1.自主预习教材Page 6~7的新单词和短语,掌握词形及汉语意思。做到重点词汇能正确发音,明确其用法,着重记忆。
2.预读2b的短文,了解文章主题,搜集相关资料。
二、预习检测
根据首字母及汉语提示补全单词
1.The car went out of control (控制) and it couldn’t stop.
2.It was a hard decision (决定),but I felt I made the right one.
3.Mrs.Black tells her son that the red light means (意思是) “stop”.
4.We must learn more about the situation (情况) before we act.
课堂教学
Step 1 Leading in
Teacher:Accidents or problems can sometimes happen when we do sports.Aron Ralston is an American climber.There were many times when Aron almost lost his life because of accidents.On April 26th,2003,he found himself in a very dangerous situation when climbing in Utah.So what happened to him?Look at the title of the article and guess what happened.
Step 2 Work on 2a
1.Ask the students what accidents happened when they did sports,such as playing soccer,climbing mountains,or swimming.
2.Let the students write the letter of each sport next to each accident or problem that can happen in 2a.
3.Check the answers.
Step 3 Work on 2b
1.Make the students scan the article first.Ask them to underline the words they don’t know.Then discuss with classmates.
2.Ask the students to read the article carefully again to understand its meaning and the order in which it is written.
3.Project these new words on the screen or write them on the board and teach the new words.Ask the students to repeat them.And make sure everyone knows the meanings.
4.Ask the students to practice reading the article.
5.Play the recording and get the students to read after the recording.
6.Lead the students to learn the article sentence by sentence.
Step 4 Work on 2c
1.Read the article in 2b for a second time and circle True,False or Don’t Know for each statement.
2.Check the answers.
Step 5 Work on 2d
1.According to the article in 2b,ask the students to answer the questions.
2.Then check the answers with the class.
Step 6 Work on 2e
1.Let the students put the sentences in the correct order in 2e based on the information in 2b.
2.Check the answers.
3.Encourage the students to retell Aron’s story to their partners based on the information in 2e.Try to add other details from the reading.

在本节课的教学设计中,老师设计了贴近学生生活的语言情境。通过图片、实物等营造出英语学习的情境和氛围,让学生在接近真实的情境中开展角色扮演活动,提高了他们的参与度,让学生整节课都充满了较高的学习热情。
