More information about Ryan's Well Foundation The Ryan's Well Foundation is a Canadian charitable organization. It aims at providing effective and sustainable access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in the poorest regions of developing countries. The Foundation grew from the passion and courage of a six-year-old boy, Ryan Hreljac. Ryan was inspired to take action as a grade one student when he learnt of the consequences for people without access to safe drinking water. He was determined as he succeeded in rallying his community to help him raise the funds needed to build one well in Uganda, Africa. Since its beginning in 2001, the Foundation has improved the lives of more than 996,128 vulnerable people through the construction of over 1,429 community-led clean water projects and 1,255 latrines.
