SHARE THE MAGIC of Italian songs with Jonas Kaufmann as he shows us both on and off stage, how he fell in love with Italy and its music.
“ITALIANS LOVE TO SING. They sing in the street. They sing while they go about their business. It is not just a cliché—in Italy, you see grownup men just singing while they work, because they want to somehow express their feelings. Music is not only to make you smile. Music is to make you think, and sometimes to make you understand that you’re not the only one carrying great problems with you. By expressing that in a song, you can better live with it, because somebody found the right words, the right way to express what you’re feeling at that moment. The songs on this album show the whole range of emotions that Italian music is capable of, just like in opera...”

Several months ago, my husband and I were on an island for a long weekend with our five-year-old twin daughters. As we went back and forth about what to do next, our girls jumped in and told us exactly what they wanted to do. “We want to go to the butterfly museum,” said Emily and Hanna.
As soon as we walked into the main area of the museum, we saw thousands of beautiful butterflies. They all flapped their colorful wings.
My girls were jumping up and down, and I knew we had made the right decision to come to the museum. They were having so much fun.
I turned to our museum tour guide because I was curious (好奇的), and asked, “How long do butterflies live?”

“Wow,” I said, “I never thought about butterflies like that. Thank you.”

To imagine what humans will look like in the future, people must first understand what different human species (物种) looked like in the past, said Kira Westaway, a senior teacher at the department of environmental sciences at Macquarie University in Australia.
“The whole idea is to just get people pay attention to science!” Kira Westaway told Xinhua at the Sydney Science Week to explore the secrets of human species.
As part of the program, 75 children between the age of 5 —10 will be given the task to draw their own future human race. “It’s really interesting for kids, so they can get a sense of who they are and how they have become to look the way they are,” Westaway explained. “We are looking at environmental challenges, what is the environment going to look like in the future?”
According to Westaway, it’s possible to think that future humans will have shorter legs because people usually sit for a long time. It could also be likely that people will have much larger eyes in the years to come, as pollution in the air may make the sunlight not so bright and we can’t see very clearly. Some even point to the possibility of evolving with webbed feet (蹼足) if the sea levels continue to rise. “It’s great for kids to understand that connection between the environments and how important the environment is for us and how that will influence us in the future,” Westaway said.
Westaway’s lifelong work examining humans gives her a vantage (有利的) point in which to forecast what changes may develop in the human race.
66.What will the 75 children be asked to do?
A.Picture the future humans. B.Get a sense of who they are.
C.Discover how they have become. D.Imagine their future challenges.

Wang Yuyan is a member of the research team. She says that the small robot is being used to collect microplastics for research purposes now. But Wang adds that the team plans to improve it so the robot fish can clear any much more microplastic waste from deep ocean areas.
The robot fish can take in different kinds of microplastics and even repair itself when it is broken. And if it is accidentally (意外地) eaten by a real fish by chance, it can be broken down safely in the body of fish.
Wang says similar robots can be developed to put inside the human body for treating some diseases.

She said: “About ten days.”
“What can butterflies do in ten days?” I asked.
The guide stopped, looked at me, and said, “They make the world a more beautiful place.”
“Wow,” I said, “I never thought about butterflies like that. Thank you.”
After we said goodbye, I couldn’t stop thinking about what the guide had said. She was right. We all have something to offer the world with the time we have. When we focus our gifts on taking care of each other every day, we can make a difference.

My school life has changed a lot in the last few years. My old school was a small village school. I wasn't very far, so I often rode my bike to school. We used to begin school at nine am and finish at three pm. I had lunch at home and we had two hours for lunch. I used to like math best because my math teacher was funny, and I always played soccer with my classmates. This term, my parents sent me to a modern school in town. Now we begin school at eight thirty and finished for P. M. We only have one hour for lunch, and I have lunch in the schoolbus ing hall. Now my favorite subject is art. I like painting pictures in the art room, but I seldom play soccer now. My school life has changed a lot in the last few years. My old school was a small village school.
