为什么奥运会游泳运动员要戴两顶泳帽?
One
of
the
most
interesting
moments
during
the
opening
week
of
competition
at
Paris
2024
happened
in
the
pool.
It
saw
a
middle-aged
volunteer
dressed
in
colourful
swimming
trunks
jump
into
the
water
to
pick
up
a
lost
swimming
cap.
1.
The
cap
was
believed
to
belong
to
the
swimmer
Emma
Weber
from
the
US.
However,
when
the
camera
pointed
to
the
American,
Weber
was
stil
wearing
a
cap.This
is
because
Olympic
swimmers
usualy
wear
a
few
caps
when
competing.
2.
You
might
think
that
the
simple
answer
is:
in
case
one
of
them
fals
off.
3.
There
are
two
main
reasons
why
Olympic
swimmers
wear
two—or
sometimes
more—caps.
4.
As
wel
as
adding
additional
tightness(紧度),
a
second
swimming
cap
can
help
cover
the
exposed
straps(暴露的带子)
around
the
goggles(护目镜).
As
a
result,
it
can
make
the
athlete
more
streamlined.
5.
Most
athletes
wil
sit
their
goggles
on
a
swimming
cap
made
from
latex(乳胶),
then
they
wil
add
a
silicone(硅胶)
cap
on
top.
The
friction(摩 擦)
between
the
silicone
and
the
latex
should,
in
theory,
make
it
much
less
likely
for
the
top
cap
to
fal
off.

一辆充满爱心的自行车
Afzal
was
Naseems
only
son
and
a
student
in
my
school
too.
Afzals
mother,
Naseem,
puled
up
her
chair
next
to
mine
and
gently
asked,
“Tel
me
about
your
routine,
right
from
the
time
you
wake
up
in
the
morning.”
I
wasnt
sure
why
she
wanted
to
know,
but
I
told
her
about
my
morning
part-time
job
in
a
few
words.
As
I
spoke
to
her,
I
noticed
Mr
Kader
filing
up
my
plate
with
fruit
salad.
I
protested,
but
he
carried
on.
It
was
a
big
breakfast,
one
that
brought
back
memories
of
happy
days
spent
with
my
parents
and
sisters.
Later,
as
I
was
about
to
leave
after
thanking
them,
Mr
Kader
asked
me
to
wait
and
stepped
inside
the
house.
Meanwhile,
his
wife,
Naseem,
asked
me,
“ ▲ ”
I
replied,
“A
little
more
than
11
kilometres.”
My
reply
shocked
her.
At
that
moment,
I
saw
Mr
Kader
appear
again,
riding
a
new
bicycle.
It
was
a
Hercules,
a
famous
brand(品
牌),
quite
expensive
in
India
at
that
time.
“This
is
for
you!”
he
said.
“But
I
have
no
money
to
pay
for
it,”
I
cried.
Afzals
mother
put
her
arm
around
my
shoulders,
gave
a
gentle
squeeze(捏)
and
said,
“Who
is
asking
you
to
pay
for
it,
my
son?”
It
took
a
few
seconds
for
the
kind
words
to
sink
in.
It
felt
warm,
as
if
my
mother
were
there
for
me.
I
didnt
even
realise
that
my
eyes
became
wet,
and
that
tears
were
running
down
my
face.
She
wiped
my
tears
and
held
me
closer.
Mr
Kader
said,
“Your
headmaster
is
a
friend
of
mine.
He
gave
me
your
address,
so
I
knew
you
lived
close
by.
Then
Afzal
told
us
more
about
you.”
Shocked,
I
asked
Afzal
how
he
knew
so
much
about
me.
His
reply
surprised
me.
“Everybody,
not
just
in
school
but
the
whole
of
Kachiguda,
does!”
he
said.
So
it
was
possible
for
people
to
be
curious
about
someones
difficulties,
but
there
were
people
like
Afzals
parents
too.
I
thanked
them,
shook
hands
with
Afzal
and
left.
This
time
I
did
not
have
to
walk—I
had
the
bicycle.
The
bicycle
changed
my
life
for
many
years
thereafter.
Whats
more,
this
event
taught
me
an
important
lesson
that
has
stayed
with
me
al
my
life:
Help
should
always
be
need-based.
Never
try
to
feed
a
person
who
is
dying
of
thirst.
