Possible version 1:
Technological Innovation for Future School
I envision a future school powered by innovation, where every corner inspires creativity, with workshops equipped with 3D printers and robotics kits, and art studios filled with paints and canvases.
To realize this vision, we could seek donations from alumni and local businesses. Besides, teachers could integrate creative projects into the curriculum, making innovation a part of everyday learning. Additionally, we could establish a student innovation club to organize regular workshops and competitions, further engaging students in creative activities.
With the vision and measures above, I firmly believe that we can cultivate a generation of innovators ready to tackle future challenges.
Possible version 2:
Technological Innovation for Future School
Envisioning a future where education is as unique as a fingerprint, I propose the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create personalized learning plans for students. This approach will tailor educational content to individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses, fostering a more effective learning environment.
To achieve this, schools can implement AI-driven platforms that analyze student performance in real-time. These platforms will adapt lessons based on each student’s progress, offering additional resources for challenging topics and skipping over those already mastered. Teachers will act as facilitators, guiding students through their personalized curriculum.
By leveraging AI, we can transform education into a more inclusive and dynamic process. This not only optimizes learning outcomes but also empowers students to take charge of their educational journey.
Possible version 3:
Technological Innovation for Future School
In envisioning the future of education, I propose the integration of virtual reality (VR) technology into the classroom. This innovation will revolutionize traditional teaching methods by providing immersive learning experiences that cater to various learning styles.
To actualize this vision, schools can collaborate with tech companies to develop VR educational software tailored to different subjects. Teachers will be trained to facilitate VR lessons, ensuring a seamless blend of technology and teaching. Additionally, schools should invest in VR equipment for each student, promoting equal access to this novel learning platform.
By allowing students to virtually explore historical events or conduct scientific experiments, education will become more interactive and memorable. This approach not only prepares students for the tech-driven world ahead but also fosters a lifelong passion for learning.

Meanwhile, he handed over his wallet and hat to the journalist, hoping they would help. The journalist quickly brought these personal belongings and the video to the pet hospital.
Bobbry smelled Park Jun-ho’s personal belongings and saw him in the video. Tears welled up in its eyes. It stared straight at the screen, listening to the voice saying, “Eat Bobby. Come on and eat!” Gradually, it seemed to understand something and began to eat heartily. A month later, Park Jun-ho was finally discharged from the hospital. M: Hi, Debra. I just dropped by to see how you’re getting along with your packing. Do you need any help?
W: No, everything is okay. Thanks. But I’ve got a lot more things to take home than I’d thought. It’ll probably be a little overweight.
M: You know that as long as the two cases are less than 40 kg, that’s all right for flights to America. You can have a handbag and a small backpack as carry-ons, too.
W: Then that won’t be a problem.
M: Now, when did you say your flight would leave?
W: Let me see… at 10:30 am.
M: I’ll come by and pick you up at 7:30 am. Then we can arrive early enough to check in without rushing.
W: Thanks, Jason. You don’t have to bother, though. I can call a taxi.
M: Well, I don’t have anything scheduled for tomorrow morning, so it won’t be any trouble picking you up.

Over 80 years after he first joined the RAF, 102-year-old Jack Hemmings took to the skies again to fly one of the Heritage Hangar’ s iconic Spitfire aircraft. The flight on Monday was the first time he flew a Spitfire. Mr Hemmings said when offered the flight, he seized it with both hands and could hardly wait to try it. Following the flight, Jack Hemmings remarked that it was absolutely delightful being back behind the controls, though the ride was very shaky. “To be honest, I felt a bit out of practice. Not surprising I am not as sharp as before,” he said. The aim of the flight was to raise funds and awareness for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), the world’s largest humanitarian air service that Jack co-founded with fellow RAF veteran Stuart King, who passed away in 2020.
MAF works to bring aid, development and mission organizations to help people in the world’s most remote areas access essentials - with an MAF plane taking off or landing every four minutes! Jack joined the RAF in1941 and over his flying career was awarded the Air Force Cross for his outstanding performance, and the RAF’s Master Air Pilot award. In 1947 he became a member of the Mildmay Missionary Movement, a Christian air service which became the MAF.
Jack’ s time in the air hasn’t always gone to plan — during an early pioneering flight, Jack and Stuart crashed into a hillside in Burundi! “Neither of us were injured except a bruise and a cut on my little finger,” Jack said. “But I have been called Crasher Jack ever since.”
Fortunately, no such accidents occurred in his more recent flight. Making history as Britain’s oldest Spitfire pilot, Jack got into the cockpit (驾驶舱) alongside Spitfire pilot Barry Hughes and took off from a field in Kent, performing three victory rolls during a 20-minute flight. He called the experience “absolutely delightful.” And age is no object: “It’s not incredible being 102. You just get up every day and go about your business. It’s the present moment which counts - and this one was very special indeed,” he said.
24.Why did 102-year-old Jack Hemmings fly to the skies again?
A.To fulfill his personal ambition by setting a new flying record.
B.To raise money and public consciousness for a humanitarian cause.
C.To celebrate the 80th anniversary of his RAF membership.
D.To fulfill a long-standing dream to fly a Spitfire again.
25.What’s the original name of MAF?
A.The British Royal Air Force. B.The RAF Veterans Association.
C.The Mildmay Missionary Movement. D.The International Air Transport Association.
26.How severe was the accident mentioned in paragraph 3?
A.Life-threatening. B.Minor. C.Deadly. D.Disabling.
27.Which of the following words best describe Jack Hemmmings?
A.Patient and passionate. B.Far-sighted and creative.
C.Adventurous and selfless. D.Committed and cautious.
【答案】24.B 25.C 26.B 27.C

Is art boring? It’s not, really. I don’t think so, at least. But there’s a problem with how we look at art, how we approach it.
Museums are formal and strangely dry. There’s no embrace. Barriers prevent us from leaving the path set by the curator (馆长). Glass traps the paintings permanently in their frames – an invisible barrier that prevents us from ever getting close to the art, from touching it, feeling it. Guides and guards are constantly observing us, stopping us from taking photos, or using selfie sticks, or talking too loud. Museums have too many rules. And they’ve made our art boring.
We should be able to see art, to sometimes touch it. How can we feel any connection to the world? Art is a way to connect to the world, and yet so much of our art (and it is our art, not theirs, not yours — but ours) is unreachable.
Why can’t we laugh in museums? Why can’t we take silly selfies in front of art, our tongues sticking out, our hands in the air? Art is not boring and yet, we as a society, have made it so. We’ve trapped incredible artists behind glass boxes, with random rules governing noise levels, lights, flashes, sounds, photos, selfies, pens & pencils.
I love art. I think it has this incredible power to change our world. It can move us — as individuals, or as a collective society. Art is so often a window to something else. And yet we’ve allowed museums and galleries and collectors to prevent us from ever opening those windows.
Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy art museums. There are many fantastic ones around the world. And without so many wonderful curators and collectors, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy much of the art that is created -the masterpieces and the newer, more contemporary (and sometimes crazy) art. But at the same time, we’ ve allowed museums too much control.
They’ve taken our art. They’ve controlled our world. And our world, our art — it’s not meant to be controlled. It’s meant to be experienced — however that may be. It’s an individual, personal choice. Let’s take back our art, our museums. And take some selfies.
28.According to the writer, how may visitors to museums feel?
A.Interested. B.Unwelcome. C.Excited. D.Ashamed.
29.What can we infer from paragraph 5?
A.The writer believes that art should never be kept in museums.
B.The writer is losing his love of art due to museums’ policies.
C.The writer believes museums are taking away the power of art.
D.The writer believes that art should be replaced by something else.
30.What does the underlined phrase “get me wrong” in paragraph 6 mean?
A.Help me. B.Control me. C.Misunderstand me. D.Frighten me.
31.Which of the following statements would the writer agree with?
A.All of us can create art. B.Museums are of little use.
C.Admission to museums should be free. D.Museums should give visitors more freedom.
根据第二段的“ There’s no embrace. Barriers prevent us from leaving the path set by the curator ( 馆长 ). Glass traps the paintings permanently in their frames – an invisible barrier that prevents us from ever getting close to the art, from touching it, feeling it. Guides and guards are constantly observing us, stopping us from taking photos, or using selfie sticks, or talking too loud. (没有拥抱。屏障阻止我们离开馆长设置的路径。玻璃将画作永久地困在画框里——这是一道无形的屏障,阻止我们接近艺术,触摸它,感受它。导游和警卫不断地观察我们,阻止我们拍照,或使用自拍杆,或大声说话。)”可知,博物馆的这些规则会使得我们感觉不受欢迎。故选B。
29.推理判断题。根据第五段的“ Art is so often a window to something else. And yet we’ve allowed museums and galleries and collectors to prevent us from ever opening those windows.(艺术常常是通向其他事物的窗口。然而,我们却允许博物馆、画廊和收藏家阻止我们打开这些窗户。)”可知,博物馆使我们不能更好的接触艺术,因此,博物馆正在夺走艺术的力量。故选C。
30.词句猜测题。结合上文及第五段的“ And yet we’ve allowed museums and galleries and collectors to prevent us from ever opening those windows.(然而,我们却允许博物馆、画廊和收藏家阻止我们打开这些窗户。)”和下文的“I enjoy art museums.” get me wrong意为misunderstand me(误会我)。故选C。
结合全文内容,根据第二段的“ Barriers prevent us from leaving the path set by the curator ( 馆长 ). ...Museums have too many rules. (障碍阻止我们离开馆长设置的路径,......博物馆有太多的规则。)”和最后一段的“ Let’s take back our art, our museums. And take some selfies(让我们拿回我们的艺术,我们的博物馆。自拍一下)”可知,作者认为博物馆限制了我们太多的欣赏艺术的自由,因此,选项D“博物馆应该给游客更多的自由”是作者赞同的。故选D。
D
Superhuman artificial intelligence is already among us. Well, sort of. When it comes to playing games like chess and Go, or solving difficult scientific challenges like predicting protein structures, computers are well ahead of us. But we have one superpower they aren’t close to mastering: mind reading.
Humans have a mysterious ability to reason the goals, desires and beliefs of others, a crucial skill that means we can anticipate other people’s actions and the consequences of our own. Reading minds comes so easily to us, though, that we often don’t think to spell out what we want. If AIs are to become truly useful in everyday life—to cooperate effectively with us or to understand that a child might run into the road after a bouncing ball—we have to give them this gift that evolution has given us to read other people’s minds.
Psychologists refer to the ability to infer another’s mental state as theory of mind. In humans, this capacity starts to develop at a very young age. How to reproduce the capability in machines is far from clear, though. One of the main challenges is context. For instance, if someone asks whether you are going for a run and you reply “it’s raining”, they can quickly conclude that the answer is no. But this requires huge amounts of background knowledge about running, weather and human preferences.
Moreover, whether humans or AI, the theory of mind is supposed to emerge naturally from one’s own learning process. Building prior knowledge into AI makes it reliant on our imperfect understanding of theory of mind. In addition, AI may be capable of developing approaches we could never imagine. There can be many forms of theory of mind that we don’t know about simply because we live in a human body that has certain types of senses and a certain ability to think.
Yet we might still want AI to have a more human-like form of theory of mind. Humans can clearly explain their goals and desires to each other using common language and ideas. While letting AI form the theory of mind in their learning process is likely to lead to developing more powerful AI, plainly building in shared ways to represent knowledge may be crucial for humans to trust and communicate with AI.
It is important to remember, though, that the pursuit of machines with theory of mind is about more than just building more useful robots. It is also a stepping stone on the path towards a deeper goal for AI and robotics research: building truly self-aware machines. Whether we will ever get there remains to be seen. But along the way thinking about other people and other agents, we are on the path to learning to think about ourselves.
32.According to the passage, which of the following contexts can AI understand well?
A.When you are asked to eat spicy food for dinner and you reply “a sore throat”.
B.When a teacher asks for a boy’s homework and he answers “my dog ate it”.
C.When a mom tells her kid some food is good for health and the kid eats it.
D.When kids see their mom after hurting themselves and they cry louder.
33.The author believes that .
A.humans’ theory of mind is far from perfect
B.humans limit AI’s theory of mind to an extent
C.we should reject human-like forms of abilities for AI
D.shared forms of theory of mind result in more powerful AI
34.As for AIs, what does the author value most?
A.Reliability. B.Practicability.
C.Reasoning capability. D.Communication ability.
35.Which would be the best title for the passage?
A.AI with Its Own Theory of Mind Is Expected
B.AI with Theory of Mind Will Reshape Our Future
C.AI’s Theory of Mind Is a Blessing or Suffering to Humans
D.Theory of Mind Bridges the Gap Between Humans and AI
【答案】32.C 33.B 34.C 35.A
根据第一段“But we have one superpower they aren’t close to mastering: mind reading. (但我们有一个他们还没有掌握的超能力:读心术)”和第二段“Humans have a mysterious ability to reason the goals, desires and beliefs of others, a crucial skill that means we can anticipate other people’s actions and the consequences of our own. (人类有一种神秘的能力来推理他人的目标、欲望和信仰,这是一项至关重要的技能,意味着我们可以预测他人的行为和自己的后果) ”和第三段的“For instance, if someone asks whether you are going for a run and you reply “it’s raining”, they can quickly conclude that the answer is no.(例如,如果有人问你是否要跑步,而你回答“正在下雨”,他们很快就会得出结论,答案是否定的)”可知,读心需要经过一定的推理,而计算机不具备人类所拥有的读心的能力。A项“When you are asked to eat spicy food for dinner and you reply “a sore throat”. (你被要求晚餐吃辣的食物时,你回答说“喉咙痛”)”、B项“When a teacher asks for a boy’s homework and he answers “my dog ate it”. (当老师问一个男孩的家庭作业时,他回答说“我的狗吃了”)”和D项“When kids see their mom after hurting themselves and they cry louder. (当孩子们在伤害自己后看到他们的妈妈时,他们哭得更大声)”都需要运用到思维理论去解释人们的目标和欲望。C项“When a mom tells her kid some food is good for health and the kid eats it. (当妈妈告诉她的孩子一些食物对健康有益时,孩子就会吃)”是直接的陈述,不需要运用思维理论。故选C。
33.推理判断题。根据第三段“In humans, this capacity starts to develop at a very young age. (心理学家将推断他人精神状态的能力称为心理理论。在人类中,这种能力在很小的时候就开始发展。然而,如何在机器中复制这种能力还远不清楚。主要挑战之一是语境问题。例如,如果有人问你是否要跑步,而你回答“正在下雨”,他们很快就会得出结论,答案是否定的。但这需要大量关于跑步、天气和人类偏好的背景知识)”可知,人类在一定程度上限制了人工智能的思维理论。故选B。
34.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“Yet we might still want AI to have a more human-like form of theory of mind. Humans can clearly explain their goals and desires to each other using common language and ideas. While letting AI form the theory of mind in their learning process is likely to lead to developing more powerful AI, plainly building in shared ways to represent knowledge may be crucial for humans to trust and communicate with AI. (然而,我们可能仍然希望人工智能拥有一种更像人类的思维理论。人类可以用共同的语言和想法向彼此清楚地解释他们的目标和欲望。虽然让人工智能在学习过程中形成思维理论可能会导致开发出更强大的人工智能,但以共享的方式表达知识可能对人类信任人工智能和与人工智能交流至关重要)”可知,关于人工智能,作者最看重的是它的推理能力,这样才能实现人类人工智能的交流。故选C。
35.主旨大意题。通读全文,结合最后一段的“It is important to remember, though, that the pursuit of machines with theory of mind is about more than just building more useful robots. It is also a stepping stone on the path towards a deeper goal for AI and robotics research: building truly self-aware machines. (然而,重要的是要记住,追求具有思维理论的机器不仅仅是为了制造更有用的机器人。这也是迈向人工智能和机器人研究更深层目标的垫脚石:建造真正有自我意识的机器)”可知,作者期待建造真正有自我意识的机器,即作者期待人工智能具备思维理论。故A项“AI with Its Own Theory of Mind Is Expected(期待人工智有拥有自己的心智理论)”可以作为本文的最佳标题。故选A。
Regular meditation (冥想) can help you to control your emotions, enhance your concentration, decrease stress, and even become more connected to those around you. Here are five tips to help beginners meditate better.
Try meditating at the same time
Scheduling your meditation practice for the same time each day will help it become part of your everyday routine. Early morning is a very good time to meditate since your mind has not yet become consumed with the stresses and worries of the day. 36 ,
Take a guided meditation class
If you want additional guidance, consider taking a meditation class with an experienced teacher. Local gyms, spas, schools, and dedicated meditation centers offer classes in many locations. 37 . For instance, you can find instructional videos on YouTube.
Try grounding exercises
Grounding is a techníque to help you practice mindfulness in everyday life. All you need to do is focus directly on something in your surroundings or a specific sensation in your body. For example, you might examine more closely the feeling of your feet on the floor. 38 .
View meditation as a journey
Meditation is not a goal that you can complete, like trying to get a promotion at work. Viewing meditation just as a tool to achieve a certain goal would be like saying the goal of a stroll on a beautiful day is to walk a mile. 39 . Don’t bring the desires and attachments that distract you in day-to-day life into your meditation practice.
40
While meditation can improve your overall health and well-being, it works best if you combine it with other healthy lifestyle practices. Avoid watching too much television, drinking alcohol, or smoking before meditation. These activities can numb the mind—preventing you from achieving the level of concentration necessary for successful meditation.
A.Make it a daily routine
B.Maintain a healthy lifestyle
C.Reflect on yourself at turning points in life
D.Try doing this if you feel like you are distracted
E.Choosing a time in the evening can be beneficial as well
F.You can find a range of different class types by searching online
G.Focus instead on the process and experience of meditation itself
前文“Early morning is a very good time to meditate since your mind has not yet become consumed with the stresses and worries of the day.(清晨是冥想的一个非常好的时间,因为此时你的大脑还没有被一天的压力和烦恼所占据。)”
前文“Local gyms, spas, schools, and dedicated meditation centers offer classes in many locations.(当地的健身房、水疗中心、学校和专门的冥想中心在许多地方都提供课程。)”
前文“All you need to do is focus directly on something in your surroundings or a specific sensation in your body.(你所需要做的就是直接关注你周围的事物或你身体中的某种特定感觉。)”
39.前文“Meditation is not a goal that you can complete, like trying to get a promotion at work. Viewing meditation just as a tool to achieve a certain goal would be like saying the goal of a stroll on a beautiful day is to walk a mile.(冥想不是你能够完成的一个目标,就像在工作中努力升职一样。将冥想仅仅视为实现某个目标的工具,就像在美好的一天里散步的目标是为了走一英里一样。)”提到,将冥想视为达到某种目标的工具是错误的,就像散步不仅仅是为了走一英里。根据小标题可知,我们应该关注冥想本身的过程和体验,而不是目标,G选项“Focus instead on the process and experience of meditation itself(专注于冥想本身的过程和体验)”说明了我们要专注于冥想本身的过程和体验,承接上文,符合语境,故选G。
40.空格处是本段小标题,空后“While meditation can improve your overall health and well-being, it works best if you combine it with other healthy lifestyle practices.(虽然冥想可以改善你的整体健康和幸福感,但如果你将其与其他健康的生活方式实践相结合,它的效果会更好。)”
Walking into my middle school class, I saw a new teacher. When she did a roll call, the pause at my name “Jasina” was quite 41 , so I said, “You can call me Jas.” But her 42 that my name was “unique” made me uncomfortable. In fact, “Jasina” (uttered “Jas-een-a”) isn’t difficult to 43 , and I’m mostly called Jas.
During my growth, the reactions to my name made me feel 44 to stand out. In second grade, I 45 the sun red, even though I knew it was yellow, just to be different. At snack time, I’d choose the less popular option. In middle school, my 46 to follow trends like skinny jeans and the Justin Bieber craze left me completely isolated. I had 47 in common with my peers.

Technological Innovation for Future School
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

In Gangneung Town, South Korea, lived 70-year-old Park Jun-ho. His wife passed away a year ago, and he had been relying on his adopted dog, Bobby, for company.
One day, an unexpected fire broke out and burned their house to ashes. Park Jun-ho was rescued, together with his wallet and his favorite hat, but he was severely injured. He was quickly sent to the hospital. He was heartbroken, believing that Bobby had been killed in the fire. He would rather have Bobby with him than his personal belongings.
However, Bobby was still alive, though with an injured leg. A journalist, who was covering the story of the fire incident, happened to pass by the ruins of Park Jun-ho’s house. He noticed Bobby walking around the remains slowly and sadly. It would stop at certain spots, as if recalling the times it had spent with Park Jun-ho there. It then sat down, its eyes fixed on the path leading to the house, patiently waiting. Every time someone approached, Bobby would stand up, barking to warn them off, as if this place was the last connection it had with its beloved master and it had to protect it at all costs. The journalist saw the dog there every day when he passed by. He was deeply touched and recorded a video of Bobby.
The journalist managed to find Park Jun-ho in the hospital and showed him the video. Seeing Bobby still alive, Park Jun-ho burst into tears. But due to his poor physical condition, he couldn’t leave the hospital. He requested the journalist to help Bobby. The journalist recorded Park Jun-ho’s voice and placed the recording in a cage (笼子) he bought. Then, he put the cage beside the ruins. When Bobby heard Park Jun-ho’s voice, it walked around the cage for a long time and finally entered the cage to listen to the voice. Thus, the journalist successfully took Bobby to the pet hospital.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
But two days passed in the pet hospital, and Bobby refused to eat.

Bobby smelled Park Jun-ho’s personal belongings and saw him in the video.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
But two days passed in the pet hospital, and Bobby refused to eat. If this continued, Bobby would lose its life. The journalist was at a loss and had to turn to Park Jun-ho for help. Hearing that Bobby wouldn’t eat or drink, Park Jun-ho felt extremely sad. But at the journalist’s suggestion, Park Jun-ho recorded a video urging Bobby to eat.
He rushed to the pet hospital impatiently and was happily reunited with Bobby. Their reunion was a heartwarming moment that showed the deep connection between a man and his beloved dog.
