66.Dear Tom,
Eager to shoot a video to promote my hometown’s special products to my foreign friends, I’m
writing to consult you to perfect it.
Firstly, what upsets me is whether my narration is accurate, vivid and authentic. So it will be
very kind of you to correct the mistakes and polish my narration. What’s more, I have no
confidence in the English recording, which I think may result in misunderstanding for my
inaccurate pronunciation and intonation. So can you record it for me? Only in this way will my
foreign friends understand it better.
I would appreciate it if you can give me a hand. Keenly anticipate your early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
67.One possible version:
After that day, I made up my mind to face the challenges. Regarding my studies, I developed a
comprehensive plan. For math, I dedicated extra hours every day to practicing problems and
seeking help from teachers and classmates. I also applied the same determination to other subjects.
In English, I started reading English novels and watching English movies to improve my language
sense. In physics, I did more experiments to better understand the theories. I told myself that every
subject was a mountain to climb, and I was ready to scale them all.
高二英语答案 第 2 页 (共 2 页)
As the weeks passed, I noticed that I was making progress. Math was no longer the
insurmountable hurdle it once was. I could follow the teacher’s pace in class and solve complex
problems independently. In English, I could communicate more fluently and write better essays. My
physics grades also soared as I grasped the concepts more thoroughly. These achievements not only
brought me joy but also strengthened my belief that hard work pays off. I was deeply thankful to Mr.
Smith. His words of encouragement had lit a fire within me, inspiring me to keep striving forward
in this new stage of my life.

The western-part of the United States is filled with amazing National Parks, and there is no better way to enjoy these destinations than to take a road trip.

Life plays out much as it always has on the great plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, but the latest generation of Maasai are gradually changing the face of modern safari (观兽旅行) — with greater permission for female guides and local communities as a whole.
Trainee Brenda Senewakorian, with her long hair sweeping into a bun, is among the new female guides recruited by a camp in an effort to increase their numbers. Traditionally in rural communities, women would be expected to cook and fetch water, among other domestic chores. Now, female guides behind safari vehicle steering wheels (方向盘) are an increasingly common sight in the Mara — largely due to communities becoming more accepting, greater education from measures such as the WTC and greater flexibility from employers around family commitments.
“Animals are just like us,” Brenda remarks, “They just want to take care of their young ones.” She’s a single mother who relies on the support of her family to help raise her child. but she says she’s determined to earn her own income.
Across the Mara, more camps are employing women. They’re in the process of training their first female guide. Sophie, a veteran in the Mara at the wheel, recalls that previously girls couldn’t go to school as parents thought it a waste. But now, the elders recognize what they do, and that everyone needs to contribute to the family income. The perception has changed: “if men can drive, we can drive; if men can guide, we can guide, too.”
It’s not long before Sophie find a mother buffalo and her calf hiding in the long grass. As tourists watch them, Sophie tells them of the legendary black rhino called Mary, who raised a new population of the creatures in the area and inspired the Kenyan government to establish a protection project.
While the essence of safari may remain the same-of watching wildlife out on the plains — change is coming to Kenya, as the next generation of Mausai guides pave their own path.
24.What is the main reason for the increasing number of female guides in Maasai Mara?
A.The decreasing number of male guides. B.The government’s regulations.
C.The changes in local communities. D.The support from international tourists.
25.What can we infer from Brenda’s words?
A.She understands animals well. B.She intends to protect animal habitats.
C.She considers animals more affectionate. D.She wants to raise her child independently.
26.What is the purpose of paragraph 4?
A.To describe female guides’ work challenge. B.To explain the role of female guides in tourism.
C.To show people’s acceptance of gender equality. D.To introduce female guides’ training process.
27.What is the best title of the passage?
A.Female Guides: New Force in Maasai Mara Safari.
B.Maasai Mara: A Paradise for Female Guides.
C.Female Guides: Transforming Traditions in Maasai Mara.
D.Maasai Mara: Witnessing the Changes of Female Guides.

Before the crowd of students rounded the track, Coach Matthew Moore at Sandburg Middle School explained the goal of Monday’s practice to get students adapted to running two miles continuously, something that was new to many of the middle-schoolers on the cross-country (越野的) team, and thus improve their fitness. However, some students’ reason for circling the track was hanging out with friends as much as running.
The teachers and administrators at Sandburg Middle School already knew that. In fact, creating opportunities to make friends and build community was part of the reason Fairfax County Public Schools decided to introduce sports to its middle schools for the first time this year. This came as schools around the county were confronted with a mental health crisis.
In Fairfax County, about17 percent of sixth-graders reported feeling stressed most of the time, and about 62 percent reported experiencing stress some of the time. Nearly 30 percent of sixth-graders reported feeling so sad or hopeless almost every day for two or more weeks in a row that they stopped doing usual activities.
Michelle Reid, the head of Fairfax County Public Schools, hopes athletics will improve mental and physical wellness in the district’s middle schools. “We’re in a mental health crisis in many ways, and also a fitness crisis in this county. It’s really important for students to be active and engaged in sports, and we’re just excited at that possibility,” said Reid.
Claire Brown, 13, joined the team at Sandburg to stay active. Running was not her “strong suit”, but she said she could already feel herself building endurance (耐力) and getting better. The encouragement from friends on the team has helped. “It’s just like everybody encouraging everybody,” Brown said. “‘You can do this. Push a little harder. You got there.’ That cheers me up.”
28.Why was Monday’s practice held in the school?
A.To build students up. B.To train students for a race.
C.To teach running skills. D.To help students get used to the track.
29.What does the underlined part “were confronted with” mean in paragraph 2?
A.Improve. B.Encounter. C.Survive D.Prevent.
30.What can be learned from Brown’s experience?
A.Promoting confidence is urgent. B.Students need more encouragement.
C.Teamwork changes her greatly. D.The practice has far-reaching influence.
31.What might be the best title for the text?
A.Sandburg Middle School Running: A New Way to Improve Students’ Wellness.
B.Sandburg Middle School Running: An Effective Method to Reduce Pressure.
C.Sandburg Middle School Running: An Unsuccessful Attempt at Fitness Training.
D.Sandburg Middle School Running: A Great Opportunity to Promote Friendship.

This year’s Chelsea Flower Show, held from May 21 to 25, featured (以……为特色) a garden that was designed by children, for children. The famous show was run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), a gardening charity in Chelsea, London. It is a chance for garden designers to show their skills and win prizes for their creations.
Children played an important role in this year’s show. The “no adults allowed” garden was designed by primary school children. And it featured a woodland that invited exploration, a grassland with grass and wildflowers and a wetland area with bog plants. It also featured a play area that included a natural cave leading into a pool of water, providing a slide for children to enjoy. The show was a sensation, drawing in many families and community members, who were excited to see the creative designs. The young designers confidently presented their ideas to the visitors, sharing what they learned throughout the creative process.
For the first time this year, children also took on the role of judges (裁判), giving prizes for the garden they would most like to play in. Judges from primary school evaluated each garden based on whether a garden was a good place to play, whether it was attractive to wildlife, and how the garden made them feel. At last, the most popular garden prize went to the Octavia Hill garden.
A junior judge shared, “I like the Octavia Hill garden best, because its woodland holds more plants than others and the planting has attracted a lot of wildlife. It is more fun to explore and play in.”
Helena Pettit, the director of the RHS, stressed the importance of this show, stating, “The show was uniquely designed to prove how important it is for children to have access (通道) to nature. We’re delighted that we have children designers taking centre stage, who want to encourage other children around the world to become gardeners, to help save the planet and have fun.”
32.What was special about the show this year?
A.It was child-centered. B.It focused on various plants.
C.It featured design skills. D.It was organized by primary schools.
33.What is Paragraph 2 mainly about?
A.The creativity of the children.
B.The brief introduction to the show.
C.The excitement of community members.
D.The reasons for children’s participation in the show.
34.How did the little judges choose the best garden?
A.By its modern design. B.By the unique skills of designers.
C.By the beauty of the garden. D.By its attraction to children and wildlife.
35.What should children do according to Helena Pettit?
A.Take responsibility for their own lives. B.Take part in more relaxing events.

How Body Language Can Help Your Career
Many businessmen often underestimate the importance of nonverbal communication — which is often half the message. 36 Imagine how much more effective your next meeting with your boss could be if only you give your nonverbal communication a little attention. These four tips can help you avoid that common mistake so you can use your body language to gain an advantage in your career.
Triple Nod to Show You’re Engaged
37 One way you can do this non-verbally is to use the triple head nod. Three quick, small nods in a row is the nonverbal sign for “tell me more” or “I hear you, explain.” It is a great way to show that you are interested and involved.
Don’t Underestimate the Power of the Hands
Our hands speak volumes about who we are. Our brain pays attention to hands more than any other body part because we have evolved to look at them as a safety tool to make sure people won’t attack us. Whenever you have meetings, keep your hands above the table. 38
Stop Using Nervous Behaviors
Learn to stop displaying nervous body language so you don’t risk appearing anxious or incompetent. The most common behaviors are: wringing hands, rubbing arms, biting lips. 39
Ask a friend to tell you if they notice you’re displaying any of the above behaviors. Once you know what they are, you can take actions to stop them.
Mirror Other People
Professionals who mirror clients’ body language are more successful than those who don’t. If you’re a fast-talker, slowing down your speech to match the person you’re talking to helps put you on the same level. 40 Copying someone’s closed off body language or negative tone will only increase the tension between you.
A.Of course, only follow positive behaviors.
B.Hold your body in a similar way as they do.
C.Show you are interested in the people you speak with.
D.Focus on keeping your body there unless you need to use it.
E.You’ll be able to use the crucial tool for delivering messages.
F.Sometimes it can be hard to identify what your signs of anxiety are.
G.Most people plan what they will say, but they ignore their body language.

I still remember the first day when I entered high school. Everywhere on the campus I could smell excitement in the fresh air, yet a thread of nervousness wound through my stomach. As I walked through the campus road, I gazed up at the towering buildings and the busy students, knowing that a new chapter of my school life was about to unfold.
In my first math class, I quickly realized it was going to be far harder than what I was used to. The teacher talked so fast, and the mountain of homework was too much, making it hard for me to breathe. I tried to pay attention, but my mind was racing. I started to doubt myself, wondering if I could really handle high school life. I felt I could hardly follow anything. I felt lost.
After the class, I sat at my desk, feeling like I was in over my head. That’s when Mr. Smith, my math teacher, came over. He saw I was upset and asked if I was okay. I told him I was finding everything really hard and wasn’t sure I could handle it.
Mr. Smith’s eyes softened as he smiled, and he said in a comforting tone, “I understand how you feel. High school is a significant leap from junior high, but it’s also an opportunity for you to grow. Everyone struggles at first. The important thing is not to give up.” He spent some time going over the math stuff I didn’t understand.
His words made me feel a little better, and I listened closely as he explained everything again. By the end of our talk, I felt a bit more hopeful about the rest of the day and the year ahead.

enjoy these destinations than to take a road trip.
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
One of the most amazing natural wonders you may ever see, the Grand Canyon is a true must-see canyon

this side are worth the time to explore. The North Rim is much more rural, and offers some great backcountry
options.

Life plays out much as it always has on the great plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, but the latest generation
of Maasai are gradually changing the face of modern safari (观兽旅行 ) — with greater permission for female
guides and local communities as a whole.
Trainee Brenda Senewakorian, with her long hair sweeping into a bun, is among the new female guides
recruited by a camp in an effort to increase their numbers. Traditionally in rural communities, women would be
expected to cook and fetch water, among other domestic chores. Now, female guides behind safari vehicle steering
wheels (方向盘) are an increasingly common sight in the Mara — largely due to communities becoming more
accepting, greater education from measures such as the WTC and greater flexibility from employers around
family commitments.
“Animals are just like us,” Brenda remarks, “They just want to take care of their young ones.” She’s a
高二英语试题 第 5 页(共 12 页)
single mother who relies on the support of her family to help raise her child. but she says she’s determined to earn
her own income.
Across the Mara, more camps are employing women. They’re in the process of training their first female
guide. Sophie, a veteran in the Mara at the wheel, recalls that previously girls couldn’t go to school as parents
thought it a waste. But now, the elders recognize what they do, and that everyone needs to contribute to the family
income. The perception has changed: “if men can drive, we can drive; if men can guide, we can guide, too.”
It’s not long before Sophie find a mother buffalo and her calf hiding in the long grass. As tourists watch
them, Sophie tells them of the legendary black rhino called Mary, who raised a new population of the creatures in
the area and inspired the Kenyan government to establish a protection project.
While the essence of safari may remain the same-of watching wildlife out on the plains — change is
coming to Kenya, as the next generation of Mausai guides pave their own path.
C.She considers animals more affectionate.D.She wants to raise her child independently.

Before the crowd of students rounded the track, Coach Matthew Moore at Sandburg Middle School
explained the goal of Monday’s practice to get students adapted to running two miles continuously, something that
was new to many of the middle-schoolers on the cross-country (越野的 ) team, and thus improve their fitness.
However, some students’ reason for circling the track was hanging out with friends as much as running.
高二英语试题 第 6 页(共 12 页)
The teachers and administrators at Sandburg Middle School already knew that. In fact, creating
opportunities to make friends and build community was part of the reason Fairfax County Public Schools decided
to introduce sports to its middle schools for the first time this year. This came as schools around the county were
confronted with a mental health crisis.
In Fairfax County, about17 percent of sixth-graders reported feeling stressed most of the time, and about 62
percent reported experiencing stress some of the time. Nearly 30 percent of sixth-graders reported feeling so sad
or hopeless almost every day for two or more weeks in a row that they stopped doing usual activities.
Michelle Reid, the head of Fairfax County Public Schools, hopes athletics will improve mental and
physical wellness in the district’s middle schools. “We’re in a mental health crisis in many ways, and also a fitness
crisis in this county. It’s really important for students to be active and engaged in sports, and we’re just excited at
that possibility,” said Reid.
Claire Brown, 13, joined the team at Sandburg to stay active. Running was not her “strong suit”, but she
said she could already feel herself building endurance (耐力) and getting better. The encouragement from friends
on the team has helped. “It’s just like everybody encouraging everybody,” Brown said. “‘You can do this. Push a
little harder.
A.Sandburg Middle School Running: A NewWay to Improve Students’Wellness.
B.Sandburg Middle School Running: An Effective Method to Reduce Pressure.
C.Sandburg Middle School Running: An Unsuccessful Attempt at Fitness Training.
D.Sandburg Middle School Running: A Great Opportunity to Promote Friendship.

This year’s Chelsea Flower Show, held from May 21 to 25, featured (以……为特色) a garden that was
高二英语试题 第 7 页(共 12 页)
designed by children, for children. The famous show was run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), a
gardening charity in Chelsea, London. It is a chance for garden designers to show their skills and win prizes for
their creations.
Children played an important role in this year’s show. The “no adults allowed” garden was designed by
primary school children. And it featured a woodland that invited exploration, a grassland with grass and
wildflowers and a wetland area with bog plants. It also featured a play area that included a natural cave leading
into a pool of water, providing a slide for children to enjoy. The show was a sensation, drawing in many families
and community members, who were excited to see the creative designs. The young designers confidently
presented their ideas to the visitors, sharing what they learned throughout the creative process.
For the first time this year, children also took on the role of judges (裁判), giving prizes for the garden they
would most like to play in. Judges from primary school evaluated each garden based on whether a garden was a
good place to play, whether it was attractive to wildlife, and how the garden made them feel. At last, the most
popular garden prize went to the Octavia Hill garden.
A junior judge shared, “I like the Octavia Hill garden best, because its woodland holds more plants than
others and the planting has attracted a lot of wildlife. It is more fun to explore and play in.”
Helena Pettit, the director of the RHS, stressed the importance of this show, stating, “The show was
uniquely designed to prove how important it is for children to have access (通道) to nature. We’re delighted that
we have children designers taking centre stage, who want to encourage other children around the world to become
gardeners, to help save the planet and have fun.”

How Body Language Can Help Your Career
Many businessmen often underestimate the importance of nonverbal communication — which is often half
the message. 36 Imagine how much more effective your next meeting with your boss could be if only you
give your nonverbal communication a little attention. These four tips can help you avoid that common mistake so
you can use your body language to gain an advantage in your career.
Triple Nod to Show You’re Engaged
37 One way you can do this non-verbally is to use the triple head nod. Three quick, small nods in a
row is the nonverbal sign for “tell me more” or “I hear you, explain.” It is a great way to show that you are
interested and involved.
Don’t Underestimate the Power of the Hands
Our hands speak volumes about who we are. Our brain pays attention to hands more than any other body
part because we have evolved to look at them as a safety tool to make sure people won’t attack us. Whenever you
have meetings, keep your hands above the table. 38
Stop Using Nervous Behaviors
Learn to stop displaying nervous body language so you don’t risk appearing anxious or incompetent. The
most common behaviors are: wringing hands, rubbing arms, biting lips. 39
Ask a friend to tell you if they notice you’re displaying any of the above behaviors. Once you know what
they are, you can take actions to stop them.
Mirror Other People
Professionals who mirror clients’ body language are more successful than those who don’t. If you’re a
fast-talker, slowing down your speech to match the person you’re talking to helps put you on the same level.
40 Copying someone’s closed off body language or negative tone will only increase the tension between you.
A.Of course, only follow positive behaviors.
B.Hold your body in a similar way as they do.
高二英语试题 第 9 页(共 12 页)
C.Show you are interested in the people you speak with.
D.Focus on keeping your body there unless you need to use it.
E.You’ll be able to use the crucial tool for delivering messages.
F.Sometimes it can be hard to identify what your signs of anxiety are.
G.Most people plan what they will say, but they ignore their body language.

I still remember the first day when I entered high school. Everywhere on the campus I could smell
excitement in the fresh air, yet a thread of nervousness wound through my stomach. As I walked through the
campus road, I gazed up at the towering buildings and the busy students, knowing that a new chapter of my school
life was about to unfold.
In my first math class, I quickly realized it was going to be far harder than what I was used to. The teacher
talked so fast, and the mountain of homework was too much, making it hard for me to breathe. I tried to pay
attention, but my mind was racing. I started to doubt myself, wondering if I could really handle high school life. I
felt I could hardly follow anything. I felt lost.
After the class, I sat at my desk, feeling like I was in over my head. That’s when Mr. Smith, my math

teacher, came over. He saw I was upset and asked if I was okay. I told him I was finding everything really hard
and wasn’t sure I could handle it.
Mr. Smith’s eyes softened as he smiled, and he said in a comforting tone, “I understand how you feel. High
school is a significant leap from junior high, but it’s also an opportunity for you to grow. Everyone struggles at
first. The important thing is not to give up.” He spent some time going over the math stuff I didn’t understand.
His words made me feel a little better, and I listened closely as he explained everything again. By the end of
our talk, I felt a bit more hopeful about the rest of the day and the year ahead.

66.Dear Tom,
Eager to shoot a video to promote my hometown’s special products to my foreign friends, I’m writing to consult you to perfect it.
Firstly, what upsets me is whether my narration is accurate, vivid and authentic. So it will be very kind of you to correct the mistakes and polish my narration. What’s more, I have no confidence in the English recording, which I think may result in misunderstanding for my inaccurate pronunciation and intonation. So can you record it for me? Only in this way will my foreign friends understand it better.
I would appreciate it if you can give me a hand. Keenly anticipate your early reply.

67.One possible version:
After that day, I made up my mind to face the challenges. Regarding my studies, I developed a comprehensive plan. For math, I dedicated extra hours every day to practicing problems and seeking help from teachers and classmates. I also applied the same determination to other subjects. In English, I started reading English novels and watching English movies to improve my language sense. In physics, I did more experiments to better understand the theories. I told myself that every subject was a mountain to climb, and I was ready to scale them all.
As the weeks passed, I noticed that I was making progress. Math was no longer the insurmountable hurdle it once was. I could follow the teacher’s pace in class and solve complex problems independently. In English, I could communicate more fluently and write better essays. My physics grades also soared as I grasped the concepts more thoroughly. These achievements not only brought me joy but also strengthened my belief that hard work pays off. I was deeply thankful to Mr. Smith. His words of encouragement had lit a fire within me, inspiring me to keep striving forward in this new stage of my life.
