In my view, paying kids for chores is not a good idea. After giving it much thought, I firmly hold this stance.​

To begin with, household chores are an essential part of family life. When children share in these tasks, they understand that contributing to the family is their duty, not something for monetary gain. For instance, cleaning the living room or washing dishes helps them feel they are part of the family unit. Secondly, if kids are paid for every chore, they might form a wrong concept. They could start to think that they should only do things when there's money involved. Instead, we should inspire them out of love and a sense of duty. This way, they will grow up with a healthy attitude towards helping others.​

In short, unpaid chores are far better for children's growth. It helps them develop a strong sense of responsibility, which is crucial for their future.​
