Bill refused my plan. 4. even though = even if意为“即使，纵然，尽管”，引导让步状语从句，可放在句首或句中。 eg. Even though the work was hard, they enjoyed themselves. Mr.Lee went on working even though he was ill. 注意：even though和but不能同时出现在同一个句子中。 5. not...any longer = no longer 意为“不再”,表示时间上“不再”延续。 eg. I don’t want to wait for hi any longer. = I no longer want to wait for him. not...any more = no more 表示次数上或程度上“不再”。 eg.
