冠词的用法 (一)不定冠词的用法 表示数量 “一”:与数词 one 有相似之处,但数词 one 更强调数量概念,不定冠词更侧重于泛指 “一个”。 如:“I have a pen.(我有一支钢笔。)” 泛指某一类人或事物:以其中一个代表整体类别。 例如:“A dog is a lovely pet.(狗是可爱的宠物。)” ,这里 “a dog” 代表狗这一类动物。 用于首次提及的人或事物前:在对话或文章中第一次提到某人或某物时使用。 比如:“There is a boy in the classroom.(教室里有个男孩。)” (二)定冠词的用法 特指双方都知道的人或事物:当说话双方都清楚所指的具体对象时,用定冠词。 例如:“Close the door, please.(请关上门。)” ,这里 “the door” 是双方都知道的那扇门。 指上文提到过的人或事物:在文章或对话中,前面已经提到过的人或事物,再次提及时用定冠词。 如:“I saw a bird. The bird was very beautiful.(我看到一只鸟。那只鸟非常漂亮。)” 用于世界上独一无二的事物前:像 “the sun(太阳)”“the moon(月亮)”“the earth(地球)” 等,因为这些事物在世界上是唯一的。 用在序数词和形容词最高级前:例如 “the first(第一)”“the best(最好的)” 。 “He is the tallest in our class.(他是我们班最高的。)” 用在乐器名词前:表示演奏某种乐器时,乐器名词前要加定冠词。 例如:“She can play the piano.(她会弹钢琴。)” (三)零冠词的用法 复数可数名词表示泛指时:不具体指某些特定的个体,而是表示这一类事物的全体。 如:“Trees are green in spring.(春天树是绿色的。)” 不可数名词表示泛指时:同样不强调具体的某一部分,而是整体概念。 例如:“Bread is made from flour.(面包是由面粉制成的。)” 在某些专有名词前:包括国家名(如 China、America)、城市名(如 Beijing、London)、人名(如 Tom、Mary)等,一般不用冠词。但由普通名词构成的专有名词前可能要用定冠词,像 “the United States(美国)” 。 在表示学科、球类运动、一日三餐等名词前: 例如 “math(数学)”“play football(踢足球)”“have breakfast(吃早餐)” 。 四、冠词使用的注意事项 (一)不定冠词 a/an 的选择误区 判断用 a 还是 an,不是看单词的首字母是元音字母还是辅音字母,而是看单词开头的音素是元音音素还是辅音音素。比如 “an hour(一小时)” ,“hour” 首字母是辅音字母 h,但发音以元音音素 /a / 开头;“a university(一所大学)” ,“university” 首字母是元音字母 u ,但发音以辅音音素 /ju / 开头。 (二)定冠词 the 的特殊用法 在一些固定短语中,定冠词的有无会影响短语的含义。例如 “in hospital(住院)” ,强调生病住院的状态;“in the hospital(在医院里)” ,只是说明在医院这个地点,不一定是因为生病。类似的还有 “at table(在吃饭)” 和 “at the table(在桌子旁)” 等。 (三)易混淆的冠词使用场景 在一些抽象名词前,使用不同冠词含义不同。例如 “life” ,“life is full of challenges.(生活充满挑战。)” 这里是泛指生活,用零冠词;“the life of a writer(一位作家的生活)” ,这里是特指作家的生活,用定冠词。 五、练习巩固 (一)用适当的冠词(a/an/the 或不填)填空 1.
