When my son was a high school senior, he took control of the gifting by offering to drive us to Denny’s for breakfast. But the evening before the holiday, I couldn’t sleep. What kept me awake was the realization that this would be the last Father’s day before my kid left for college. It truly felt like I had just taken the training wheels off my son’s bike. In my household, the fridge door is the all-knowing parental focus holding the academic and sports schedules, the school lunch menu, and the family calendar. Also attached to it are photos, awards, artwork, and the “good” report cards. The refrigerator is a super-sized memory book of my son’s life. I began to go through the objects of significant emotional value, which required me to pull the fridge out because all the baby items were pushed to the sides. As I checked the golden oldies, I quickly realized three things. First, I had too many photos. Second, I needed to clear up the sides of the refrigerator. Third, soccer was a big part of our lives. I never played or watched soccer before parenthood. Yet, I became the coach for all his teams until he reached middle school. Back then I assumed it was my fatherly duty to support my son’s activities, but now I understood that I was wrong. After years of supporting, guiding, and loving my son, I finally recognized that taking part in my son’s life on any level was not a duty — it was an honor. I time-traveled through mementos (纪念品 ), and each memory helped me understand what being a dad really meant. Teenagers might not give us presents we want or need on Father’s day. But they have already given us the best possible gift — allowing us to feel what it’s like to be their dad. 24.What kept the author awake before Father’s day? A.Planning a surprise for his father. B.Reflecting on his poor father-son relationship. C.Feeling emotional about a special Father’s day. D.Getting excited about the breakfast at Denny’s. 25.Why is the fridge important to the family? A.It adds an artistic touch to the house. B.It holds memories of passing family days. C.It is a source of creativity for school lunch. D.It serves as a gathering place for family members. 26.Why did the author pull out the fridge? A.To redecorate its sides. B.To clear up the kitchen. C.To make room for a new one. D.To uncover personal mementos. 27.Why did the author claim that he was wrong in the last but one paragraph? A.He recognized he had too many photos. B.He regretted not playing soccer before parenthood. C.He realized fatherhood was about pride rather than a task. D.He felt ashamed to let his son take control of the gifting. 思思想政治 英语试题 第5页 共10页 C With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, DeepSeek, a Chinese AI company, has emerged as a pioneer in educational technology. Its latest model, DeepSeek-R1, combines advanced machine learning methods to provide personalized learning solutions for students worldwide. Unlike traditional AI models that rely on pre-programmed answers, DeepSeek-R1 uses reinforcement (强化) learning to simulate human reasoning. This allows it to guide students through problem-solving step by step, much like a patient tutor. For example, when a student struggles with a math equation, DeepSeek-R1 doesn’t just give the answer; it breaks down the logic, identifies errors, and encourages critical thinking. The model’s applications extend beyond academics. In language learning, it analyzes students’ pronunciation through AI speech recognition and offers real-time feedback. For teachers, DeepSeek-R1 can generate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and even predict students’ learning difficulties based on historical data. Its “adaptive testing” feature creates customized quizzes that adjust difficulty according to individual progress. However, challenges remain. Critics argue that over-reliance on AI might reduce human interaction in education. DeepSeek’s developers address this by emphasizing its role as a “supplement, not a replacement.” As Dr. Li, a DeepSeek researcher, stated, “Our goal is to free teachers from repetitive tasks so they can focus on inspiring creativity.” Looking ahead, DeepSeek aims to integrate virtual reality (VR) into its platform, allowing students to explore historical events or scientific concepts in immersive 3D environments. While ethical debates about AI in education persist, one thing is clear: tools like DeepSeek are reshaping how we learn, blending technology with human wisdom. 28.What makes DeepSeek-R1 different from traditional AI models? A.It uses pre-programmed answers. B.It focuses on memorization techniques. C.It replaces teachers in classrooms. D.It employs reinforcement learning for reasoning. 29.The underlined word “adaptive” in Paragraph 3 most likely means ______. A.fixed B.adjustable C.complicated D.outdated 30.What can be inferred about DeepSeek’s future plans? A.VR technology will enhance interactive learning. B.It will eliminate all classroom activities. C.It prioritizes profit over educational values. D.Teachers will lose their jobs to AI. 31.What is the main purpose of the passage? A.To advertise DeepSeek products. B.To criticize the risks of AI in schools. C.To discuss AI’s role in transforming education. D.To compare different AI models. 思思想政治 英语试题 第6页 共10页 D Socrates declared that the unexamined life wasn’t worth living for a human being, implying that we should attempt to know ourselves, to think through our actions, choices, prejudices, and attitudes. But when it comes to thinking about our own happiness and what makes our lives go well, it really does seem that this reflective attitude can ruin our chances of finding what we seek. Perhaps it’s not surprising that we are better designed for engaging in other activities than reflecting on how best to achieve our own happiness and well-being. Doing things that enhance our growth in physical, social and intellectual areas tends to bring the reward of feeling good, and so stimulates us further to pursue those activities. Sitting around reflecting on what will make us happy is a lot less efficient than chasing the things that make us happy, and if we think too much, there is an opportunity cost — time that we could have spent in a worthwhile activity has gone while we were thinking deeply about the best way to develop. The philosopher David has written about the role of reflective thinking in sports. One of his observations is that while sportspeople need to think about the basic actions they are performing, it can be counterproductive to start thinking about the elements making up those actions. A footballer needs to think about kicking the ball low and hard to the left of the goalkeeper, but not to overthink the mechanics of the precise small movements of legs and feet that produce that outcome. If he or she does start this sort of thought process, it very often leads to a poorer shot. What’s needed is a kind of automatic response to the situation. Perhaps something similar is going on in our life. Those people who start detailed programs of self-development in various dimensions, focusing on diet, habits, exercise, mental activity, work output, and so on, are like the footballer thinking through the small muscle movements. Perhaps their well-meaning self-reflection on their own development and how they want to achieve it, is the very thing that will make a high level of development forever unobtainable for them. 32.What may cause an opportunity cost? A.Spending time on worthy activities. B.Joining in social meetings actively. C.Getting stuck in much self-reflection. D.Doing physical exercises efficiently. 33.Why does the author mention David’s observations? A.To praise a wise philosopher. B.To teach readers football skills. C.To cite a case of overthinking. D.To argue for reflective thinking. 34.What does the author suggest readers do to achieve their goals? A.Make a comprehensive plan. B.Adopt a direct approach. C.Think carefully before action. D.Attach importance to details. 35.What is a suitable title for this text? A.The Risk of Overthinking B.The Key to Well-being C.The Way to Think Reflectively D.The Method to Develop Yourself 思思想政治 英语试题 第7页 共10页 第二节(共 5小题;每小题 2.5分,满分 12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 The California road trip down Highway 1 is iconic. 36 It’s a dream trip for people who like to drive cars. So when I was offered the opportunity to do that trip in an electric vehicle (EV) — sort of reimagining that classic road trip without contributing to climate change — I decided to give it a try. I picked up my electric car, a Tesla, at San Francisco International Airport. I was worried that it would have a steep learning curve, but it was really like any other car. 37 However, it took me less than 30 minutes to adjust to all these things. The ride itself was smooth, and it felt the same as driving a traditional car. It had so much power and that surprised me. It can go very fast, very quickly, even on the steep hills the region is known for. My biggest concern at the beginning of this EV road trip was running out of battery life in the middle of nowhere. 38 I had no idea how advanced the infrastructure for EVs would be on my route. Before I left, I just checked Google Maps for charging stations and a couple of forums to make sure an all-EV road trip was possible, at least in theory. When I picked up the car, it said I could go more than 250 miles on one charge. 39 I’d also heard that some electric cars use a lot of electricity if you turn on the heat, but I never turned on the heat because it was the perfect temperature during my trip. Beyond the ease and convenience of ecotourism, it felt good to be driving an EV in this area too. Not that EVs don’t pollute at all, but it was a good feeling to not be doing the opposite of what I should do in that beautiful landscape. You’ve got a silent car, you don’t disturb the animals, and you don’t pollute the air. 40 . A.I never tested that on the trip. B.I didn’t like eco-friendly cars at all. C.I’m not the fastest guy with electronics. D.Almost everyone knows about that route. E.It’s a lot more eco-friendly than a normal car. F.I had never driven an eco-friendly car before. G.The route is well-known for its rough conditions. Last summer, a memorable mountain-climbing adventure with my classmates etched itself deeply into my memory. We loved to play together after school and our favorite pastime was flying colorful kites in the open field near the large oak tree (橡树). One sunny Saturday, we met up to play. We all had our kites ready, beautifully decorated with bright colors and patterns. The wind was just right, so it was a perfect day to let our kites soar (翱翔). After a while, we decided to have a competition— who could fly the kite the highest. The field echoed (回响) with our joyful laughter as we each took turns, our eyes gleaming with anticipation. However, as I let my kite fly high up into the sky, a gust of wind blew it off course. It got tangled (使缠结) in the branches of the large oak tree that stood tall in the field. I was disappointed but determined. I decided to climb the tree to rescue my kite. My friends looked at me nervously as I started my climb, the tree towering over them. As I climbed higher and higher, the others watched with bated breath (屏住呼吸 ). They were worried but also a little excited. After all, it was quite an adventure to see me climbing so high. Suddenly, I felt something wrong. I was stuck! The branch I was standing on was slippery and I couldn’t seem to move. My friends looked at me with wide, scared eyes. They didn’t know how to help me. They just shouted words of encouragement, assuring me that I could do it. I tried my best to move, but I was scared and my heart was pounding hard. Suddenly, I lost my footing and fell! My friends gasped in shock. Fortunately, I didn’t fall from a high height, but it was enough to hurt my arm badly. I cried out in pain. Mia and Ruby quickly ran over to me while Danny ran to fetch an adult. I was sobbing, my arm throbbing with pain. My friends were there by my side, comforting me. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 The townsfolk (镇民) soon arrived and their expressions etched with concern and alarm. One of them, a seasoned elder with a knowing gaze, carefully examined my arm and solemnly declared that it might be broken. Without any hesitation, they carried me on the stretcher towards the nearby hospital, their footsteps hurried and determined. These townsfolks and my friends had been making tricks, telling funny stories and making faces, trying their best to make me smile, which seemed to make me feel a little better. But they failed to make me happy because of the pain. The intense pain had been overwhelming my soul on our way, my hands waving chaotically in the air. After what seemed a century in the hospital, I ultimately made it. Not surprisingly, after the doctor’s examination, I was diagnosed with a fracture and arranged to be hospitalized. Lying on the bed, I stared at those who cared about me, feeling a warm current into my heart. All of a sudden, my friends pulled out a kite, my losing kite! With tears in my eyes, the words, which I had read again and again on the textbook, echoed in my mind. “Without friendship the world is but a wilderness.”——Of Friendship by Francis Bacon 【语篇导读】本文主题是人与自我,作者与三个好朋友(Danny、Mia和Ruby)在一个阳光明媚的周六放风 筝时,作者的风筝被吹到了大橡树上,于是作者决定爬树去救风筝,但在树上被困住并最终不慎摔落受伤,朋 友们在身边安慰和鼓励他。 Text1 W : Do you know who made that awful mess in the kitchen? Text10 W : A heart-broken image captures a young polar bear sleeping on the melting pieces of a tiny iceberg. British part- time photographer Nima Sarikhani captured the scene in Svalbard, which sits deep inside the Arctic Circle, around 500 miles from the North Pole. The image was crowned the winner of this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award. After three days of desperately searching for polar bears through thick fog, Sarikhani finally spotted two polar bears— a younger male and an older male. Just before midnight, as the ship got close to the bears, the younger one climbed onto a small iceberg and carved out a bed with his paws before falling asleep. Sarikhani said this photograph has caused strong emotions in many of those who have seen it. An estimated 26,000 polar bears remain in the wild, and they are at the risk of dying out as rising temperatures melt away the sea ice these animals depend on. Director of the Natural History Museum said, “The heart breaking image allows us to seethe beauty and fragility of our planet. His thought-provoking image is a striking reminder of the essential bond between an animal and its habitat and serves as a visual representation of the harmful impacts of climate warming and habitat loss. ” Sarikhani said he hoped his photograph could inspire hope. He added there is still time to fix the mess we have caused. null
