I saw Mr. Li. The sun is shining in the sky. The flowers are smiling to me.(太阳当空照。 I saw Mr. Li and I felt happy.(我见到李老师,我感到非常开心。) The sun is shining in the sky and the flowers are smiling to me.(太阳当空照,花儿对我笑。) When I saw Mr. Li, I felt happy.(当我见到李老师时,我感到非常开心。) The sun is shining in the sky while the flowers are smiling to me.(太阳当空照,花儿对我笑。) The sun shining in the sky, the flowers smiling to me.(太阳当空照,花儿对我笑。) 或者:With the sun shining in the sky, the flowers smiling to me.(太阳当空照,花儿对我笑。) The girl staring at him, he didn't know what to say. 解释:这里,“The girl”是逻辑主语,“staring at him”是现在分词短语,表示正在进行的动作,修饰“the girl”。 Time permitting, we will go for an outing tomorrow. 解释:“Time”是逻辑主语,“permitting”是现在分词,表示条件,相当于“if time permits”。 Her heart still racing, she reached over and turned up the oil lamp. The problems solved, the quality has been improved. 解释:“The problems”是逻辑主语,“solved”是过去分词,表示被动完成的动作,相当于“after the problems were solved”。 Her glasses broken, she couldn't see the words on the blackboard. The signal given, the train started. 解释:“The signal”是逻辑主语,“given”是过去分词,表示被动动作,相当于“after the signal was given”。 3. An air accident happened, nobody alive. So many people absent, the meeting had to be called off. 解释:“So many people”是逻辑主语,“absent”是形容词,说明状态,相当于“because so many people were absent”。 He entered the room, his nose red with cold. 解释:“his nose”是逻辑主语,“red with cold”是形容词短语,说明“his nose”的状态。 4. He put on his sweater, wrong side out. 解释:“wrong side out”是副词短语,说明“put on his sweater”的状态,表示毛衣穿反了。 The meeting over, they all went home. 解释:“The meeting”是逻辑主语,“over”是副词,说明会议的状态,相当于“after the meeting was over”。 Dinner over, we decided to play bridge. 解释:“Dinner”是逻辑主语,“over”是副词,说明晚饭的状态,相当于“after dinner was over”。 5. The boy goes to the classroom, book in hand. The old man stood under a large tree, pipe in mouth. 解释:“pipe in mouth”是介词短语,说明“the old man”的状态,表示老人嘴里含着烟斗。 A robber burst into the room, knife in hand. His first shot failure, he fired again. 解释:“His first shot failure”说明“he fired again”的原因,表示第一次射击失败后,他再次射击。 Two hundred people died in the accident, many of them children. 解释:“many of them children”补充说明“Two hundred people”的特征,表示死者中有许多是儿童。 The doctor has two daughters, one a nurse, the other an engineer. 解释:“one a nurse, the other an engineer”说明“two daughters”的具体身份。 7. He is going to make a model plane, some old parts to help. 解释:“some old parts to help”表示目的,说明“some old parts”将被用来帮助制作飞机模型。 They said good-bye to each other, one to go home, the other to go to the bookstore. 解释:“one to go home, the other to go to the bookstore”说明两人分别的去向。 He suggested going for a picnic, Mary to provide the food. 解释:“Mary to provide the food”说明“going for a picnic”时,玛丽负责提供食物。 8. There being nothing else to do, we went home. 解释:“There being nothing else to do”表示原因,相当于“because there was nothing else to do”。 There being no further business, I declare the meeting closed. There were still a few customers who couldn’t decide what to buy. One lady tested all the lipsticks on the shelf. Her friend was busy with the sunglasses. They must be tourists with lots of time on their hands. I had a fake smile glued on my face as I waited behind the counter for them to make up their minds. They walked out without buying anything. Then it was ten minutes past 5:00. They wasted my time. Sometimes I wondered if this was really what life was about. Working from 8:00am to 5:00pm, I caught just a glimpse of the sunrise on my way to work every morning. I wished I could stand on that hill and wait for the sun to rise. It felt like life was slipping through my fingers and that I never enjoyed the little things in life that would make me happy. Going home after a day’s work wasn’t much relief. At home, a family was waiting for my attention. While preparing dinner, I put the laundry in the washing machine and took care of the pets. After dinner, it was time to wash the dishes while the rest of the family relaxed with their own activities. I wished I could do that, too. My body was tired. My soul was tired. I couldn’t go on like this. It was my own fault that I didn’t make time for myself. I had spoiled my family over the years by doing everything by myself. No time for a walk with the dog, no time to just sit on my own and stare at nothing. Why should I be like this? I needed serious time for myself, time to recharge my batteries and do things that would make me a better person. A family meeting was the first step. During the meeting, I explained why I was bad-tempered and asked them what they thought would solve the problem. Everyone got a turn to come up with ideas for how they could help me achieve my goal to have at least one hour per day to do what I liked. The family was open to practical solutions. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A month has passed since the new rules in the house began, and the plan is working perfectly. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 单句训练 1. 词汇激活 行为类 ①建议:suggest/advise ②获得:get/obtain ③提供:give/offer 情绪类 ①积极:positive/active 高分句型 1:It has given us more time to spend together, chatting and laughing. It follows that asking for help is the bravest move we can make. The family was open to practical solutions. “What about having everyone be responsible for cleaning their own room?” I suggested. “And what about taking turns to cook, do laundry and clean up after dinner?” Their reaction was quite positive.
