Camping Whether it’s at a professional campsite, or just in your back garden, taking a weekend away from technology and spending time with loved ones - or just you - can bring you a real sense of freedom. You’ll realize how little you really need. Cooking Class You could go with a friend to ease you in, or make new ‘foodie’ friends there - search for classes in your local area online. Or, if attending a class might be a few steps too far for you, you can still breathe some life into your tried and tested kitchen favorites by exploring new recipes. Clubbercise Group exercise classes can have many benefits, but personally I’ve always found the concept terrifying. But the great thing about Clubbercise classes is that you can enjoy them in the dark! There are no eyes on you if you miss a step, so you can completely let loose and have fun - who doesn’t feel better after dancing? Rock Climbing Rock climbing helps to develop your problem-solving skills as you navigate your way up the wall. Plus, rock climbing is quite an accessible activity. As “seeing the route” is less important than “feeling” your way up or keeping balance, it can be great for those with visual problems. 36. What are you advised to do if you want to go camping? A. Bring some friends with you. B. Take some classes in advance. C. Leave your cellphone at home. D. Explore new ways of cooking. 37. Where are you supposed to learn about cooking classes? A. From friends. B. On the Internet. C. In the neighborhood. D. Through organizations. 38. What kind of activity does Clubbercise include? A. Doing morning workouts outside. B. Taking one-on-one training. C. Observing others’ performance. D. Dancing with people in darkness. 39. Which activity would you suggest to a short-sighted friend? A. Camping. B. Cooking Class. C. A. annoyed B. worried C. confident D. approving 【答案】46. A 47. D 48. C 49. B 50. 根据第一段第一句“People are so busy these days that they hardly have time for small household matters like cleaning the house and windows, gardening, and looking after their babies or old ones.(人们现在太忙了,几乎没有时间做家务,比如打扫房子和窗户、做园艺、照顾婴儿或老人)”与后几句“They wish they could have an Angel who could help them out. Do such Angels really exist? Of course, yes! You just need to find them!(他们希望能有一位天使帮助他们。这样的天使真的存在吗?当然!你只需要找到他们!)”可知,列举例子是为了引出文章的主题——Task Angels的互助服务。故选A。 根据第二段第二句“They can be anyone who is ready to help you in need.(他们可以是任何愿意帮助你的人)”可知,“天使”是愿意帮助别人的人,那么可推知他们需要做好帮助别人的准备。 根据第三段“Task Angels is one of such service providers that provide you with helpful angels who offer services that will not disappoint you at all. Established with the purpose of helping people, this has been playing an important role in domestic cleaning and other services. You may join the team as well if you want to help the people in need and are good at cleaning, gardening, babysitting or even event planning. 根据第三段最后一句“Task Angels definitely waits for you.(Task Angels当然期待你的到来)”及最后一段最后一句“Wouldn’t you like to try its service once and encourage it for its good work?(你不想尝试一下它的服务,并支持下它的良好工作吗?)” 根据最后一段中的“Everyone needs love and care, the more the love and care you share, the more they grow in your family. This is what Task Angels believes. It will help you in the area to make your life easier.(每个人都需要爱和关心,你分享的爱和关心越多,它们在你的家庭中成长得越多。这就是Task Angels所相信的。这将有助于你在这方面使生活更轻松)”可知,作者对于Task Angels是赞赏的。故选D。 第Ⅱ卷 主观题部分 第五题:阅读表达(共5小题,每题2分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文并回答问题,然后将答案写到相应的位置上(请注意问题后的词数要求)。 Dogs are often known as man’s best friend—but in one beautiful instance, a man ended up being a best friend to a group of pets in need after a dangerous situation nearly became tragic (悲惨的). Keith Walker, an Atlanta-based homeless man, could have run in the other direction when he saw local animal shelter W-Underdogs on fire. But he ran towards the fire instead and saved all the animals caught inside, though he was in great danger himself. “I was nervous; I’m not going to lie. I was really scared to go in there with all that smoke. But my heart put me there to save those animals,” Walker said. “If you love a dog, you can love anyone in the world. My dog is my best friend, and I wouldn’t be here without him, so I knew I had to save all those other dogs.” The shelter is currently greatly wrecked by the fire and it couldn’t safely inhabit the dogs, says founder Gracie Hamlin, so all the animals have been safely moved to another shelter. “He is my guardian angel,” Hamlin said. “Even the firefighters didn’t want to deal with the dogs. They called animal control, but Keith was already in the building pulling out the cats and dogs until they were all safe.” Hamlin and Walker had already known each other because Walker, who has been homeless since he was 13, keeps his own dog, a pitbull (斗牛犬) named Bravo, at the shelter every night. In fact, Walker came across the fire when he was on his way to pick up Bravo to take him for a walk. And that was how he was able to rescue all the animals—6 dogs and 10 cats. Before you look down on homeless persons, remember that they are people just like you—and some of them are great, like Keith Walker. 51. What did Walker do when he found the animal shelter on fire? (no more than 12 words) 52. What does the underlined word in Paragraph 5 probably mean? (1 word) 53 What did Walker intend to do at first before coming across the fire? (no more than 10 words) 54. What kind of person is Walker according to the passage? (1 word) 55. What inspiration do you get from the story? Please say it in your own words. (no more than 20 words) 【答案】51. He ran towards the fire and saved all the animals caught inside. Or: He ran into the fire to save all the animals in it. 52. Damaged / Destroyed. 53. To pick up Bravo to take him for a walk. 54. Brave/ Good-hearted/Loving/ Kind. 55. Animals are our best friends, and we should protect them against hurt. Or: Keith Walker is a hero who risked his life to save animals. Or: Don’t look down upon homeless people, because they can also make a great difference. 根据第二段“Keith Walker, an Atlanta-based homeless man, could have run in the other direction when he saw local animal shelter W-Underdogs on fire. But he ran towards the fire instead and saved all the animals caught inside, though he was in great danger himself.(Keith Walker是亚特兰大的一名流浪汉,当他看到当地的动物收容所W-Underdogs着火时,他本可以跑向另一个方向。但是他却跑向火灾现场,救了所有被困在火里的动物,尽管他自己也很危险)”可知,在发现着火时,Walker没有逃跑,而是跑向火灾那里,去救出了被困动物。故答案为He ran towards the fire and saved all the animals caught inside. Or: He ran into the fire to save all the animals in it. 根据划线词所在句子“The shelter is currently greatly wrecked by the fire and it couldn’t safely inhabit the dogs, says founder Gracie Hamlin, so all the animals have been safely moved to another shelter.(该收容所的创始人格雷西·哈姆林说,目前该收容所被大火严重wrecked,无法让狗狗安全地居住,所以所有的动物都已被安全转移到另一个收容所)”可知,动物们目前已经转移到另一个收容所,可知原来的收容所因大火的缘故已经不能居住,应该是屋舍被损坏。 根据倒数第三段“Hamlin and Walker had already known each other because Walker, who has been homeless since he was 13, keeps his own dog, a pitbull (斗牛犬) named Bravo, at the shelter every night. (哈姆林和沃克已经认识了,因为沃克从13岁起就无家可归,他每天晚上都在收容所养自己的狗,一只名叫布拉沃的斗牛犬)”和倒数第二段“In fact, Walker came across the fire when he was on his way to pick up Bravo to take him for a walk. (事实上,沃克是在去接布拉沃去散步的路上遇到火灾的)”可知,沃克自己养了一只狗,他自己无家可归,所以他的狗也只能住在收容所,他每天都去接他出来散步,这天他是去接他的狗散步的时候发现收容所起火了。故答案为To pick up Bravo to take him for a walk. 根据第二段“But he ran towards the fire instead and saved all the animals caught inside, though he was in great danger himself.(但是他却跑向火灾现场,救了所有被困在火里的动物,尽管他自己也很危险)”可知,他知道自己有危险还冲进火场救小动物们,Walker是勇敢的,有爱心的。 Animals are our best friends, and we should protect them against hurt. Or: Keith Walker is a hero who risked his life to save animals. Or: Don’t look down upon homeless people, because they can also make a great difference. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Good morning, boys and girls, My name is LiHua. It’s an honor to be here and to share my thoughts about dreams with you. Do you have a dream? I do! My dream is to become a teacher, which has been inspiring me for years. There are mainly two reasons. First of all, I have a passion for sharing knowledge. What’s more, teachers can have a huge impact on students’ lives, guiding them to a bright future. To reach my goal, I’m taking action. On one hand, I focus on my studies to gain knowledge. On the other hand, I seize every chance to get related experience. I know there will be difficulties, but I’ll never give up. As the saying goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” I believe my dream will come true if I keep trying. Plus rock climbing is quite an accessible activity. 38 What kind of activity does Clubbercise include? A. Doing morning workouts outside. B. Taking one-on-one training. C. Observing others’ performance. D. Dancing with people in darkness. 39. Which activity would you suggest to a short-sighted friend? A. Camping. B. Cooking Class. C. Clubbercise D. Rock Climbing. 40. What is the purpose of the text? A. To report. B. To educate. C. To discuss. D. To recommend. B Yesterday after work, the boss told me I was fired. When I walked along a riverbed sadly, I suddenly realized it was New Year’s Day, a day to start afresh. I passed by a man holding his son, one or two years old. The baby’s face was in pure joy, and his innocent eyes were full of wonder. The simple sweetness of the baby made me moved. Walking on, I saw a young couple repairing their bicycle. They smiled at me and said, “Happy New Year!” I smiled and wished them the same. It was a simple thing, but for a moment it brought me a sudden joy. I kept walking, enjoying the cheerful singing of birds. With people around laughing out loud, an old woman immersed herself in her sewing. She didn’t seem either happy or sad. A feeling of timeless peace flowed through me and all fear of what the future might bring disappeared. I thanked her in my heart, and moved on. As I reached home, I was filled with great thanks and hope for life, which took me a long time to find. Actually, happiness could be simple and easy. Now I knew whatever the New Year would bring, there would be joy and enough love to help me through the hard times we all had to face. “Happy New Year!” I said to myself. 41. What did the writer’s boss tell him after work? A. It was New Year’s Day. B. He was fired. C. He needed a day to relax. D. He had a day off. 42. When seeing the little baby, the writer was moved by his ________. A. age B. laughing C. innocence D. crying 43. When the writer saw the young couple, they were ________. A. repairing their bicycle B. waiting for the writer C. watching the passers-by D. celebrating the New Year 44. How did the writer feel when he saw the old woman? A. Lucky. B. Hopeless. C. Fearful. D. Thankful. 45 What can we learn from the passage? A. Greetings make people polite. B. Happiness could be simple and easy. C. Walking makes people energetic. D. Friendship lies in getting together. C People are so busy these days that they hardly have time for small household matters like cleaning the house and windows, gardening, and looking after their babies or old ones. It is really difficult for them to manage between their households and professional life. They wish they could have an Angel who could help them out. Do such Angels really exist? Of course, yes! You just need to find them! Angels don’t need to have wings and a halo (光环). They can be anyone who is ready to help you in need. And in this fast-paced world when everyone is so busy, such people who help you are really no less than angels. Your life would be definitely wonderful if you could find an angel doing cleaning for you. There are definitely various service providers who can easily provide you with such angels. Won’t you just take it if you can get all these services from one single provider? Task Angels is one of such service providers that provide you with helpful angels who offer services that will not disappoint you at all. Established with the purpose of helping people, this has been playing an important role in domestic cleaning and other services. You may join the team as well if you want to help the people in need and are good at cleaning, gardening, babysitting or even event planning. Task Angels definitely waits for you. Everyone needs love and care, the more the love and care you share, the more they grow in your family. This is what Task Angels believes. It will help you in the area to make your life easier. Wouldn’t you like to try its service once and encourage it for its good work? 46. Examples in Paragraph 1 are taken to ________.
