专题03 阅读理解之说明文15篇(名校模拟+地区真题)
(2025·广东深圳·模拟预测)We go to bed when we’re tired. However, we sometimes wake up feeling tired even though we’ve slept for ten hours. In fact, rest is much more than our nightly hours of shut-eye. Many of us are missing out on the other kinds of rest that we badly need.
The first kind of rest is physical rest. It can be passive (被动的) or active. Passive physical rest refers to sleeping, while active physical rest includes activities like yoga. These activities help your body relax.
Have you ever heard your parents or anyone else say that they have a hard time focusing on (集中注意力于) their work? Have they ever said that when they lie down at night to sleep, they have trouble “turning off” their brains as conversations from the day fill their thoughts? These people need mental (精神的) rest. You can advise them to take a short break every two hours throughout their workday. These breaks remind them to slow down a bit.
The third kind is sensory (感官的) rest. Bright lights, computer screens and background noise can make our senses feel tired. But this is easy to deal with. You can close your eyes for a minute in the middle of the day or put away your electronics for a while.
________ Allowing yourself to enjoy the beauty of nature—just in a local park—provides you with this kind of rest. You can also put your favorite artwork on your desk. Enjoying art is another great way to help you feel relaxed and think in new ways.
The last kind of rest is social rest. Spend some time with your family or friends. Try to open up to them and share the hard things that have been bothering you lately.
Now you know that getting enough sleep is only part of feeling truly rested. Think about what you enjoy and how your body and mind feel throughout the day. Remember, taking care of yourself is important, and getting the right kind of rest is a big part of that.

C.We can rest for a few minutes every two hours during our workday.
D.We can talk to our friends and share the terrible things we have met.

(2024·广东深圳·三模)Human voices produce much more fear in wild animals than the sound of lions, a study in South Africa has found.
Scientists played recordings of people talking normally through speakers hidden at water holes in the Kruger National Park. About 95% of animals were completely scared and quickly ran away. Compared with human voices, recordings of angry roaring lions elicited much less alarm.
During the experiment they noted that some elephants even tried to walk towards the sound when hearing the lion calls. The study’s findings suggest that the animals including elephants and giraffes have learnt that being close to humans is completely dangerous. It is the result of hunting, the use of guns and the use of dogs to catch them.
The fear that animals show goes further than the Kruger National Park. A worldwide research shows wildlife fears humans more than any other animal-killers, according to the study.
The researchers note that this produces a difficult task for areas which depend on wildlife tourism, because the human visitors they want to attract are scaring off the animals that they come to see. The findings also open up the possibility to protect endangered animals in the wild. Human sounds, when used properly, could help protect against hunting. “We are working on experiments testing whether we can stop endangered animals from coming to hot hunting areas,” the researchers said.
1.What has the study in South Africa found?
A.Humans are more afraid of lions than wild animals.
B.Wild animals are more afraid of lions than humans.
C.Wild animals are more afraid of humans than lions.
D.Lions are more afraid of humans than wild animals.
2.What does the underlined word “elicited” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A.Avoid. B.Cause. C.Catch. D.Attack.

A.They stood still quietly. B.They ran away quickly.
C.They got ready to fight. D.They headed for the sound.
4.Which is NOT the reason why humans are dangerous to animals?
A.Humans hunt the animals. B.Guns are used a lot by humans.
C.Humans use dogs to catch animals. D.Human voices are harmful to animals.

(2024·广东深圳·一模)It might sound like magic, but in February, a paralyzed (瘫痪的) patient was able to drink water on his own by controlling a special glove with his brain. The glove then acted as his hand. This was a success in brain-machine interface (BMI,脑机接口) technology made by a team of Chinese scientists and doctors.
BMI refers to creating a connection between the human brain and external devices (外部设备), making communication between the brain and computers. For paralyzed people, BMI can allow them to move and do simple things by themselves.
On Oct.24, 2023, the team put a BMI chip (芯片) in the patient’s head. The chip can receive neural signals from the brain. After three months of home recovery training, the patient can now use his brain signals to control a special glove powered by air pressure. This helps him do things like drinking water independently.
BMI technology usually means putting chips directly onto the patient’s brain. However, this project is minimally invasive (微创的), making sure the patient’s brain is not harmed. So it is an important breakthrough. It also uses a wireless power supply (无线电源), so the implanted (植入的) device doesn’t need a battery.
In China, BMI technology is still in the early stages of research, with no products on the market yet. Some people are worried that tests may influence patients’ independence and even who they are. Ethical concerns (伦理问题) related to BMI also need to be addressed. These include whether the patient has a clear understanding of what is going on when they agree to take part in the test.
1.What does the term “brain-machine interface” refer to in the context of the text?
A.Connecting the human brain to external devices.
B.Creating a connection between two brains.
C.Making communication between computers and machines.
D.Enhancing brain power through technology.
2.How did the paralyzed patient in the text control the special glove to drink water?
A.By using his hands. B.By speaking commands.
C.By controlling it with his brain signals. D.By pressing buttons on the glove.
3.Which of the following word can replace the underlined word “breakthrough” in Paragraph 4?
A.experiment B.creation C.mistake D.achievement
4.Why is the BMI technology mentioned in the text considered minimally invasive?
A.Because it uses wireless power supply. B.Because it does not require a battery.
C.Because it does not harm the patient’s brain. D.Because it connects directly to the patient’s brain.
5.What do we know from the last paragraph?
A.Patients can buy products with BMI technology.

(2024·广东深圳·二模)Several stick puppets dressed in traditional costumes are playing and having fun on the stage. They can change their facial expressions and do difficult movements. The puppeteers use three rods to control the puppets from below. This amazing art needs hard work from people like Wang Maowei, a 40-year-old puppet maker from Xiaoyi in Shanxi.
Stick puppets have a long history in Xiaoyi. They became popular during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Wang fell in love with puppet-making when he was a teenager and decided to focus on learning this skill. In 2008, Xiaoyi’s stick puppets were recognized as part of China’s national cultural heritage.

(2024·广东深圳·三模)Since humans sent the first satellite to space in the 1950s, scientists have been studying an important topic: how to grow food in space if humans will one day live there. A recent experiment at the Tiangong space station makes a big step forward.
Chinese astronauts have successfully grown rice seedlings (幼苗) during the Shenzhou XⅣ task. “The rice seedlings are growing very well,” said Zheng Huiqiong, a researcher from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since the rice experiment began on July 29, the seedlings of the tall shoot rice variety (品种) have reached a height of 30 centimeters. The seedlings of the short shoot rice variety have grown to 5 centimeters, China Daily reported on Aug. 30.
While there have been other rice experiments in space, this one is the first of its kind to produce the complete life cycle of a plant—it begins with a seed and ends with a grown plant producing new seeds.
Such food-growing experiments are not just for astronauts. They can also solve food problems on Earth. By sending seeds to space, we can change the genes of seeds, thanks to micro-gravity, the special space light and the lack (缺乏) of air. Then, the production of these seeds is greatly increased on Earth.
For more than 30 years, China has developed over 260 new types of seeds in space. They are widely planted in the field every year.
According to Yao Tong, an engineer from a research center, 30 percent of strawberries sold in Beijing are “space strawberries”, which are as big as eggs. The center has also produced “space tomatoes” with the production increased by 30 percent, and “space bananas” with a growth shortened from 13 months to 9 months.
1.Why does the writer mention the first satellite sent by humans in Paragraph 1?

What is your first impression of bamboo in China? Is it only a kind of plant on the food list of pandas? No! It is also used in single bamboo drifting (漂), an intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) passed from the ancient times among the people in Guizhou Province.
Single bamboo drifting has been performed for more than 2, 000 years. In the past, people who lived on the bank of the Chishui River used it as a method to go across the river. Now, with the development of modern society, this skill has been regarded as a sport or a special way of performance by local people.
Middle school students in Guizhou practise the sport and compete in the Chinese National Games. The requirements of the sport are simple, yet demanding! Athletes must balance on a bamboo pole (杆), only as wide as one’s foot, and guide it down the river with a thin stick. But there’s more than just guiding.

(2024·广东深圳·三模)Scientists have grown plants in soil that came from the Moon. The plants didn’t grow as well as those grown in soil from Earth, but the experiment marks an important step towards growing plants on the Moon.
The Moon’s soil is called “regolith (风化层),” and there’s not a lot of it on Earth. Most of it was collected over 50 years ago during different space trips. Because the regolith is so valuable, it took the scientists many years to use it.
The scientists didn’t receive much soil. The regolith came from three different space trips. Some soil was taken from the top layer (层) of the Moon’s surface, while the rest came from deeper layers. Different soil depths helped scientists understand how different layers of Moon soil affect plant growth. The scientists chose a special plant for their experiment. It’s a small plant related to broccoli that can grow in very little soil. Scientists know a lot about the DNA of this plant, which helps them understand how it grows in the soil it’s planted in. The plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, is widely used in research due to its simple genes and rapid growth. By studying changes in the DNA of the plants growing in the Moon’s soil, scientists may one day find new ways to help plants grow better in the Moon’s soil. This research is important for long trips to the Moon and future efforts to live in space.
“The ability to take plants successfully with us to the Moon is how we’ll grow our own food,” said one of the researchers. “Showing that plants will grow in the Moon’s soil is actually a huge step in that direction.” The experiment’s success opens the door for future progress in growing food in space.

(2024·广东深圳·三模)Mangrove forests (红树林) are very important to coastal environments. About 35% of all sea life depends on mangrove forests at some point in their life. Unfortunately, this year, cutting down trees and rising sea levels have greatly affected mangrove forests worldwide. In the Gulf of Thailand, the state of mangrove forests is especially concerning. Compared with healthy mangroves those in the Gulf of Thailand show clear differences. Firstly, healthy mangroves have thick roots which provide shelter to sea creatures, while unhealthy mangroves are often empty and broken. Secondly, they offer different environmental benefits. Healthy mangroves protect coastlines from being worm away and provide safe places for fish and other sea life to breed (繁殖).
However, damaged mangroves lose these abilities, leading to increased wearing away of the coast and fewer kinds of sea life.
The recent decrease in fish populations in the Gulf of Thailand is likely linked to the state of mangrove forests. Harmful human activities, such as cutting down trees and pollution, harm the mangroves and upset the food chain, changing the habitat for various sea creatures. Additionally, water pollution and climate change have made the condition of mangrove environments worse, forcing sea animals to move to other areas.

(24-25九年级下·广东深圳·开学考试)Are you troubled by housework, such as cleaning tables or tidying your room? Do you need a helping hand? Recently, the robot Mobile Aloha made by scientists at Standford University in the US became popular online. In the video posted, we can see the robot preparing dishes on its own. It’s also good at watering plants, petting cats, cleaning the floor and washing clothes.
Sounds good! Well, another video posted by researchers may disappoint some people. Mobile Aloha isn’t good at doing housework on its own. Instead, it learns from human actions before doing each kind of housework. When the situation changes, it can’t work well without a human “teaching” it. So it may break dishes, bump into things and even burn a pot.
The robot can successfully move chairs 80 percent of the time, said the team after they did more research on it. For cooking dishes, it’s only 40 percent. In short, it’s far from perfect.
In fact, AI robots are good at tasks such as math and playing chess, but they face challenges when it comes to simpler actions like cleaning. And it’s the same for Mobile Aloha. For example, if its body doesn’t move correctly—even just with a small deviation, its arm may move too far to pick up a glass.
“Robots are not ready to take over the world,” the team posted online.

While keeping balance on the narrow bamboo pole with the thin stick, the athletes are performing skills and tricks. Jumping and push-ups are some of the most common ones, and those who are more experienced often use their imagination to try out more difficult moves.
Yang Liu, a 25-year-old “water fairy (仙人)” from Zunyi, Guizhou, dancing on the river in traditional Chinese costume, is an inheritor (继承人) of single bamboo drifting. For over ten years, combining drifting with dancing, Yang has put fresh energy into this traditional art. It’s not easy to stand, let alone dance on a single bamboo.
1.What can we learn from Paragraph 1?
A.The plants in the Moon’s soil grew better than those in Earth’s soil.
B.Scientists have successfully grown plants on the Moon.
C.The plants in the Moon’s soil didn’t grow as well as in Earth’s soil.
D.Plants cannot grow in Moon soil at all.
2.Why did it take the scientists many years to be allowed to use “regolith”?
A.It cannot be used to grow plants. B.It was kept by space programs.
C.It was collected from the Moon. D.It is very valuable.
3.What can we infer about the plant chosen for the experiment?
A.It would change its DNA. B.It needed little soil.
C.It could grow well in the regolith. D.Scientists know little about its DNA.
4.Why are scientists studying DNA changes in plants grown in Moon soil?
A.To learn about the history of the Moon. B.To create new types of plants for space.
C.To improve the quality of Moon soil. D.To understand how plants grow in different environments.
5.What is the main ides nf the passage?
A.Scientists grew plants in Moon soil. B.Astronauts returned to Earth safely.

The beautiful mangrove forests are very valuable for keeping coastal environments healthy. Efforts to protect and restore these forests are very important for saving sea life diversity (多样性) and supporting the ways of life of coastal communities.
1.What has caused the harm to mangrove forests this year?

(24-25九年级下·广东深圳·开学考试)You must have heard of “city bu city”(meaning city or not city), an internet buzzword (流行语) created by foreign blogger Baobaoxiong. It’s used to ask if a place feels like a big, fashionable city.
Millions of foreigners like Baobaoxiong are visiting China much more easily due to the visa-free transit policy (过境免签政策). Travelers from 54 countries can stay in China for up to six days without a visa as long as they have a travel document (文件) and a connecting ticket (联运机票) to leave.
The visa-free transit policy started in 2013. Back then, it allowed travelers to stay for 72 hours in seven different big cities in China. Now, travelers can stay for 144 hours in 41 places across provincial areas. It has attracted more travelers to China.
