课时学习设计 第 3 课时学习设计 课题名称 Full moon,Full feelings 一.学习内容分析 In this unit, students will learn to talk about The Origin and Customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival.It refers to stories of “Hou Yi shot down nine suns” ,“Chang’e flew up to the moon” and so on. In this story, they will learn about some traditional festivals in China by reading the passage. At the same time,they can describe other festivals on the basis of Chinese traditional festival.they will master the reading strategy--moving from general to specific. All the students will be interested in these festivals. 2、 学情分析 The students of Grade 9 have good foundation.They are creative and energetic. They enjoy taking part in activities.This article is a reading material about Chinese traditional festival. Most of the students must have heard about them, but may know little about them. And they are likely to feel excited to read by themselves. 3、 学习目标 1. Knowledge and skills Develop students' reading skills through reading and strengthen their understanding of passage. 2.Reading strategies master some reading strategies: predict by reading the picture and scanning, retell the story. 3.Emotional attitude students will like to know the English expression of Chinese traditional festivals and are willing to spread and introduce local culture in English. 4. Cultural awareness Students can feel the characteristics of folk stories and experience the emotions expressed in the stories. 四、学习重点和难点 1.Master the key words and target language. 2.Read the article to identify main idea, to understand words in the context and catch the special information. 3.Train students’ reading and retelling ability and comprehensive skills. 五、学习活动设计 Teaching activities Learning activities Step 1 Leading- in (1mins) Show students a poem and read the poem with the music to arouse their interest. Purpose:To catch students' attention and ask them what the poem and music are about. Then lead to the topic “Full Moon, Full Feelings”. Students listen to the music and the poem, students interest is aroused and “Mid-Autumn festival” will come to their mind. This step will make preparation for the topic “Full Moon, Full Feelings” Step2 Learning objectives(1mins) Let students read through the learning objectives. Purpose: to know about the objectives of this lesson. Students will get to know the learning objectives of this class. Step 3Pre-reading (2mins) Ask students “Can you tell Chinese folk stories in English? ”and then show a video about Chinese folk stories. and ask students what you can see in the video? Purpose: let students know what the Chinese folk stories are about and the task of retelling. Students watch a video about Chinese folk stories and think about the question: “can you tell Chinese folk story in English?” Step 4 Self-study of the new words(2mins) Let students learn the new words by themselves. Purpose: lay a foundation for the reading tasks. Students learn the new words by themselves. Step5 Prediction Look at the picture and predict what the picture is about, then let students give a title to the passage. Purpose: learn to predict Students look at the picture and predict what it is about, then try to give a title to the passage. Step 6 overall reading (3mins) students read through the passage and match the main idea with each paragraph. para.1 A.the tradition of Mid-Autumn Festival para.2 B. an introduction of the festival para.3 C. the most touching story Purpose:To train Students’ reading skills by paying attention to the first or the last sentence and find the main idea quickly. Students can get the main idea of each paragraph by reading the whole passage and the key sentences. Step 8 Fast reading Students read para.1 and para.3, then finish the mind map Purpose: Students will get to know more about the Mid-Autumn Festival by finishing the mind map. students read paragraph 1 and paragraph 3, and finish the mind map. Students share their answers. Step9 Perform and communication after careful reading Students read para.2 and fill in the blanks by working with a group. Purpose: train students reading skills by working with partners and find out the key words of the story. Students read para.2 carefully and work with groups to find out the answers. Students will be asked to speak out the key words to help teacher make the time line of the story. Step10 Retell the story Students retell the story by putting the key words in order one by one. Purpose: students can practice their speaking ability and retell ability. Students will retell the story out loud while putting the key words in order. Step11 Further thinking ask question: What do you think of the characters? and enjoy a video about Chang’e exploration project. Purpose: to analyse the characteristics of each character and inspire students to dream big. Students will discuss with partner to find out what is the character like? 六、板书设计 Unit 2 I think that mooncakes are delicious!
