A nearby theater was showing a documentary (纪录片) about several local animal shelters that were helping to save abandoned dogs across the country. I love animals, and I felt an urge to go to this fundraising event. However, none of my co-workers would go with me, and I was worried about walking on the street alone at night. I resigned myself to spending the evening in my hotel room, but as soon as I got back to my room I felt restless and bored. The theater where the event was taking place was only about five blocks from the hotel, and the area around the hotel didn’t seem particularly dangerous. So, I decided to brave it. I gathered up my wallet and room key and set off. It was already getting dark and the streets were nearly deserted. I managed to find the street the theater was on, but when I turned the corner, I stopped in shock. In front of the theater were a group of bikers–very big, tough-looking bikers. I’ve known lots of motorcycle enthusiasts and most are nice people. However, in this case, I was a woman all alone, in a strange neighborhood, at night, and there were twenty or so very large men–all wearing insignia (徽章) that indicated they were in some sort of club–standing before me. Warning bells began to sound in my head, and my heart was pounding. Was I at the right theater? Had I misread the date of the event? A sign outside the theater told me that I was in the right place on the right evening. Nevertheless, I wondered if I should rush back to my hotel instead of walking through that crowd of bikers. I finally decided that I would be safer inside the theater. Hopefully, the bikers would have gone away by the time the film was over. Paragraph 1: I hurried into the theater, only to find there were even more bikers inside. Paragraph 2: When the film began, I realized that the bikers were an animal rescue group. A MOTHER’S DAY SURPRISE The twins were filled with excitement as they thought of the surprise they were planning for Mother’s Day. How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed. They planned to make French toast and chicken porridge. They had watched their mother in the kitchen. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do. The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. Jenna found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jeff turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely. Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jeff to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff’s hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the pan had turned black as well. As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up. “Was I at the right theater?” → “Their leader... told me, ‘Our hearts are soft for these animals.’” “My heart was pounding.” → “I felt my earlier fear dissolve into admiration.” “I hurried into the theater, only to find there were even more bikers inside.” “Warning bells began to sound in my head.” → “Their tough exteriors melted away.” 心理描写 紧张不安→放松感动 “My heart skipped a beat.” → “I felt my earlier fear dissolve into a deep sense of admiration.” 动作描写 停下、犹豫、靠近、交谈 “I hesitated by the entrance.” → “I couldn’t resist approaching one of them.” “The streets were nearly deserted.” → “The room was buzzing with their chatter and laughter.” “Warning bells began to sound.” → “That night, I walked back... inspired by the kindness.” 空间转换 街道 → 剧院入口 → 剧院内部 “I managed to find the street the theater was on.” → “I cautiously moved to an empty seat.” 时间过渡 夜晚到活动结束 “It was already getting dark.” → “By the time the credits rolled...” 衔接点分析: · 原文心理描写: o “Warning bells began to sound in my head.” o “My heart was pounding.” · 原文动作描写: o “I finally decided that I would be safer inside the theater.” o “I gathered up my wallet and room key and set off.” Falling Action (解决:真相揭晓) 1. 1. She hesitated briefly at the door, clutching her purse tightly. 2. He glanced around nervously, avoiding eye contact with the crowd. 3. The woman’s steps quickened as she approached the entrance. 1. Her thoughts raced as she tried to suppress her rising panic. 2. Doubts crept into her mind, leaving her torn between staying and fleeing. 3. Relief flooded her heart when she realized the truth. 1. The dimly lit street seemed to stretch endlessly into the shadows. 2. A faint breeze carried the distant hum of city life, amplifying her unease. 3. The theater’s warm glow contrasted sharply with the chilly night air. 非谓语动词: o “Feeling an urge to go to this fundraising event...” o 示例:Driven by curiosity, she decided to stay. 2. 过去完成时: o “Had I misread the date of the event?” o 示例:She wondered if she had overreacted. 表达紧张:warning bells + began to sound 2. 心理活动:feel restless and bored 3. 徽章 § Synonyms: badge, emblem § Example: The soldiers wore their insignia proudly. o Urge: n. 强烈的欲望 § Synonyms: impulse, desire § Example: He felt an urge to speak up. 2025 范文赏析 历年高考英语读后续写真题分析 04 21 Paragraph 1: I hurried into the theater, only to find there were even more bikers inside. The sight made my heart skip a beat.
