Unit 1 Knowing me,knowing you 过去分词做状语 一、过去分词作状语的核心作用 表示动作的被动或完成,修饰主句的谓语动词,说明动作发生的 原因、条件、时间、伴随状态 等。 二、常见类型与例句 1. 表示原因 逻辑主语与主句一致,过去分词短语相当于原因状语从句。 Exhausted by the journey, he fell asleep immediately. (= Because he was exhausted by the journey, he fell asleep.) Frightened by the noise, the child began to cry. 2. 表示时间 过去分词动作发生在主句动作之前,可加连词(when, once, after 等)。 Seen from the hill, the city looks like a garden. (= When it is seen from the hill...) Once published, the book became a bestseller. 3. 表示条件 过去分词短语隐含条件,可加连词(if, unless 等)。 Given more time, I could finish the project. (= If I were given more time...) Heated to 100°C, water turns into steam. 4. 表示伴随状态 过去分词动作与主句动作同时发生,补充说明主句状态。 She stood there, surprised by his words. The teacher entered the classroom, followed by students. 5. 表示让步 可加连词(although, even if 等),表达转折关系。 Defeated in the game, they still smiled.
