一、连词分类与用法

1. 并列连词（连接平行成分或句子）

表并列：and, both...and..., not only...but also... 

      He likes apples and bananas. 

      Both my sister and I enjoy swimming. 

表转折：but, yet, while 

      It was raining, but we went out. 

      He is quiet, while his brother is talkative. 

表选择：or, either...or..., neither...nor... 

      Hurry up, or you'll be late. 

      NeitherTom nor I have been to Paris. 

表因果：so, for 

      She studied hard, so she passed the exam. 

      He must be tired, for he worked all day. 

2. 从属连词（引导从句） 

时间状语从句：when, while, as, before, after, until, since 

      I was reading when the phone rang. 

      Wait here until I come back. 

条件状语从句：if, unless, as long as 

      If it rains, we'll stay at home. 

      You can't succeed unless you try.

原因状语从句：because, since, as 

      He didn't go to school because he was ill.

让步状语从句：although, though, even if 

      Although it was cold, he went out without a coat. 

目的/结果状语从句：so that, so...that..., such...that... 

      She spoke loudly so that everyone could hear.

比较状语从句：than, as...as... 

       Math is as important as English. 

二、高频考点与易错点

1. 并列连词必须连接相同结构： 

       错误：He likes swimming and to play basketball. 

       正确：He likes swimming and playing basketball. 

2. although/though 不与 but 连用： 

       错误：Although he is young, but he knows a lot. 

       正确：Although he is young, he knows a lot. 

3. because 不与 so 连用： 

       错误：Because he was ill, so he stayed home.

       正确：Because he was ill, he stayed home. 

4. if 引导条件句，用一般现在时代替将来时： 

       错误：If it will rain, we won't go.
