At my primary school, I was one of the smartest kids there. I never studied, but always got perfect scores. I thought I was born clever. At least I believed so. I was also a prodigy in music according to myself. I could sing better than almost everyone else in my school. I was pretty sure that once I got to seventh grade, everyone would be surprised by me.

A friend wrote me a letter a few weeks ago. He felt upset and ended his letter with the words, “We can’t really change the world we live in, can we?” I replied to him and started my letter with the sentence (句子), “Yes, we certainly can!”
I can still remember someone who changed me. She was the music teacher at my primary school. She was good at playing the guitar. I wanted to impress (给……留下好印象) her. However, I didn’t know how to play the guitar.
One day, she let me try playing her guitar. I did my best, but I couldn’t play it well. I put my head down and felt unhappy. “I think I’m not talented,” I told her. She looked at me with a kind smile and said, “We’re all good at something. You just need to find out what you’re good at. Then you can share it with the world.”
Those simple words changed me. They planted a seed (种子) in my mind and it continues to grow now. They made me know that I could do well in something. I just had to find it and share it.
Can we change the world? Yes, we can. We can make it a little different through one idea or kind act at a time. All we need to do is try our best.

At around 3 a. m. on November 12, the couple were busy making baozi when they heard a loud cry near their shop. Then Wu noticed a little girl running on the street. She rushed to find out what was going on. Seeing the little girl without any parents or any adult around her, she carried her into the shop and wrapped her in a thick coat. Then Cai called the police at once.
“Are you looking for your mom?” Wu asked the girl. With her teeth shaking from cold, the girl nodded.
“She wanted her mom, but I don’t know who her parents were. My first thought was that a child staying outside alone was not safe, so I brought her inside,” said Wu. After the police officers came, they brought the girl to the police station and started to look for her parents. Very soon, the parents picked up their daughter at the police station after the police got in touch with them. On their way home, the parents came to the baozi shop and expressed their thanks to the couple in person.
Later, the couple received 5000 yuan for helping the lost girl. With the money, they offered 2500 free hot baozi to the cleaners who worked in the early morning in winter. “A warm breakfast helps to fight off the cold the whole day,” Wu said. “Seeing the happy smile on their faces, we feel happy too.”
