Chinese noodles have a long history. Trey were first mentioned in the Eastern Han Dynasty (朝代), over 1, 900 years ago. At that time, noodles were called “cakes”. They were “cakes” that were boiled in water.

There are all kinds of noodles, such as cold noodles, warm noodles, and fried noodles. There are also all kinds of noodle—making methods, such as brushing, pressing, rolling and pulling.
China is where all noodles originated (起源), including the noodles, such as spaghetti, that we think came from other countries. In the Yuan Dynasty, Marco Polo came to China. He learned to make noodles, and then taught the method when he went back to his country. In 1912, the traditional Chinese method of noodle—making was brought to Japan. Japanese noodles were first called “Dragon Noodles”, meaning food eaten by the Chinese—the descendants (后代) of the Dragon.
Among all Chinese noodles, the most special type maybe Yi Noodles. They were created by a chef in the Qing Dynasty. Yi Noodles are made in both southern and northern China, but Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces are most famous for making Yi Noodles. Yi Noodles can be served dry or with soup. Since Yi Noodles are similar to modern instant noodles (方便面), they are considered to be the father of modern instant noodles.

There are three common questions about how to improve our English.
The first question is about real English. Some students say that they want to learn real English. But they don’t know what to do. Watching English films is a good way. When we are tired after studying for a long time, we can watch an English film to relax. While watching it, we can also learn real English at the same time.
The second question is about speaking. Most students feel too shy to talk with foreigners. “Where are you from?” “What do you think of China?” These are both good questions to start a conversation. Before we begin, take a deep breath and smile! Smiling always helps.
The third question is about vocabulary. We want to remember all the new words. The problem is that we write them down but forget them soon. Write eight or ten words on a piece of paper and put it in our bedroom. Try to remember them. Spell the words whenever we see them, and change them every day. There is another way, when you’re shopping, counting the English words or saying the English names for everything you see as much as possible.
43. According to the second paragraph, what can we do to learn real English?

You will probably get through this part quickly and in no time your voice will be strong and stable(沉稳的).

Chinese noodles have a long history. Trey were first mentioned in the Eastern Han Dynasty (朝代), over 1, 900 years ago. At that time, noodles were called “cakes”. They were “cakes” that were boiled in water.

A. Talk to foreign friends. B. Remember all words.

Dear Alex,
When I was 15, my voice changed. My classmates said I sounded like a duck, and it made me really sad. Now, I don’t feel like talking much, and I really want my old voice back. What can I do about this?
Daniel
Dear Daniel,
It’s not nice being laughed at. But try not to be too sensitive(敏感的)about your voice breaking. It’s a natural change and something many people go through.
You should be proud of the changes your body is going through, not embarrassed. Puberty(青春期)is a natural process everybody experiences. Maybe have a talk with one of your parents if you want to understand more about what this means. Your voice changing is only a small part of the process. You will probably get through this part quickly and in no time your voice will be strong and stable(沉稳的).
