特殊疑问句是以特殊疑问词开头的以寻求信息为目的的疑问句,回答时不能用yes或no。特殊疑问句读时一般用降调。

特殊疑问句的结构
1. 特殊疑问词(组)+谓语动词+其他?
这类特殊疑问句往往对主语进行提问,这时特殊疑问词作句子的主语或者修饰主语。
Who is your Chinese teacher?谁是你们的语文老师?(提问主语)
Which boy is Tom?哪个男孩是汤姆?(提问定语,修饰主语boy)
2. 特殊疑问词(组)+助动词/情态动词+主语+实义动词(+其他)?
这类特殊疑问句主要对句子中除主语外的其他成分提问。
Why do you like the book?你为什么喜欢这本书?(提问原因)
When can you come back home?你什么时候能回家?(提问时间)

常见特殊疑问词(组)
what意为“什么”,引导特殊疑问句,常对姓名、物品、事件等进行提问。
句式结构:(1) What+be+主语(+其他)?
(2)What+助动词+主语+动词原形(+其他)?

—What do you like to do?你喜欢做什么?
—I like to play football.我喜欢踢足球。
—What’s your father’s job?
你爸爸从事什么职业?
—He is an English teacher.他是一名英语教师。
—What are those?那些是什么?
—They are flowers.它们是花。
How old的使用方式
直接询问对方年龄常用“How old are you?”其同义句: What’s one’s age? 回答为“I'm+数字(years old).”其中years old可以省略;询问他人年龄用“How old is she/he/your...?”回答为“She/He/My...is+数字(years old).”。但在西方国家个人年龄是隐私,询问别人的年龄被认为是不礼貌的。

How much的使用方式
1. 用来询问事物的价格,意思为“多少钱”
(1) 询问单数物品:How much is the/this + 单数名词?
回答:(It’s +) 数额.
— How much is the red T-shirt? 这件红色的T恤衫多少钱?
— It's ten dollars. 十美元。
注意:dollar与yuan的区别
“元”译成英文时,无论单复数,都为yuan,而dollar前数字要是大于1,需加s。

(2) 询问复数物品:How much are the / these / those + 复数名词?
回答:(They’re + )数额.
— How much are the black shoes? 这双黑鞋多少钱?
— They're eight dollars. 八美元。
注意:
名词socks短袜,shoes鞋子,trousers长裤,shorts短裤,glasses眼镜等都是不可分割的两部分组成一个物品,通常以复数形式出现。当这类名词作主语时,谓语动词用复数。

2. 可以用来用来询问事物的数量,后接不可数名词。
— How much milk is there in the glass? 杯子里还有多少牛奶?
— Only a little. 只有一点儿。
3. how much还可以用来询问程度的深浅。
How much do you love your school? 你多么热爱你的学校?
How many的使用方式
how many提问可数名词的量,后面接可数名词的复数形式。
—How many dancing classes do you have every week?
你每周有多少节舞蹈课?
—I have two. 我有两节。

We celebrate our own birthdays. We also celebrate the birthdays of our family and friends. Do you know of any other special birthdays? For example, we celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday, 23rd April, as English Language Day. And we celebrate International Nurses Day on l2th May. It marks the birthday of Florence Nightingale, a famous nurse.

(1)[形容词]一般放在形容词性物主代词或所有格之后,用以强调“某人自己的”。

on one’s own 独立地;独自(相当于by oneself)
