B Ma Long, born in Anshan, Liaoning, the “home of table tennis”, was sent by his father to practice table tennis when he was 5 years old. At 15, Ma Long joined the national team and was the least talkative boy of the players. His character was as outstanding as his overall strength. In 2006, at 18, Ma Long won his first team world championship and was seen as hope for the next generation in the national team. Behind early fame of the genius is Ma Long’s almost paranoid harshness towards himself. Ma Long’s daily routine throughout four seasons was a two-point line between the dormitory and the training hall, and he was the first to arrive and the last to leave every day. He had been doing so for ten years, monotonously and repetitively. Liu Guoliang once said, “I went to the table tennis hall on a Sunday morning for an unannounced inspection to see how many players were training on Sunday. Only one person in the men’s first team was there... A genius is not your fear; your fear is that a genius works harder than you do.” Such a genius is Ma Long. However, after joining the team for nearly a decade, he suffered various types of failure, and thus was questioned by everyone. In the 2014 Men’s World Cup(Ms-Final), Ma Long was defeated by Zhang Jike. “Everything will be denied without a championship.” Ma Long, who is very strict with himself, was under pressure and torment that others couldn’t imagine. At the lowest point, Ma Long had the idea of retiring. But he was unwilling to just “disappear”. In the Suzhou 2015 World Championships, Ma Long crowned his career, winning the singles champion, and it had been ten years since he won a world championship last time. The title seemed to give him new prospect and he has been unstoppable and won many titles ever since including winning the Olympic title. The most perfect ending for an athlete is to be successful and retire with fame. But Ma Long does not want to follow suit. He does have the ambition to go down in history. He wants people to know Ma Long when they mention table tennis in the future. He did so a long time ago, and continues to do so. 4. What do we know about Ma Long’s daily training? A. He was casual with his schedule. B. He was extremely hard on himself. C. He preferred to train at the dormitory. D. He was always the first to leave training. 5. What can we infer from Liu Guoliang’s words? A. Ma Long was fearfully talented. B. Ma Long’s hard work finally paid off. C. Ma Long focused on socializing with other players. D. Ma Long’s diligence was more awesome than his talent. 6. What does the underlined word “torment” mean in paragraph 3? A. Misery B. Desperation C. Determination D. Madness 7. Which of the following best describes Ma Long? A. Ambitious and humorous. B. Outstanding and outgoing. C. Hardworking and persistent. D. Considerate and enthusiastic. C In 1973, when Melissa Greene was in 6th grade, her parents bought the first flat on Hutchinson Island. The first time she ran down to the wild shore, she was shocked by the contrast to their earlier beach trips to Daytona, a people-packed spectacle of cars. On Hutchinson, the spectacle was the seashells (海贝). Today, on the same stretch of beach, she rarely finds large whole shells. Among the most amazing natural objects, seashells represent both the surprise and wonder still promised by a trip to the beach - and the major changes underway on our coasts. Many of the largest and best-known marine mollusks (海洋软体动物) - the animal architects that build seashells - have declined under fishing pressure. They are also harmed by rising ocean temperatures, and by pollution and runoff from the land. And they can be displaced by the severe erosion (侵蚀) caused by inlets - a growing problem on Hutchinson Island - as well as efforts to repair eroded beaches by recovering lost sand. Twenty-five years ago, Sanibel Island became the first city in the U. S. to ban (禁止) “live shelling”, the practice of collecting and killing mollusks for their shells. The move to protect the individual lives of soft-bodied mollusks seems almost strange given ocean warming and other “tough realities of the changing world,” acknowledges José H. Leal, science director at Sanibel’s Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. But helping beach goers appreciate the animals inside the shell as much as the shiny exterior turns out to be a crucial step toward helping them understand what’s happening in the sea, Leal says. “If people understand the complexity of these animals and their importance, they will also realize the need to protect marine environments.” Delaware Seashore State Park is taking so-called low-impact beach combing (赶海) a step further: asking visitors to leave empty shells alone, too. At the park, signs advise visitors to leave shells where they lie or take a photo of a marine creature in the sand. After all, the point of enjoying nature is that it is in a natural state. 8. What impressed Melissa Greene on Hutchinson Island when she was young? A. The seashells. B. The tourists. C. The flats. D. The cars. 9. What is paragraph 3 mainly about? A. The dangers marine mollusks face. B. The changes seashells have experienced. C. The efforts made to save marine mollusks. D. The current situation of Hutchinson Island. 10. What does José H. Leal think of banning “live shelling”? A. It slows down ocean warming. B. It keeps people away from beaches. C. It popularizes the collecting of seashells. D. It raises people’s awareness of ocean protection. 11. What is the purpose of Delaware Seashore State Park’s advice? A. To provide habitat for small creatures. B. To protect visitors from being harmed. C. To attract marine creatures to the beach. D. To preserve the natural state of the beach. D Diabetes (糖尿病) researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have developed a new understanding of how human beta cell regenerative (再生的) drugs work. These drugs, developed at Mount Sinai, may hold promise for more than 500 million people with diabetes in the world. The results of this study were published this month in Cell Reports Medicine. Diabetes develops when cells known as beta cells become unable to produce insulin, a chemical substance essential to regulating blood sugar levels. While great progress has been made toward discovering a long-term treatment, none are appliable for millions of patients across the world. For more than 15 years, researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have worked tirelessly to find a solution to cure diabetes by identifying a drug that could make human beta cells regenerate. In 2015, Mount Sinai researchers discovered the first such drug, called harmine. Harmine is a member of a class of drugs called DYRK1A inhibitors (抑制剂). Finally, in July 2024, they showed that harmine alone increases human beta cell mass by 300 percent, and if a GLP-1RA is added, by 700 percent. A key question has been how harmine causes beta cells to regenerate. In the newest study, the research team reports that the new, regenerated beta cells may be coming from an unexpected source: a second pancreatic cell type called alpha cells. Since alpha cells are abundant in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, they may serve as a source for new beta cells in both common types of diabetes. “This may mean that people with all forms of diabetes have a large potential ‘container’ for future beta cells, just waiting to be activated by drugs like harmine.” said Esra Karakose, corresponding author of the study. “A simple pill, perhaps together with a GLP-1RA like semaglutide, is affordable and accessible to the millions of people with diabetes,” said Dr. Stewart, another researcher. 12. What can be inferred from drugs developed at Mount Sinai? A. They strengthen the effects of each beta cell. B. They have yet to appear in relevant journals. C. They are taken by over 500 million patients. D. They help regulate the quantity of beta cell. 13. What do we know about harmine? A. It belongs to one part of DYRK1A. B. It stops the formation of DYRK1A. C. It is the first drug to cure diabetes. D. It is useless without a GLP-1RA. 14. How does harmine cause beta cells to regenerate? A. By transforming alpha cells into beta cells. B. By enabling existing beta cells to reproduce. C. By pushing more organs to release beta cells. D. By creating a safe environment for beta cells. 15. What is the suitable title for the text? A. Researchers gain a new insight into diabetes. B. Researchers spare no efforts to cure diabetes. C. Researchers move closer to a cure for diabetes. D. Researchers reveal a “container” for beta cells. In a world where screens often blur (模糊) the line between reality and representation, taking care of your emotional well-being is key to avoiding destructive thoughts and unnecessary comparisons. ____16____ ● Encourage authenticity Getting rid of virtual masks and showing authentic aspects of your life are among the first steps to a healthier online presence. David didn’t seem to mind that Justin was small for his age. But on the first day of school, when David and Justin had lunch with the rest of the fifth-grade boys, Steven asked when David had started playing with babies, which made Justin uneasy. Several weeks later, David called to invite Justin to his birthday party at his grandfather’s farm. Justin didn’t want to go initially because he had wanted to spend the day running. When he ran, the problems at school didn’t matter, and being the smallest kid in his class didn’t matter, either. This Saturday, however, he reached the farm with Steven. David’s mother suggested that David show the boys around, so David asked his grandfather, Mr. Hamilton, to drive them to the foot of a hill. Mr. Hamilton left to prepare for the party. The boys decided to enter a cave, go out from a hole at its top, climb the hill and then hike back. The entrance to the cave was a big stone room with huge wooden pillars (柱子) supporting the doorway. About thirty feet in was a wall of rocks blocking further entrance. From the hole in the ceiling, light shone on the back wall. David started to show the boys how to climb up the back wall. “Let me go first,” Steven demanded. He grabbed David’s belt and pulled him off the rock, throwing him onto the ground. “Watch out!” shouted Justin. But it was too late. David fell hard against a pillar and the wood started to crack. A second later the pillar fell. Then part of the ceiling collapsed. Dust filled the air. When the dust finally settled, the boys found themselves trapped in the cave and the only exit was the hole in the ceiling, which became smaller — too small for anyone to go out. Worse still, a stream of water was flowing into the cave. Justin looked up at the hole and said, “I might be small enough to get out.” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Out of breath, Justin finally saw the farmhouse. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1-5 ACBCC 6-10 CACAB 11-15 CAACA 16-20 ACBAB 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024—2025学年度(下)七校协作体3月高三联考 英语试题 考试时间:120分钟 满分:150分 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1. 5分,满分7. 5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. B 5. D 6. A 7. 根据文章第二段“Ma Long’s daily routine throughout four seasons was a two - point line between the dormitory and the training hall, and he was the first to arrive and the last to leave every day. He had been doing so for ten years, monotonously and repetitively. 根据文章第三段“Ma Long, who is very strict with himself, was under pressure and … that others couldn’t imagine. At the lowest point, Ma Long had the idea of retiring. (对自己要求严苛的马龙,承受着旁人难以想象的压力与……。在最低谷的时候,马龙有过退役的念。)”可知,马龙对自己很严格,在失败后承受着别人无法想象的压力和“torment”,在最低谷的时候甚至想退役,可推理出这里的“torment”应该是一种痛苦的状态,“Misery”表示痛苦,故选A。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第二段“Ma Long’s daily routine throughout four seasons was a two - point line between the dormitory and the training hall, and he was the first to arrive and the last to leave every day. He had been doing so for ten years, monotonously and repetitively. (马龙一年四季的日常就是宿舍和训练馆两点一线,每天第一个来最后一个走,这样单调重复地过了十年。)”可知他训练刻苦,非常勤奋;根据第三段“However, after joining the team for nearly a decade, he suffered various types of failure, and thus was questioned by everyone. (然而,入队近十年,他却历经各种失利,也因此饱受质疑。)” 以及倒数第二段“In the Suzhou 2015 World Championships, Ma Long crowned his career, winning the singles champion, and it had been ten years since he won a world championship last time. (在2015年苏州世乒赛上,马龙登顶职业生涯,夺得男单冠军,此时距离他上次获得世界冠军已时隔十年。)”可知,他面对失败和质疑没有放弃,一直坚持不懈。因此可推理出马龙是一个努力且坚持不懈的人,故选C。 C In 1973, when Melissa Greene was in 6th grade, her parents bought the first flat on Hutchinson Island. A 9. A 10. D 11. 根据第一段中“The first time she ran down to the wild shore, she was shocked by the contrast to their earlier beach trips to Daytona, a people-packed spectacle of cars. On Hutchinson, the spectacle was the seashells (海贝). (当她第一次跑到荒凉的海岸时,她被与他们之前去代托纳海滩旅行的对比所震惊,那里挤满了人,到处都是汽车。在哈钦森岛上,最引人注目的是海贝。)”可知,当Melissa Greene第一次跑到哈钦森岛的野生海岸时,让她印象深刻的是那里的海贝。故选A项。 根据第三段“Many of the largest and best-known marine mollusks (海洋软体动物) - the animal architects that build seashells - have declined under fishing pressure. They are also harmed by rising ocean temperatures, and by pollution and runoff from the land. And they can be displaced by the severe erosion (侵蚀) caused by inlets - a growing problem on Hutchinson Island - as well as efforts to repair eroded beaches by recovering lost sand. 故选A项。 根据第五段“But helping beach goers appreciate the animals inside the shell as much as the shiny exterior turns out to be a crucial step toward helping them understand what’s happening in the sea, Leal says. “If people understand the complexity of these animals and their importance, they will also realize the need to protect marine environments.” (It raises people’s awareness of ocean protection)。 根据最后一段“Delaware Seashore State Park is taking so-called low-impact beach combing (赶海) a step further: asking visitors to leave empty shells alone, too. At the park, signs advise visitors to leave shells where they lie or take a photo of a marine creature in the sand. After all, the point of enjoying nature is that it is in a natural state. (To preserve the natural state of the beach)。故选D项。 D Diabetes (糖尿病) researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have developed a new understanding of how human beta cell regenerative (再生的) drugs work. D 13. B 14. A 15. 根据第一段“Diabetes (糖尿病) researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have developed a new understanding of how human beta cell regenerative (再生的) drugs work.(西奈山伊坎医学院的糖尿病研究人员对人类β细胞再生药物的工作原理有了新的认识)”以及第三段“Finally, in July 2024, they showed that harmine alone increases human beta cell mass by 300 percent, and if a GLP-1RA is added, by 700 percent.(最后,在2024年7月,他们发现,单靠伤害碱就能使人体β细胞质量增加300%,如果加入GLP-1RA,则能增加700%)”可知,这种药可以调控人类β细胞的数量。 根据第三段“Harmine is a member of a class of drugs called DYRK1A inhibitors.( Harmine是一类被称为DYRK1A抑制剂的药物中的一员)”可知,harmine属于DYRK1A抑制剂,所以能够抑制DYRK1A的形成。 根据第四段“In the newest study, the research team reports that the new, regenerated beta cells may be coming from an unexpected source: a second pancreatic cell type called alpha cells. Honest representation contributes to a more positive body image for you F. Here are some recommendations when editing images for your social networks G. On the whole, never underestimate the power of the things you post on social media 【答案】16. F 17. E 18. A 19. C 20. G 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了在社交网络编辑和分享图片的一些建议。 【16题详解】 根据上文“In a world where screens often blur ( 模糊 ) the line between reality and representation, taking care of your emotional well-being is key to avoiding destructive thoughts and unnecessary comparisons.(在一个屏幕经常模糊现实和表现之间界限的世界里,照顾好你的情绪健康是避免破坏性想法和不必要比较的关键。)”并结合下文各段给出的关于编辑图片的建议可知,空格处的句子应该是一个引领句,引出下文的建议,所以F项“Here are some recommendations when editing images for your social networks(在为你的社交网络编辑图片时,这里有一些建议)”填入空格处,符合语境。故选F项。 【17题详解】 根据上文的句子“Remember that it’s okay to edit your photos or videos a bit if it makes you feel more confident. Avoid drastically changing your appearance using artificial intelligence tools.(记住,如果能让你感觉更自信,可以稍微编辑一下你的照片或视频。避免使用人工智能工具大幅改变你的外表。)”可知,作者建议不要大幅编辑自己的照片,下文应该接着说这样做的好处,所以E项“Honest representation contributes to a more positive body image for you(诚实的展示有助于给你一个更积极的身体形象)”填入空格处,符合语境。且E项与下文的句子“Therefore, try to highlight your natural beauty.(因此,尽量突出你的自然美。)”是顺接关系。故选E项。 【18题详解】 空格处是该部分的主题句。根据下文的内容“Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to unrealistic standards when editing your images. Comparing yourself to others can negatively affect your confidence and emotional well-being. Give importance to your personal accomplishments and celebrate your authenticity rather than seeking recognition through outward appearance.(在编辑图像时,不要陷入将自己与不切实际的标准进行比较的陷阱。把自己和别人比较会对你的自信和情绪健康产生负面影响。重视你的个人成就,庆祝你的真实,而不是通过外表寻求认可。)”可知,此处作者主要是建议不要把自己和别人比较,不要通过外表寻求认可。所以,A项“Avoid social comparisons(避免社会比较)”填入空格处,可以作为该部分的主题句,符合语境。故选A项。 【19题详解】 根据空格后的句子“But you shouldn’t depend on them.(但是你不应该依赖它们。)”可推知,空格处应该提到不应该依赖的东西是什么,并且这些东西应该是有用的,所以C项“Keep in mind that AI tools can be great helpers(请记住,人工智能工具可以是很好的帮手)”填入空格处,符合语境。下文的them代指C项中的AI tools。故选C项。 【20题详解】 根据空格后的例子“A study in Applied Psychology suggested that people who are exposed to negative news and images on the Internet are at an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.(《应用心理学》上的一项研究表明,在互联网上接触负面新闻和图片的人患抑郁症、焦虑症和创伤后应激障碍的风险更高。)”可知,空格处的句子应该是强调社交媒体的影响力之大。所以G项“On the whole, never underestimate the power of the things you post on social media(总的来说,永远不要低估你在社交媒体上发布的东西的力量)”填入空格处,符合语境。故选G项。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D 四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 We have been educated that we have a short life, so we’d better ____21____ as many things as possible by pushing, or even forcing ourselves to a tight schedule. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Justin looked up at the hole and said, “I might be small enough to get out.” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Out of breath, Justin finally saw the farmhouse. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Justin looked up at the hole and said,“ I might be small enough to get out.” Volunteering to have a try, he climbed slowly up the back wall. He curled his body to such an extreme extent that he ultimately managed to come out of the hole. No sooner had Justin reached the top than he headed off to the farmhouse without hesitation. With those panicked faces and flowing water in mind, he couldn’t help quickening his pace. It was his regular running that enabled him to make a mad dash to the farmhouse despite fatigue and concern. Out of breath, Justin finally saw the farmhouse. “Mr. Hamilton! Hurry! David and Steven are trapped in the cave.” On hearing that, Mr. Hamilton left for the cave immediately with David’s mom. The moment they reached the spot, they set out to clear the small opening and eventually pulled the boys out. Luckily, no one was hurt. Steven approached Justin and said “I sincerely apologize for making fun of you. It’s amazing how quickly you managed to get help.” “Apology accepted,” A sense of pride in his small body washed over Justin for the first time. 词汇激活 行为类 ①爬:climb/ ascend/scale ②蜷缩身体:curl his body/bend his body/contort his body ③跑:run/sprint/dash 情绪类 ①恐慌:panicked/terrified/frightened ②自豪:proud/a sense of pride/take pride in 【点睛】【高分句型1】It was his regular running that enabled him to make a mad dash to the farmhouse despite fatigue and concern. (运用了的强调句型) 【高分句型2】The moment they reached the spot, they set out to clear the small opening and eventually pulled the boys out.
