Introducing the NDS (Ninja Double Stack) XL Air Fryer. This double air fryer towers above the rest, with 2 vertical stacked drawers (纵向堆叠抽屉) that do not need as much space on your worktop as traditional side-by-side 2-drawer air fryers. Now — you can mix and match 6 cooking functions, cooking times and temperatures across 2 individually-controlled drawers, and have all your food ready at the same time — even in smaller kitchen spaces! It can cook four layers of food — thanks to the two large drawers. Rally, one five star rater said, “this is perfect if you’re short of worktop space. It replaces my 9-in-1 air fryer and has the same quality.” Rose described it as the “best in the market,” and added, “love absolutely everything about this model. To provide some suggestions. D. To introduce two characters. B Suzanne Heywood was just seven years old when her parents told her she, along with her younger brother Jonathan, would be pulled out of school to go on a three-year voyage around the world. The family of four from the UK set out on their exploration to recreate Captain Cook’s voyage around the globe, which ended up taking a decade instead of the promised three years. Now 55 years old, Suzanne has shared her tale of survival on TikTok, and recalled her 10 years at sea in her tell-all memoir (回忆录) Wave Walker. “I spent that time trapped on a boat, unable to go to school or have normal friendships.” Despite her father assuring her the trip would be safe, Suzanne claimed it was “incredibly dangerous but great as well”, sharing details of a risky journey from South Africa to Australia where the boat hit an enormous storm. In order to get through her very strange childhood, Suzanne recalled how she was determined to get an education to live a normal life. “As it became clear my parents had no intention of going back, I decided I had to educate myself as it was the only lifeline that I had,” she told the hosts of The Morning Show. She began studying in the small cabin of the boat, which she found challenging both practically and academically, as she “had missed a lot of education”. Then, when she was 16, and her brother 15, her parents enrolled (注册) the two teenagers into a school in New Zealand while they continued sailing. Despite the gaps in her education, Suzanne landed a spot at Oxford University, and after saving up money she’ d earned working on a farm, Suzanne bought a one-way plane ticket back to the UK. Since going public with her story, Suzanne’s book instantly became a bestseller, and she continues to work through the trauma (创伤) caused by her “unstable” childhood. Suzanne’s extraordinary tale has captured the hearts of millions, with thousands of online fans applauding her for her bravery. 4. Why did Suzanne’s family set out their voyage? A. To meet the challenges of their life. B. To realize the dream of family traveling. C. To admire the beauty of great oceans. D. To follow in the footsteps of a great explorer. 5. What did education mean to Suzanne during the voyage? A. An approach to pleasing her parents. B. A tool for killing time on the vast sea. C. A means of struggling for a better future. D. A support of her admission into Oxford University. 6 What message does Suzanne’s experience convey? A. A strong will can free a person from family support. B. A lack of education can affect a person’s intelligence. C. A unique life can equip a person with special qualities. D. A crazy upbringing always leads to greater achievements. 7. What’s the author’s purpose of writing the text? A. To analyze the impact of family decisions and give warnings. B. To record Suzanne’s remarkable life journey and inspire others. C. To evaluate Suzanne’s educational achievements and praise her. D. To promote Suzanne’s memoir Wave Walker and excite readers. C Statistics show that the market value of global Extended Reality (XR) industry has gone beyond $20.4 billion. XR, an umbrella term including technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR), refers to real-and-virtual combined environments and human-machine interactions generated by wearable devices and computer technology. As XR technologies become more mature, they have been gradually applied in more scenarios (场景) that are closely related to the daily life of ordinary people, and have seen new consumer markets in recent years. The application of XR technologies has made it possible for users to “travel to the past” and “wander in the universe” through virtual trips. An XR experience store in Shenzhen, recently launched a program e for citizens, which involved digital tours to the Jurassic period (侏罗纪) and outer space. XR technologies have also been integrated into the application scenarios concerning smart tourism projects. XR technologies can help tourist attractions launch systems that enable visitors to better learn about faraway places and remote times in immersive (沉浸式的) scenes, as well as tourist guide systems and other systems that bring wonderful experiences for visitors through VR or AR glasses, mobile apps and browsers. Compared with offline tours, scenarios reproduced by XR technologies can enrich the experiences of users. China’s Spring Festival Gala last year adopted XR technologies, enabling singers who couldn’t be present at the gala to give performances remotely. The XR industry is full of possibilities, and the 5G technology is considered a catalyst (催化剂) for further stimulating its potential. Last January, the branch of China Mobile, a major Chinese telecommunications operator in Zhengzhou, built the province’s first “5G+XR” commercial complex in shopping mall. Industry insiders pointed out that with constant progress being made in the large-scale deployment of the 5G network and its innovative applications, the “5G+XR” model is producing a large number of new application scenarios including social networking, office work, entertainment, exhibition and education, which will provide broad development space for the XR industry. 8. What is paragraph 1 mainly about? A. The historical development of XR technologies. B. The XR technologies and their commercial value. C. The challenges faced by the XR industry in the global market. D. The comparison between XR and other emerging technologies. 9. How does XR help in daily life? A. Help visitors better plan their travel routes. B. Take users to travel in outer space in person. C. Let singers in different places share the same stage. D Make tourist attractions more environmentally friendly. 10. What can be inferred from the passage about the “5G+XR” model? A. It has been widely used in Zhengzhou. B. It will lead to more people to fail to socialize. C. It will create many new opportunities for people. D. It has made traditional shopping malls disappear. 11. How does the writer introduce the use of XR technologies in the text? A. By listing data. B. By giving examples. C. By making comparisons. D. By explaining reasons. D Evolution can perform spectacular changes. But some organisms like the coelacanth, a modern-day fish, seem to change very little over eras. Scientists have long wondered how these species withstand the pressures of natural selection. The current theory for this “stasis paradox (停滞悖论)” is that stabilizing selection, which favors moderate features, keeps some species unchanged, unlike directional selection that causes change. However, a study published in the PNAS contradicts this idea, showing that evolution constantly favors different features in seemingly unchanging animals that improve short-term survival. In the long term, though, “all that evolution cancels out and leads to no change,” says the study’s lead author, James Stroud, a biologist at the Georgia Institute. Stroud and his colleagues studied four anole lizard(变色龙蜥蜴) species, all relatively unchanged for 20 million years, living on a small island in Florida. The researchers captured members of these populations every six months for three years. They measured each lizard’s head size, leg length, mass and height, as well as the size of its sticky toe pads, noting which individuals survived. Stroud expected to observe stabilizing selection at work preserving moderate features. Instead he saw clearer evidence of directional selection: some lizards with unique features, such as stickier toes survived better in the short term. In each generation, though, the best features changed — for instance, long legs aided survival in some years and short legs in others. The direction and strength of selection swung so much that sometimes there was no clear pattern. Because the new study shows that natural selection favored extreme features from year to year rather than moderate ones, its results don’t support the theory of stabilizing selection. Many new features are evolving in the short term, but they don’t provide a crucial advantage over the long term. In other words, species in stasis may simply have found the best possible combination of features for lasting success in their environment. So what happens when a static(静态的) species environment changes more dramatically? To help answer this bigger question, Stroud is still making trips to Florida to follow ever more generations of the lizards. 12. What is “stasis paradox” according to the text? A. Directional selection keeps some species unchanged. B. Some species change rapidly while others remain unchanged. C. Some species seem free from the pressures of natural selection. D. Stabilizing selection prefers extreme features keeping species changed. 13. What did Stroud and his colleagues do in the study of anole lizards? A. Comparing different lizard species and studying their fossils. B. Studying various features of lizards and their survival. C. Measuring the survival rate of lizards every year. D. Focusing on the living conditions of lizards. 14. What did Stroud find in the study of anole lizards? A. Some features of lizards changed in a short term. B. Stabilizing selection played a key role in evolution. C. Many evolved new features can offer a lasting benefit. D Sharp environment changes caused great effects on lizards. 15. Which can be a suitable title for the text? A. Stabilizing Selection: The Key to Species Stasis. B. Stasis Paradox: The Traditional Theory Proven Right. C. Directional Selection: The Dominant Force in Species Evolution. D. Rethinking Stasis Paradox: Insights from Anole Lizard Studies. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Xena Biffert, a district science consultant, started to do a lot of backward planning when taking students outside to meet curricular (课程的) outcomes. This approach allows curriculum connection and encourages students’ focus and interest to lead the way. Here are four tips for practicing backward planning with your students. ___16___ Know your curriculum. Many topics arise organically, and you can cover them through mini-lessons along the way. One way to deepen that knowledge is to print it out and make a habit of reviewing it daily. ___17___ First, you develop a familiarity with it. Second, you can see where you can make that connection naturally where the students’ interests meet. Begin the year with a learning plan and a mind map. Having guiding questions has helped Xena form and follow a plan for the year. ___18___ For example, “How are we all interconnected?” and “What is our story?” She can assess outcomes using this plan throughout the school year. Get students outside regularly. ___19___. This culture creates an opportunity to form and answer questions about what happens outdoors and how it connects to other topics. As the emergent learning arises and there is daily reflection on it, knowledge and understanding emerge. Through this intentional work and reflection, teachers will be well equipped to answer questions in the process. ___20___ It is important for students to reflect on their observations. We often don’t get time to reflect in our fast-paced classrooms. Often, reflection is combined with assessment. An easy starting point is journaling, because it is a thought process accessible to students in every grade. A. Outside learning builds a culture. B. Work out a plan for regular journaling. C. Make time for student reflection like journaling. D. Such guiding questions often arise in the backward planning. E. These may allow you greater flexibility to do outdoor learning. F. Her reasoning for looking at the curriculum every day is twofold. G. Her days were in a rush of classes, part-time shifts, and struggling to realize her dream of becoming an artist. Despite her tight schedule, Emma’s firm commitment meant she never missed a day of work. One particular day, though, would prove to be unlike any other. Emma’s workday typically began at 3 pm and ended around 10 pm. That day progressed like any other until Emma found herself with just an hour left before her first break. Then a weary-looking mother arrived at the checkout with her son and a grocery cart. The mother appeared tired, with sleepy eyes and untidy hair. Emma greeted her with a warm smile, “Have you had a long day?” The mother responded with a smile, saying, “Yes, it’s been a tiring one. This little one requested lasagna (千层面) for lunch, and I found we were out of food.” The woman explained that her five-year-old son, Tristan, was the man of the house, and his younger brother was in hospital, putting an emotional weight on him. Emma couldn’t help but empathize, recalling her own experiences as a child with a sick brother. Emma asked Tristan for his name, and as he cheerfully replied, “Tristan”, Emma presented him with a lollipop (棒棒糖). She ran it through the register to ring it up before handing it to the delighted young boy. What Emma hadn’t noticed during her initial scan of the woman’s items was the growing excitement on Tristan’s face as each beep (滴滴声) from the register resounded. Eager and enthusiastic, he asked, “Can I help? Can I help?” Emma’s heartwarming response was, “Of course!” She lifted Tristan to her workstation, teaching him how to ring up groceries. Unknown to Emma, Tristan’s mother took a photo of their interaction, capturing her son’s pure joy in a moment frozen in time. Moved to tears, she took more photos of Emma and Tristan at work and expressed her gratitude before leaving. 注意: 1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph1: A few days later, a friend called Emma that she was trending on Facebook. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph2: Unexpectedly, this simple act transformed Emma’s life. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$可学科网可组卷网 高三英语 第一部分听力(共两节,满分30分) 做题时,先将答案标在试卷上。录音内容结束后,你将有两分钟的时间将试卷上的答案转涂 到答题卡上。 第一节(共5小题:每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。 听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。 1.How will the man pay this time? In each generation, though, the best features changed-for instance, long legs aided survival in some years and short legs in others. The direction and strength of selection swung so much that sometimes there was no clear pattern. Because the new study shows that natural selection favored extreme features from year to year rather than moderate ones, its results don't support the theory of stabilizing selection. Many new features are evolving in the short term, but they don't provide a crucial advantage over the long term.In other words, species in stasis may 第10页共24页
