. What's the weather usually like in your country during September? M: It's not very pleasant, I'm sorry to say. Generally, there are more rainy days in September than in any other month, but at least it's not very cold here then. (Text 6) W: Have you finished the survey? M: Yes. At last I know what people like to do after work. W: How did you carry out the survey? By posting the survey on the Internet? M: No. I did it by asking people questions in the parks or in the pubs or even in the streets. And then we talk about it. W: I believe most people like spending their spare time reading books or taking a walk. M: You're wrong! Most people like watching TV at home instead! Just like you do. (Text 7) W: I heard you've given up sailing. M: Not completely, I still go now and then, but I'm much more interested in surfing nowadays. It's more of a challenge. And I still go out in a boat occasionally. W: I think surfing is really dangerous. When did you begin to show interest in it? M: It was last summer. My friend invited me to go with him. At first I just watched and thought it was difficult to learn. But he kept encouraging me to have a try. So I did it. Now I'm good at it. It can always keep me in high spirits. (Text 8) M: Hi. My wife and I are here for a vacation and we'd like to rent a car. W: All right. Is that for a week? M: No. It'll be for ten days altogether. W: Okay. I have a nice large car available. M: Well, there are just two of us so we don't need such a big car. W: I see. Just you and your wife. Will both of you be driving? M: No, just me. She doesn't have a license. W: Okay. I think I have a nice, new, medium - sized car that just came in. How's that? M: Sounds great. W: Where will you drop it off when you finish? In our company? M: Well, I'll drop it off behind Green Hotel near the airport, if that's okay. W: That's fine. (Text 9) W: Hello? M: Hi, Sandy. This is Mike. What are you up to? W: Oh, hi. Nothing special. Just watching TV. M: But nothing good is on right now. W: I know. It's a replay. I have nothing to do and it's so boring. M: Me too. Let's get together and do something. W: I'd like to, but I have to meet my parents in an hour for dinner. How about tomorrow? M: Fine. Let's plan something tomorrow. W: Have you heard the weather forecast for tomorrow? Will it be rainy or windy? M: I think it's going to be a clear day like today. W: That's great. We can do something outdoors then. M: Are there any special events going on tomorrow? W: Yeah. I think there's a special outdoor concert by the river tomorrow. M: Oh yeah. I heard about that too. Let's go and check it out. W: Do you know what time it starts? M: It starts at 1:00 pm. W: Let's meet for lunch at 11:00 and afterwards, we can head over there. M: Perfect. (Text 10) W: I'm Lucy. I had a terrible experience today. This morning I had just withdrawn $600 from the ATM outside the bank on Dongfang Street. I planned to pay my landlady and get some food at the supermarket on my way home. While I was walking down the street towards the supermarket, someone pushed me from behind and pulled at my shopping bag. He pushed me so hard that I fell forward onto my hands and I broke my wrist. As I was falling, someone grabbed my bag out of my hand. Then I saw a man running past me. He was carrying my bag and dashed away before I could call for help. I didn't get a good look at his face because he was running away from me, but I could tell that he was rather young, with quite short hair. I also noticed that he was short and he had huge arms and shoulders. I know he was wearing a black jacket because I saw his sleeves when he took my bag. I think he had jeans on, but I'm not sure. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
