(24-25高二上·湖北·期中)The Liangzhu Museum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, houses a treasure trove of jade, lacquerware and numerous artifacts, but what has impressed Emma Chen, a volunteer coming from the United States, the most is its black pottery collection, which shows unique symbols that some scholars think are inscriptions (碑文) from another era.
Her passion for Chinese history happened before she was majoring in Oriental studies. She learned Chinese during her college days in the US, and the interest ultimately drove her across the Pacific Ocean. Coming to China in early 2015 after graduating, she became a member of the museum’s volunteer team in 2022. Chen said her frequent visits to the museum led to them making an offer. However, being a bilingual (用两种语言的) volunteer guide is not without its share of challenges. Chen has read numerous books on Chinese history and visited many museums in China to overcome problems.
For Chen, Liangzhu Museum has become “a big family” that gives her a sense of belonging. “What fascinates me even more is that the museum itself is inclusive,” she said. “It opens its arms, welcoming everyone who comes here, regardless of their background. I hope everyone can walk into museums and get a glimpse of the rich and profound history behind the cultural relics.”
Chen has visited many museums in China, such as the Yinxu Museum in Henan province and the Sanxingdui Museum in Sichuan province. But in her eyes, Liangzhu Museum is a valuable treasure that cannot be replaced because she believes every word that is written on a wall in the hall of the museum, that “Liangzhu is the most concrete proof of 5,000 years of Chinese civilization”. In 2019, the Liangzhu ruins made it to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
4.What possibly contributes to Emma Chen’s work as a volunteer?
A.Diligence and enthusiasm. B.Passion and bravery.
C.Interest and generosity. D.Ambition and intelligence.
5.What does the underlined sentence actually mean in Paragraph 3?
A.The museum includes varieties of collections.
B.The museum welcomes people from all walks of life.
C.People can get a glimpse of the rich and profound history of the museum.
D.The museum opens its arms to people free of charge.
6.Why does Emma Chen regard Liangzhu Museum a precious treasure?
A.The museum houses a treasure trove of jade, lacquerware and artifacts.
B.The black pottery collection leaves a deep impression on her.
C.The Liangzhu Museum can best show Chinese civilization.
D.The Liangzhu ruins made it to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
7.What’s the author’s purpose of writing the passage?
A.To promote the Liangzhu Museum in Hangzhou.
B.To compare different kinds of museums in China.
C.To introduce an American volunteer for a Chinese museum.
D.To praise an American volunteer’s determination.
【答案】4.A 5.B 6.C 7.C
根据第二段中“Her passion for Chinese history happened before she was majoring in Oriental studies. She learned Chinese during her college days in the US, and the interest ultimately drove her across the Pacific Ocean. (她对中国历史的热情在她主修东方研究之前就开始了。她在美国读大学时学过中文,这种兴趣最终驱使她跨越了太平洋)”可知,Emma热爱中国历史,这份热爱让她跨越太平洋来到中国。再根据第二段中“However, being a bilingual (用两种语言的) volunteer guide is not without its share of challenges. Chen has read numerous books on Chinese history and visited many museums in China to overcome problems. (然而,作为一名双语志愿者导游并非没有挑战。为了克服问题,陈阅读了大量有关中国历史的书籍,并参观了中国的许多博物馆)”可知,Emma克服了成为双语志愿者导游的挑战,通过阅读和实地参观提高自己的能力。由此可知,勤奋和热爱使Emma成为一名志愿者。故选A项。
根据画线词的下文“It opens its arms, welcoming everyone who comes here, regardless of their background. (它张开双臂,欢迎每一个来到这里的人,不管他们的背景如何)”可知,良渚博物馆欢迎所有前来参观的人。由此可知,画线部分表示“博物馆具有包容性”,即“欢迎各行各业的人”。故选B项。
6.细节理解题。根据最后一段中“But in her eyes, Liangzhu Museum is a valuable treasure that cannot be replaced because she believes every word that is written on a wall in the hall of the museum, that “Liangzhu is the most concrete proof of 5,000 years of Chinese civilization”.

(24-25高二上·湖北孝感·期中)Give fishermen a string, and they can use it to catch fish, but give it to young men from Huotong Town and they can make a lion fly. Indeed, many children growing up in the town in Ningde City, Fujian Province, might be under the impression that lions can actually fly, as they come into contact with the popular string lion dance at an early age.
From a distance, bamboo lions with colorful long hair could be seen high above a small wooden stage in Xingxian Village in mid-March, each seeming to have a life of their own. Closer up, it was possible to see that they were linked by what looked like countless long strings that were being operated by a team of young people behind the stage.
The young people made every effort during the show, sometimes using their weight to pull the strings, and other times jumping up and down to control the strings to make the lions do various fancy actions, ranging from rolling, jumping, to running one after another, and fighting for a ball.
Applause broke out from the crowd as the lions came to rest, and a group of young boys stepped out from behind the curtain. “This is my happiest moment, getting recognition from the audience,” says Chen Jihong, 24, who leads the team of around 30 members aged between 13 and 24.
Like other children in the region, Chen was first fascinated by the dance as a child when his mother took him to watch a lantern show on the day of longtaitou, or Dragon Head Raising Day. He remembers how the crowd suddenly became excited and cheered for the string lions to come out. Curiously, he pushed through the crowd to get a closer view as the lifelike lions came into sight.
Huang Zhenqiao, a senior inheritor of the tradition that was named a national intangible (非物质的) cultural heritage in 2006, says that the string lion dance dates back about 1,300 years and is one of the most attractive shows at the local lantern show on that day.
8.Why does the writer mention “fishermen” at the beginning?
A.To introduce the topic. B.To add something fun.
C.To compare two skills. D.To explain the background.
9.What can we learn from Paragraph 3?
A.What the lions looked like. B.How the lion dance was performed.
C.What influence the dance had. D.How strong the young people were.
10.Which of the following has most probably inspired Chen Jihong to be a lion dancer?
A.His childhood memories. B.The team influence.
C.His family background. D.The school education.
11.What does the underlined word “inheritor” probably mean in the last paragraph?
A.A person who has a gift for mathematics.
B.A person who is to pass down a tradition.
C.A person who prefers to get rid of old things.
D.A person who studies the history of a country.

根据第一段“Give fishermen a string, and they can use it to catch fish, but give it to young men from Huotong Town and they can make a lion fly. Indeed, many children growing up in the town in Ningde City, Fujian Province, might be under the impression that lions can actually fly, as they come into contact with the popular string lion dance at an early age.(给渔民一根绳子,他们可以用它来捕鱼,但如果把绳子给胡通镇的年轻人,他们就能让狮子飞起来。的确,在福建省宁德市这个镇上长大的许多孩子可能都会觉得狮子真的能飞,因为他们很小就接触到了流行的提线狮子舞)”可知,作者通过对比渔民和胡通镇年轻人对绳子的不同使用,引出了提线狮子舞这一话题。由此推知,作者提到“渔民”是为了引入主题。故选A项。
根据第三段“The young people made every effort during the show, sometimes using their weight to pull the strings, and other times jumping up and down to control the strings to make the lions do various fancy actions, ranging from rolling, jumping, to running one after another, and fighting for a ball.(年轻人在表演中竭尽全力,有时用体重拉绳子,有时跳上跳下控制绳子,让狮子做出各种花哨的动作,包括翻滚、跳跃、一个接一个地奔跑和抢球)”可知,本段主要描述了提线狮子舞的表演过程,即年轻人如何通过操控绳子让狮子做出各种动作。故选B项。
根据第五段“Like other children in the region, Chen was first fascinated by the dance as a child when his mother took him to watch a lantern show on the day of longtaitou, or Dragon Head Raising Day. He remembers how the crowd suddenly became excited and cheered for the string lions to come out. Curiously, he pushed through the crowd to get a closer view as the lifelike lions came into sight.(和该地区的其他孩子一样,陈小时候就被这种舞蹈迷住了,当时他妈妈带他去看龙头抬头节那天的灯笼表演。他记得人群突然变得兴奋起来,为提线狮子的出场而欢呼。出于好奇,他挤过人群,当栩栩如生的狮子映入眼帘时,他仔细地观看)”可知,陈继红小时候被提线狮子舞所吸引,并留下了深刻的印象。由此推知,正是他童年的这些记忆激发了他成为提线狮子舞者的愿望。故选A项。
根据划线词所在句“Huang Zhenqiao, a senior inheritor of the tradition (黄振桥,这一传统的资深inheritor)”和下文他对舞狮的介绍“says that the string lion dance dates back about 1,300 years and is one of the most attractive shows at the local lantern show on that day(据说舞狮可以追溯到1300年前,是当天当地灯展上最吸引人的节目之一)”可推知,黄振桥是舞狮的传承人。故划线词inheritor与“person who is to pass down a tradition.(传承传统的人)”同义。故选B项。

The Mogao Caves of Dunhuang, a treasure house of art of China, has been spanning over 1,000 years. The art inside here covers more than ten major genres, such as architecture, stucco sculpture, wall paintings, silk paintings, calligraphy woodblock printing, embroidery, literature, music and dance, and popular entertainment. But all these only existed because of one man’s vision.
In 366 A.D., a monk named Le Zun looked across the river at dawn and saw a thousand Buddhas appear on the golden cliff face of Mingsha mountain along the old Silk Road. The caves were then built by monks and mostly sponsored by people such as wealthy merchants, foreign dignitaries, as well as Chinese emperors.
But when trade in the Silk Road stopped, Dunhuang was soon forgotten and eventually, the Mogao caves were abandoned. The site however was still used as a place of worship by the local people of the 20th century when there was renewed awareness in its presence once mere.
Most of the discoveries came from a Chinese Taoist monk named Wang Yuanlu who appointed himself as the guardian. The caves at that time were badly ignored, but Monk Wang recognized their value and instituted a program of restoration, funded by whatever donations he could gather.
He then made one of the great discoveries in Chinese archaeology (考古学): an amazing cache, of over 50,000 documents and paintings, which had been hidden in Mogao Cave #17. The cave #17 came to be known as the Library Cave, which was walled up sometime early in the11th century. A number of theories have been proposed as the reason for sealing the cave. One theory was that the cave had become a waste storeroom for precious, damaged and used documents and holy equipment and then sealed perhaps when the place came under threat. Another suggestion is that the cave was simply used as a book storehouse for documents which accumulated over a century and a half, then sealed up when it became full. Others suggested that the monks hurriedly hid the documents in advance of an attack by invaders.
12.What is the second paragraph mainly about?
A.The legend of Mogao Caves. B.The end of the old Silk Road.
C.The discovery of Mogao Caves. D.The development of the Silk Road.
13.What did Wang Yuanlu do to restore the caves?
A.He evaluated their value. B.He raised donations in different ways.
C.He sent guards to protect them. D.He persuaded government to do repairs.
14.What does the text come from?
A.Traditional culture. B.history book. C.biography. D.science fiction.
15.Why is Mogao Cave #17 considered a great discovery?
A.It used to be a library for monks. B.It stored valuable historical materials.
C.It had a history of over 1000 years. D.It was deserted for mysterious reasons.
【答案】12.A 13.B 14.A 15.B

Living heritages are cultural elements that are considered to be an important part of the cultural heritage of our nation and that are still present and transmitted today. 16 It is an artistic practice of writing Chinese characters, often with a brush and ink on Xuan paper.
The evolution of Chinese calligraphy began alongside the earliest Chinese characters discovered to date — inscriptions on oracle bones (甲骨文), from the Shang Dynasty (c. 16th century — 11th century BC) in Anyang, Henan province.
Over time, calligraphy gradually took shape as a form of art rather than a mere means of record. Five major styles of script were born. They were running, cursive, official, seal and regular.
17 The type of brush, density of ink and texture of paper can all change the output. From brush inclination and direction to speed of writing, every twist and turn of the wrist is also calculated. Structure of individual characters and special layout as a whole determine its quality. Moreover, the emotions of the writer are directly reflected on calligraphy.
Calligraphy is a fine art. Lan Ting Xu is one of the most celebrated masterpieces. 18 Its elegance and expressive brushwork gave it both historical and cultural significance in Chinese literature.
Calligraphy is also within reach. Like the Spring Festival couplets that decorate doors of everyday folks, calligraphy has always been the sign of appreciation for the Chinese. Where there is Chinese language, there is calligraphy. 19
Chinese calligraphy is still highly valued today for its more than just writing. 20 It was written on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in2009. We strongly believe Chinese calligraphy will be passed from generation to generation.
A.It is a living heritage.
B.Calligraphy is a demanding art.
C.Calligraphy can be learned easily.
D.Chinese calligraphy is one of them.
E.It is one of the most famous and favorite art works.
F.And where there is Chinese calligraphy, there is beauty.
G.It was created by Wang Xizhi during the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

I’ve had the pleasure and good fortune to live and work in several countries as an ESL(English as a Second Language)teacher. During one assignment(任务), I lived in Prague in the Czech Republic. I often took weekend trips to nearby cities to explore the countryside.
One weekend, I took a three-hour bus ride to visit a city with a fine castle and wonderful museums. Before I got off the bus, I checked the schedule in order to come back to the station timely; I was only planning a day trip and did not intend to stay overnight.
After a wonderful day seeing the sights, I had a brief dinner and had plenty of time to walk the half mile to catch the 6:15 bus. When I got there, no one was in line for the bus to Prague. Finally, I discovered the last bus for the day had left at 5:15.
This was a serious problem. About a month earlier, my pocket was picked and I lost about $1,000. To avoid having the same thing happen again, I only carried enough cash to cover my expenses for the day. I certainly did not have enough money to stay in a hotel. But with no transportation to Prague and being a positive person, I decided to try asking.
I first found the Youth Hotel, but it was completely full. Setting aside 5 crowns for the bus fare, I had 9 crowns to spend. Every hotel I tried to check into charged 22 to 25 crowns, until I had only one more recommendation. If it was too expensive, I’d have to spend the night on a park bench, an uncomfortable idea for someone almost 60 years old.
The hotel looked much nicer than I expected. It would surely cost more than 9 crowns. The desk clerk spoke some English, so I told her my story.
Paragraph 1:
The clerk listened carefully, and then asked me to wait.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
I was deeply moved by the manager’s kindness and generosity.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________【答案】Paragraph 1:
The clerk listened carefully, and then asked me to wait. A woman came out and introduced herself in very good English. She was the hotel manager and asked what she could do to help me. Again I told my story, and made an offer. I promised if I could stay overnight, I would give her my 9 crowns and mail the rest to her the next day. She said I was welcome to stay, and that she would accept what I had in my pocket as the total payment for a room. Then she added, “If you need some money for dinner, I will be happy to give you some of my own so that you can have a proper meal.”
Paragraph 2:
I was deeply moved by the manager’s kindness and generosity. I could barely manage to express my deepest gratitude. As a result, I spent the night in a clean and tastefully decorated room, not on a cold, hard park bench. As soon as I got back to Prague, I wrote the manager a note of thanks for her thoughtfulness. She reminded me that kindness and unselfishness are international characteristics. It has been the most wonderful trip so far!

Paragraph 2:
I was deeply moved by the manager’s kindness and generosity.
