Wang Ning, a middle school student in Nanjing, doesn’t have time for breakfast. He always does his homework until very late at night and can’t get up for breakfast the next morning. There are many other students like Wang. They don’t have healthy eating habits. Scientists from Southeast University studied 1,790 students in Nanjing last year. They found that 30% of the students don’t have breakfast and 40% of them only eat the foods they like most. These bad eating habits are bad for students’ bodies. This could cause high blood pressure and other health problems.
Nutritional balance (营养均衡) is important—especially for students. So many schools in China provide (提供) food between meals, such as milk and fruit. Over 50% of Chinese middle and primary schools provide healthy meals.

Wang Ning, a middle school student in Nanjing, doesn’t have time for breakfast. He always does his homework until very late at night and can’t get up for breakfast the next morning. There are many other students like Wang. They don’t have healthy eating habits. Scientists from Southeast University studied 1,790 students in Nanjing last year. They found that 30% of the students don’t have breakfast and 40% of them only eat the foods they like most. These bad eating habits are bad for students’ bodies.
