Step I Lead-in
Ask students the question and try to answer it using NP,AdjP and AdvP.

Step II Observe and analyse
Activity 1 Look at the following sentences and tell what categories the underlined phrases belong to.

3. As to extra-curricular activities, he didn't play football well enough,but he won't quit and he will find a way to improve so that he can make the team.

Finally,some of the stronger girls had to lift their partners. The other girls jumped very high and cheered so loudly. I think I did quite welin the try out,but many of the other girls were even better. I'm not so sure whether I'll make the cheerleading team this year or not.
