I'm writing to share with you a remarkable Chinese animated film I recently watched, Ne Zha. Set in ancient China, the story follows Ne Zha, a young boy born as a demon. Facing prejudice and fear from the villagers, he tries hard to prove himself and eventually becomes a hero. The film features stunning visuals, with vibrant colors and dynamic fight scenes. The voice acting is also top - notch, bringing the characters to life. What impressed me most was Ne Zha's spirit. Despite the tough fate, he firmly believed “My fate is determined by me, not by the heavens.” This line really touched my heart. It taught me that no matter how many difficulties we meet, we should never give up on our dreams. I'm sure you'll love it too. Looking forward to hearing from you. Mike, Andy and Lucas looked at each other, and a silent thought passed among them. They nodded to each other and turned around together. They jogged back towards their friend Mark and slowly enfolded him in a tight circle and kept pace, cheering him on as he had done for them moments before. Seeing what they did, the whole field was boiling. All the audience stood up and cheered for the four friends. Mark was moved to see his three friends come back and run with him. He had never imagined that they could run with him on the track. The progress was slow, but in the end the three-star runners and Mark crossed the finish line together to the enthusiastic cries of their teachers and classmates. Seeing the smile on Mark’s face, I came to understand what makes the Special Olympics and the determined athletes who compete so extraordinary. Years later, I still remember the day. That’s not just because of the competition, but because of the warm friendship between Mark and his friends. 1.Why does the man feel upset? They track fitness accurately, like steps and heart rate, get instant notifications and can even make calls on the go — basically a mini computer on your wrist. But the daily charging is a pain. M: That’s true. Traditional watches, though, have lasting charm. No battery troubles and they make a great style statement. Put one on and it looks elegant. W: Yeah, but they lack high-tech features. When I wear a traditional watch, I miss quick message access. In this digital age, staying informed matters. M: So, we need to balance function and style based on our needs. I do lots of outdoor activities and like style. Guess I should weigh the advantages and the disadvantages carefully. W: Exactly. If you’re always on the move, a smartwatch might be better. Prefer classic? A traditional one could suit. Don’t rush. Try borrowing both from friends to test them out. M: Great idea. Thanks, I’ll do that. 18.What did Harry Nuriev do in 2019? A.He displayed a special sofa. B.He designed a sofa using bags. C.He searched a fair for old items. 19.What does Katie Treggiden think furniture companies should do? A.Improve product quality. B.Use sustainable material. C.Lengthen furniture’s life. 20.What is the main focus of the speaker? A.A designer’s green sofa. B.Problems in the furniture industry. C.The change in the fashion industry. 【答案】18.A 19.C 20.B 【原文】M: Russian designer Harry Nuriev’s latest sofa is made from a pile of waste bags. He wants it to draw attention to waste things and how we use them. The piece was based on an idea he first explored at a fair in 2019, when he presented a sofa made from old clothes. The project commented on the fashion industry’s waste problem, which is mainly generated by cheap, trend-responsive “fast fashion”. The project also drew a direct line between the waste problem and the furniture industry. It’s estimated that 9 million tons of furniture are thrown away every single year, and over 80% of it ends up in landfill. Add to that the carbon releases caused by producing and shipping it, and the furniture industry looks like another threat to the global climate. With so much waste furniture, brands that make typically “fast” furniture are announcing efforts to change. Some companies commit to using only renewable or recyclable material s to cut carbon release. Katie Treggiden, design expert and author of Wasted: When Trash Becomes Treasure, said that having a long life has been a key selling message among responsible furniture companies for a long time. She added they also need to offer repair and take-back service to give their products a second life. A Three days of wonderful riding for the price of one! Schreiner Park has beautiful full-service sites with showers, private cabins, and even an awesome trail system as a bonus! 根据文章“Included In Your Registration”部分中“Invitation to after parties: Friday— winery; Saturday— Trailhead Brew Pub (会后派对邀请:周五——酒庄;周六——Trailhead Brew Pub)”可知,在骑行结束后参与者会被邀请去参加骑行后派对。故选A项。 B I loved to argue. My fixation on being right had been a mainstay in my life and had often stirred up trouble in my family; there were moments when my marriage became strained and my kids grew distant. The longest fight I had was with my parents, and it dragged on for nearly a year. My habit seemed immortal. Until an afternoon with my granddaughter opened my eyes to the impact my behaviour was having on the people around me. We were playing a board game when she made a move that broke the rules. I corrected her, but she ended up making the same mistake again. I read the rules out loud and asked if she got it this time. She smiled at me and shook her head. “Grandpa, why are you so stubborn?” she asked. “It’s just a game. We’ re here to have fun, aren’t we?” Something about her words really hit home. We weren’t there to be right, we were there to enjoy ourselves — how to move the pieces was merely a backdrop. What truly mattered was our bond and the moments we shared. A few days later, my son came over for dinner. During the meal, he shared a viewpoint that struck me as baseless. Typically, I would have launched myself headfirst into a heated debate with him. But this time, as I parted my lips to respond, I found myself popping a forkful of pie into my mouth instead, enjoying it quietly. My tolerance surprised me, but what really took my breath away as I listened to him was a newfound desire to understand him. This experience brought me a joy that far surpassed (超出) the fleeting satisfaction of winning an argument. In hindsight (事后想), my drive to win hadn’t really been about seeking the truth, but about showing I was better than everyone else. By letting go, I gained way more than I ever did by pushing back. Now I recognise that arguing at the dinner table is much like deciding to drink an extra cup of coffee. It is a matter of self-discipline. I had always understood this concept in theory, but it took a seven-year-old’s intervention for me to apply it. 24.What did the author’s passion for argument contribute to? A.Damaged relationship. B.Moral development. C.Troublesome children. D.Bittersweet marriage. 25.What did the author learn from his granddaughter’s words? A.Good habits were hard to develop. B.Rules didn’t work in a board game. C.Adults were more serious than kids. D.Connection was more vital than right. 26.What surprised the author most during the dinner? A.The awareness of tolerance. B.The flavour of the tasty food. C.The brief joy from winning. D.The urge to understand others. 27.Why does the author mention an extra cup of tea? A.To spread a complex concept. B.To highlight the need for truth. C.To identify the root of his habit. D.To compare two daily activities. 根据文章第一段“My fixation on being right had been a mainstay in my life and had often stirred up trouble in my family; there were moments when my marriage became strained and my kids grew distant.(我执着于正确已经成为我生活中的支柱,并且经常在家里引起麻烦;有时我的婚姻变得紧张,孩子们也变得疏远。)” 故选A。 25. 根据文章第二段“We weren’t there to be right, we were there to enjoy ourselves — how to move the pieces was merely a backdrop. What truly mattered was our bond and the moments we shared.(我们不是在那里为了争谁对谁错,我们是去那里享受自己——如何移动棋子只是背景。 根据文章第三段“But this time, as I parted my lips to respond, I found myself popping a forkful of pie into my mouth instead, enjoying it quietly. My tolerance surprised me, but what really took my breath away as I listened to him was a newfound desire to understand him.(但这次,当我张开嘴准备回答时,我发现自己反而把一勺馅饼送进了嘴里,静静地享受着。 根据文章最后一段“In hindsight, my drive to win hadn’t really been about seeking the truth, but about showing I was better than everyone else. By letting go, I gained way more than I ever did by pushing back. Now I recognise that arguing at the dinner table is much like deciding to drink an extra cup of coffee. C。 C When caught in the rain, we have all run for cover—often to a nearby tree. On the way, we step over short-lived puddles and hastily formed streams, marveling at how quickly the soil changes from supportive and predictable to untrustworthy: slippery, soft, and spongy. At the first chance we tend to flee, skipping further observation. Given that direct observations are often unfeasible, remote observation systems are crucial in capturing phenomena that are frequent and unpredictable. However, the Bimbache community of El Hierro observed water running down tree bark during fog events and captured it for drinking, washing and agriculture. If more contemporary hydrologists (水文学家) had watched the raking of fog by trees, forest managers may not have logged the Bull Run Watershed, which reduced local rainfall by 30%. Water science faces criticism because of “techno-optimism that tries to solve all problems despite not asking fundamental questions”. In fact, this issue extends beyond water science. An interdisciplinary research team led by John Van Stan from Cleveland State University argues that scientists should go beyond the laboratory to directly observe weather phenomena. The researchers insist that hands-on observation of storm events is crucial in comprehending the complexities of wet weather. “Natural scientists seem increasingly content to stay dry and rely on remote sensors and samplers, models, and virtual experiments to understand natural systems. Consequently, we can miss important stormy phenomena, imaginative inspiration, and opportunities to build intuition—all of which are critical to scientific progress,” said Van Stan’s team. This type of “umbrella science”, they warn, can miss important localized events. For instance, in describing rainwater’s flow from the forest treetops to the soils, the authors note that “if several branches efficiently capture and carry storm water to the stem, rainwater inputs to near-stem soils can be more than 100 times greater”. Likewise, water vapor (水蒸气) clouds trapped beneath forest treetop covers may escape remote detection, yet be sensitive to scientists on the ground. On a broader level, these oversights can affect ground Earth system models, which often underestimate forest treetop water storage. Direct observation, however, has gone beyond making up for the shortcomings of “umbrella science”. Van Stan and colleagues see core value in first-hand storm experiences—not only for natural scientists, but also students studying the impacts of climate change on ecosystems. 28.How do people tend to react to rain? A.In a defensive manner. B.In a scientific manner. C.With a wait-and-see attitude. D.With an observation-oriented attitude. 29.Which of the following words can replace the underlined word in paragraph 2? A.Impolite. B.Impossible. C.Inconvenient. D.Illogical. 30.What does Van Stan’s research team argue in terms of hands-on observation? A.It is effortless and precise. B.It is virtual and accepted. C.It is complex yet time-saving. D.It is crucial yet overlooked. 31. What is the text? A. A news report. B. A research paper. C. An argumentative essay. D. A descriptive passage. 根据第一段“When caught in the rain, we have all run for cover—often to a nearby tree.(下雨的时候,我们都会跑去躲雨——通常是跑到附近的一棵树上)”以及“At the first chance we tend to flee, skipping further observation.(一有机会我们就会逃跑,不去进一步观察)”可知,大多数人遇到雨时会迅速找地方躲避(例如躲在树下),一旦有机会,他们往往会立刻逃离,跳过进一步的观察,因此,人们对雨的反应是防御性的。故选A项。 29. 根据第三段“The researchers insist that hands-on observation of storm events is crucial in comprehending the complexities of wet weather.(研究人员坚持认为,对风暴事件的亲身观察对于理解潮湿天气的复杂性至关重要)”可知,该研究团队强调了亲身观测的重要性;根据第四段““Natural scientists seem increasingly content to stay dry and rely on remote sensors and samplers, models, and virtual experiments to understand natural systems. Consequently, we can miss important stormy phenomena, imaginative inspiration, and opportunities to build intuition—all of which are critical to scientific progress,” said Van Stan’s team.(“自然科学家似乎越来越满足于保持干燥,依靠远程传感器和采样器、模型和虚拟实验来了解自然系统。 C。 D As more and more species near extinction, scientists have been collecting samples from animals, plants and other creatures and storing them in biobanks across the globe. But climate change, environmental disasters and wars threaten these modern Noah’s arks. Now, a team of researchers is brainstorming an out-of-this-world solution: building one of these vaults (库) on the moon. A biobank in a permanently shadowed region at the moon’s south pole could be far more stable than those on Earth. This part of the moon usually remains around -196° Celsius, perfect for storing most animal cells long-term, marine biologist Mary Hagedorn and colleagues report in BioScience. Hagedorn and colleagues drew inspiration from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway which takes advantage of below-zero Arctic temperatures to preserve millions of seeds from around the world. In 2017, melting (融化) frozen soil threatened to flood the vault, highlighting the need for a backup plan. A different team has proposed building a lunar ark in lava (熔岩) tubes that run beneath the moon’s surface. But that design requires a solar-powered cooling system; any loss of power and the samples would be destroyed. In the moon’s forever-frozen shadowed regions, a lunar vault wouldn’t need energy or constant human maintenance, Hagedorn’s team says. Given the shadowy south pole’s low temperatures, Hagedorn says, a vault there could store “one of the most powerful cells that we have today” — fibroblasts. Scientists can transform these animal cells into stem cells, “and then those stem cells can be used for cloning,” she says. The cells could be valuable for regenerating populations of threatened or extinct species and for building ecosystems in future human settlements on the moon or Mars. The proposal has its share of barriers. For instance, the moon’s permanently dark regions aren’t free from temperature swings, says lunar scientist Benjamin Greenhagen of the Johns Hopkins University. “They are still cold but perhaps not always cold enough for this project without some level of temperature management.” 32.Why is the moon an ideal place for the biobank? A.It’s not affected by wars. B.It’s not environmentally polluted. C.It has proper temperatures. D.It has rich resources for research. 33.What led to Hagedorn’s proposal of a lunar biobank? A.The solar-powered cooling system. B.The lava tubes on the moon’s surface. C.The problem facing the Norway Vault. D.The discovery of ice on the lunar pole. 34.What can scientists use fibroblasts to do? A.Form stem cells for cloning. B.Explore moon soil conditions. C.Help land humans on the moon. D.Improve the eco-system of the earth. 35.What can be a suitable title for the text? A.Lunar Exploration: The Next Frontier for Cloning B.Relieving Climate Change: The Moon Biobank Project C.The Moon as a Backup: A New Solution for Seed Storage D.Building Biobanks on the Moon: A Proposal to Save Biodiversity 【答案】32.C 33.C 34.A 35.D 【导语】这是一篇说明文,文章主要讲述随着气候变化和人类活动对地球的威胁日益加剧,科学家们提议在月球上建立一个生物库,以保护地球上濒危物种。 32. 根据第二段中“This part of the moon usually remains around -196° Celsius, perfect for storing most animal cells long-term(月球的这一部分通常保持在零下196摄氏度左右,非常适合长期储存大多数动物细胞)”可知,月球温度适宜,是建立生物库的理想之地,故选C。 33. 根据第三段中“Hagedorn and colleagues drew inspiration from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway which takes advantage of below-zero Arctic temperatures to preserve millions of seeds from around the world. In 2017, melting (融化) frozen soil threatened to flood the vault, highlighting the need for a backup plan.(Hagedorn和他的同事们从挪威的斯瓦尔巴全球种子库获得了灵感,该种子库利用北极零下的温度保存了来自世界各地的数百万颗种子。 根据第四段中“Given the shadowy south pole’s low temperatures, Hagedorn says, a vault there could store “one of the most powerful cells that we have today” — fibroblasts. Scientists can transform these animal cells into stem cells, “and then those stem cells can be used for cloning,” she says.(Hagedorn说,鉴于南极阴暗地区的低温,那里的一个储藏室可以储存“我们今天拥有的最强大的细胞之一”——成纤维细胞。 Sometimes you may feel like privacy, as a concept, has disappeared from the world. 36 Thus they can serve up frighteningly accurate ads that make you think your phone’s microphone has been turned on and marketers are actively listening to your every word. They’re not—  yet. But they are engaged in something called “datamining”. This is the process of collecting enormous amounts of unknown data from your every connected activity and then analyzing that data to fill your life with advertisements and other influences. Datamining gives away your privacy. You may find it quite impossible to avoid. 37 Check settings carefully. When you install (安装) an app on your device, you probably click through a series of permissions, But an app may require many unnecessary permissions. You may doubt whether a game really needs access to your microphone, location, and camera. 38 Take the next line of defense: stop installing garbage free apps and spend that dollar. 39 Social media is very obviously a landfill when it comes to privacy. If your main goal on social media is to connect with friends or colleagues, restrict the reach of your posts to just those folks. And don’t expose your travel plans, spending habits, or product reviews out into the universe. Remember to log out. 40 And as long as you’re signed in, that ability continues — even if you leave the site. It’s an inconvenience indeed, but logging out of those services when you’re not actively using them and clearing cookies and history regularly can slowdown the mining of data. A.Be “boring” on social media. B.Mind your comments on social media. C.But you can minimize your exposure to it. D.Advertisers certainly seem to know everything about you. E.You should assume it is more of a data-mining app than anything else. F.Upon logging into platforms like Google, your activities are monitored. G.Online platforms have some hidden traps in which you will be cheated often. 36.设空处下文的“Thus they can serve up frighteningly accurate ads that make you think your phone’s microphone has been turned on and marketers are actively listening to your every word. 由此可知,D项“Advertisers certainly seem to know everything about you.(广告商似乎知道你的所有信息。)” 37.根据上文的“Datamining gives away your privacy. You may find it quite impossible to avoid.(数据挖掘泄露了用户隐私,你可能发现这不可避免。)” 可知,数据挖掘泄露用户隐私不可避免,由此可知,C项“But you can minimize your exposure to it.(但你可以尽量减少与它的接触。)” 以及根据空前的“But an app may require many unnecessary permissions. You may doubt whether a game really needs access to your microphone, location, and camera.(但应用程序可能需要许多不必要的权限。 且下文的“Take the next line of defense: stop installing garbage free apps and spend that dollar.(采取下一道防线:停止安装无垃圾应用程序和花掉那一美元。)” 由此可知,E 项“You should assume it is more of a data-mining app than anything else. 根据下文“ If your main goal on social media is to connect with friends or colleagues, restrict the reach of your posts to just those folks. And don’t expose your travel plans, spending habits, or product review s out into the universe. 由此可知,A 项“Be ‘boring’ on social media.(在社交媒体上表现得‘无聊’一些。)” 故选A。 40. ,根据下文的 “And as long as you’re signed in, that ability continues—even if you leave the site.” 由此可知,F项“Upon logging into platforms like Google, your activities are monitored. When I had my baby developing inside me for 21 weeks and suddenly gained 15 kilograms while throwing up every time I ate or drank I knew something was seriously 41 . My students presented a spectrum of challenges, ranging from mild learning disabilities to severe palsy. Mark was one of the latter, confined to a motorized wheelchair and constantly battling his spasms to maintain control over his movements. Despite this, he consistently exhibited a positive disposition, greeting everyone each morning with an expansive smile. His classmates held him in high regard and made a concerted effort to ensure his inclusion in group activities. This was particularly evident with Mike, Andy, and Lucas, three boys who excelled in sports. In my heart, I knew Mark aspired to be like them, unencumbered by the physical limitations that bound him, and the grace with which they navigated the playing field seemed to captivate him with a sense of wonder. He never missed their competitions and was always their most ardent supporter. Witnessing Mike, Andy, and Lucas cross the finish line, Mark’s excitement was palpable. On the day of the track and field event, Mike, Andy, and Lucas performed admirably in their heats, providing the typically tranquil crowd with ample reason to cheer. Mark, seated on the sidelines, enthusiastically cheered them on, though he finished last in his own heat due to the limitations of his wheelchair’s speed. The culminating event of the day was the 400-meter race, in which everyone was invited to participate, either by walking or running, according to their capabilities, around the entire circumference of the track. We observed as the sprinters launched into action — Mike, Andy, and Lucas, each intent on demonstrating their athletic prowess. However, as the trio of exhausted runners reached the finish line, they paused and turned to survey the scene behind them. At the rear of the crowd, resolutely determined not to be left behind, was Mark. His classmates had already surpassed him, and even the slowest walkers were outpacing him. Mark was alone on the track with over half the distance left to cover. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mark was moved to see his three friends come back and run with him. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 Mark was alone on the track with over half the distance left to cover. 词汇激活 行为类 ①围住:enfold/surround ②给某人加油:cheer sb. on/encourage sb. ③想象:imagine/visualize 情绪类 ①热情的:enthusiastic/passionate ②坚定的:determined/resolute 【点睛】【高分句型1】They jogged back towards their friend Mark and slowly enfolded him in a tight circle and kept pace, cheering him on as he had done for them moments before.(运用了现在分词cheering作状语、as引导方式状语从句) 【高分句型2】Seeing what they did, the whole field was boiling.(运用了现在分词作状语、what 引导宾语从句) 试卷第2页,共22页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 1 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 绝密★启用前 2025年高考考前信息必刷卷(新高考II卷)03 英 语 (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 考情速递 高考·新动向 2025年新高考将继续坚持“五育融合”,强化德育、智育、体育、美育和劳动教育的考查。 1.Why does the man feel upset? C When caught in the rain, we have all run for cover—often to a nearby tree. D As more and more species near extinction, scientists have been collecting samples from animals, plants and other creatures and storing them in biobanks across the globe. A.Lunar Exploration: The Next Frontier for Cloning B.Relieving Climate Change: The Moon Biobank Project C.The Moon as a Backup: A New Solution for Seed Storage D.Building Biobanks on the Moon: A Proposal to Save Biodiversity Sometimes you may feel like privacy, as a concept, has disappeared from the world. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第2页,共22页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 1 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
