The software maker released the findings from its 2021 Global Emoji Trend Report ahead of World Emoji Day. Adobe’s latest report also examined the three most misunderstood emojis in the world. The “eggplant” symbol won the “peach” and the “clown” emojis respectively by a neck as the most confusing for users. 90% of emoji users believe the modern-day hieroglyphs make it easier for them to express themselves. 89% of respondents said emojis simplify communicating across language barriers. And 67% said they think people who use emojis are friendlier, funnier and cooler than those who don’t. 50% of respondents said they are more comfortable expressing emotions through emojis than talking on the phone or in person. 55% of global emoji users said using emojis in communications has positively impacted their mental health. 76% of those surveyed said emojis are an important communication tool for creating unity, respect and understanding. Among many of Earth’s colourful landscapes, there are mountains whose hues (色调) go beyond one kind. Rainbow Mountain, Peru This colourful mountain attracts 1,500 visitors daily during Peru’s high tourism season. The mountain’s rainbow look is revealed as the surrounding snow begins to melt. Visits to it often involve full-day excursions through tour operators, where it’s best to be physically able to handle high altitudes. Landmannalaugar Mountain, Iceland This mountain’s hues come from rhyolite, from red, pink, and green to blue and golden yellow. What’s more, after a long journey, weary bodies can relax within the warm streams heated by geothermal energy, which could be why it is also known as “Pools of the People.” The Pitons, St Lucia This pair of mountainous volcanic cones (圆锥体) are home to various rare plant species. Each of these two spires has its own name. Gros Piton is the taller of the two while Petit Piton is shorter but also said to be steeper, so if you want to challenge them, a guide is a must. Zhangye National Geopark, China In northwestern China’s province of Gansu, this UNESCO national park looks like a rainbow. It’s said that it consists of deposits of sandstones and siltstones that developed before the Himalayan Mountains were formed. This bright landscape will be captured through your eyes and lens. 21. What can visitors see in Landmannalaugar Mountain? A. The melt snow. B. Hot spring. C. Rare plants. D. Sandstones and siltstones. 22. Which mountains belong to guide-tour ones? A. Rainbow Mountain and The Pitons. B. Landmannalaugar Mountain and Zhangye National Geopark. C. Landmannalaugar Mountain and The Pitons. D. Zhangye National Geopark and The Pitons. 23. Which statement is true according to the text? A. Rainbow Mountain sits in low altitudes. B. More than 1,500 visitors travel to Landmannalaugar Mountain daily. C. Petit Piton is taller and steeper than Gros Piton. D. Zhangye National Geopark is located in Gansu province. B 22. A 23. 由文章Landmannalaugar Mountain, Iceland部分中“What’s more, after a long journey, weary bodies can relax within the warm streams heated by geothermal energy, which could be why it is also known as “Pools of the People.” (此外,经过长途旅行,疲惫的身体可以在地热能加热的温暖溪流中放松,这可能就是为什么它也被称为“人民池”的原因)”可知,游客在Landmannalaugar Mountain可以看到温泉。故选B。 【22题详解】 细节理解题。由文章Rainbow Mountain, Peru部分中“Visits to it often involve full-day excursions through tour operators, where it’s best to be physically able to handle high altitudes. (参观它通常需要通过旅行社进行一整天的短途旅行,在那里最好能够应对高海拔地区)”、The Pitons, St Lucia部分中“Gros Piton is the taller of the two while Petit Piton is shorter but also said to be steeper, so if you want to challenge them, a guide is a must. (Gros-Piton是两者中较高的,而Petit-Piton则较矮,但据说更陡,所以如果你想挑战它们,必须有导游)”可知,Rainbow Mountain和The Pitons属于需要导游的山。故选A。 由文章最后一段中“In northwestern China’s province of Gansu, this UNESCO national park looks like a rainbow. (在中国西北部的甘肃省,这个联合国教科文组织国家公园看起来像一道彩虹)”可知,Zhangye National Geopark位于甘肃省这一说法是正确的。故选D。 B About eight years ago, Li Jinglong and Guan Dian visited the Palace Museum in Beijing. The cloisonne (景泰蓝瓷器) objects on display attracted them in particular. They spent hours looking at those beautiful objects. They just couldn’t take their eyes off them. Born and raised in Beijing, 35-year-old Li is no stranger to cloisonne, since there were a pair of cloisonne vases in his grandparents’ home. His wife, 34-year-old Guan, who learned to paint as a child and later became a designer after graduating from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, is also familiar with cloisonne, as it appears in her art books. As a result of their visit, the couple made the daring decision to open a workshop. “We learned cloisonne after seeing the pieces displayed in the Palace Museum. We wanted to turn our hobby into a career, so that people could enjoy and learn to make the craft themselves,” said Li, who worked in a finance company before quitting his job to launch Handcraft Addicted, a DIY workshop where participants can make cloisonne. Since 2018, they have opened three workshops in Beijing. They are happy to give people a glimpse of the traditional techniques of cloisonne as part of a DIY experience. Instead of focusing on making traditional cloisonne objects, such as plates and vases, the workshop allows participants to create the designs they want on surface of glass, resin (树脂) or wood. Although the process has been simplified, it is still not easy for people trying cloisonne for the first time to succeed. Participants spend months making one piece, which they take home or give friends as presents. It’s a luxury for people to spend time alone and fully focus on one thing nowadays because of the fast pace of life. Participants come to the workshop not only to create art, but also to take a break from their busy lives. 24. What can we learn about the couple? A. They both grew up in Beijing. B. They both majored in cloisonne art. C. They are both familiar with cloisonne. D. They both quit their previous jobs. 25. What inspired the couple to open Handcraft Addicted? A. Their grandparents’ cloisonne vases. B. Their hobby in handcraft techniques. C. Cloisonne objects in Guan’s art books. D. Cloisonne on exhibition in the Palace Museum. 26. What does the underlined word “glimpse” in paragraph 3 probably mean? A. chance. B. sight. C. skill. D. guidance. 27. Which of the following can best describe the couple? A. Modest and Warm-hearted. B. Generous and Considerate. C. Outgoing and Dedicated. D. Creative and Determined. C 25. D 26. B 27. 根据文章第二段“Born and raised in Beijing, 35-year-old Li is no stranger to cloisonne, since there were a pair of cloisonne vases in his grandparents’ home. His wife, 34-year-old Guan, who learned to paint as a child and later became a designer after graduating from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, is also familiar with cloisonne, as it appears in her art books. (35岁的李在北京出生长大,他对景泰蓝并不陌生,因为他祖父母家里有一对景泰红花瓶。他的妻子,34岁的关,从小就学会画画,后来从北京服装学院毕业后成为一名设计师,她对景泰蓝也很熟悉,因为景泰蓝出现在她的艺术书中。)”可知,这对夫妇都熟悉景泰蓝。故选C。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第三段““We learned cloisonne after seeing the pieces displayed in the Palace Museum. We wanted to turn our hobby into a career, so that people could enjoy and learn to make the craft themselves,” said Li, who worked in a finance company before quitting his job to launch Handcraft Addicted, a DIY workshop where participants can make cloisonne. 根据第三段““We learned cloisonne after seeing the pieces displayed in the Palace Museum. We wanted to turn our hobby into a career, so that people could enjoy and learn to make the craft themselves,” said Li, who worked in a finance company before quitting his job to launch Handcraft Addicted, a DIY workshop where participants can make cloisonne. 根据文章第二段“As a result of their visit, the couple made the daring decision to open a workshop. (由于他们的访问,这对夫妇做出了开设工作室的大胆决定。)”和第三段““We learned cloisonne after seeing the pieces displayed in the Palace Museum. We wanted to turn our hobby into a career, so that people could enjoy and learn to make the craft themselves,” said Li, who worked in a finance company before quitting his job to launch Handcraft Addicted, a DIY workshop where participants can make cloisonne. (李说:“我们在参观了故宫博物院展出的景泰蓝作品后,便开始学习制作景泰蓝。我们希望将自己的爱好转化为一份职业,这样人们不仅可以欣赏到景泰蓝工艺,还能亲自学习制作。” 李此前在一家金融公司工作,后来辞职创办了 “手艺上瘾”DIY工作室,参与者可以在那里制作景泰蓝。)”以及文章第四段“Instead of focusing on making traditional cloisonne objects, such as plates and vases, the workshop allows participants to create the designs they want on surface of glass, resin (树脂) or wood. D。 C In July 2024, a pod of 77 pilot whales washed up on a beach in Orkney, Scotland. It was the largest mass stranding (搁浅) of whales in Scotland for decades. Scientists don’t know exactly why whales beach themselves. One theory is that climate change is driving whales’ food closer to the shoreline, where they then get stuck as the tide goes out. If a single animal is found, it is usually because it is sick or has been injured. In the Orkney stranding, 12 of the whales were still alive when they became beached. When this happens, marine organizations assess whether a whale can be safely refloated. Professionals and members of the community often come together, cover the animal in wet sheets and pour buckets of water over it, though not the blowhole, until the animal drifts back out to the ocean. Though it’s not always a happy ending. For those that don’t survive, a post examination on the dead ones is often carried out. Dr Brownlow of the Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme told the BBC that these can reveal a lot about the whale’s life and the reasons why it was beached. In 2024, a very rare species of whale turned up on a beach in New Zealand-a spade-toothed whale. While this is sad, the huge carcass (遗骸) was collected in order to help researchers acquire new information about the species. Some beached whales that don’t survive have their skeletons sent to museums, while many others are returned to the water. This ensures the marine environment benefits because whale carcasses give off many nutrients. “When they fall and die and sink to the bottom of the ocean, they form these little nutrient-rich islands that can support a huge diversity of life,” says Dr Brownlow. The more research that can be done, the better. For now, we can only do what we can to keep our oceans clean and safe. 28. What was surprising about the Orkney whale stranding? A. Dozens of whales were beached. B. The whale was huge and dying. C. Climate change drove the whales to escape. D. Whales’ food existed on the shoreline. 29. What do professionals avoid doing when refloating a whale? A. Coming together to assess the situation of the whales. B. Covering the animal in wet sheets and pour water. C. Pouring water into the blowhole. D. Using buckets of water to save the whales. 30. Why many dead whales are returned to the water? A. To promote the quality of fresh water. B. To supply nutrients to the ocean. C. To lighten the pollution problems. D. To meet other whales’ needs. 31. What can NOT we infer from the passage? A. People should realize the importance of protecting the ocean. B. It’s unclear why whales beach themselves on the shoreline. C. Most stranding whales are sent to the museums to be exhibited. D. There is still a long way to go about the research on the whales. A 29. C 30. B 31. 根据文章第一段“In July 2024, a pod of 77 pilot whales washed up on a beach in Orkney, Scotland. It was the largest mass stranding(搁浅) of whales in Scotland for decades.(2024年7月,77头领航鲸在苏格兰奥克尼岛的一处海滩上搁浅。这是苏格兰几十年来最大规模的鲸鱼搁浅事件)”可知,奥克尼鲸鱼搁浅事件的惊人之处在于有几十头鲸鱼搁浅。故选A。 根据文章第二段“Professionals and members of the community often come together, cover the animal in wet sheets and pour buckets of water over it, though not the blowhole(专业人士和社区成员通常会聚集在一起,用湿布覆盖动物,并向其倾倒水桶中的水,但不包括气孔)”可知,专业人士在帮助鲸鱼回到海洋时,避免将水倒入鲸鱼的气孔。 根据文章第四段“This ensures the marine environment benefits because whale carcasses give off many nutrients.(这确保了海洋环境的受益,因为鲸鱼尸体释放出许多营养物质)”可知,许多死去的鲸鱼被送回水中是为了给海洋提供营养。 根据最后一段“Some beached whales that don’t survive have their skeletons sent to museums, while many others are returned to the water.(一些未能幸存的搁浅鲸鱼的骨架被送到了博物馆,而许多其他的则被放回水中。)” C。 D If you have gone to the cinema and watched the popular movie “The Wandering Earth II” recently, you might be impressed by the intelligent computer MOSS. It can make the reasonable decision in the shortest time based on the given conditions. In fact, such strong AI like MOSS does not exist in reality for the time being. However, weaker AI, which replaces human processing in a specific field, has already influenced our daily life. For example, OpenAI, the San Francisco-based startup opened up the language model ChatGPT for public testing in November 2022. Compared with traditional search engines, which display simple results according to searching keywords, ChatGPT can interact with people just like dialoguing, answer professional questions, and also answer follow-up questions. Thanks to its revolutionary user experience, ChatGPT obtained more than one million users just five days after its release. More than a Chatbot, ChatGPT can also realize article creation, code generating and other functions only by requesting. ChatGPT can even write code such as Python, debug (排错) code and generate comments for code just like a professional programmer. It also presented strong capacity in content continuation, literary creation, music creation, etc. It is so powerful that New York City public schools have banned it from their networks and school devices. However, ChatGPT is still far from perfect. Even OpenAI’s CEO once said, “It’s a mistake to be relying on it for anything important right now. It’s a preview of progress. We have lots of work to do on robustness (稳健性) and truthfulness.” Even though AI like ChatGPT still has a long way to go, predictions about how the technology will influence our society are already there. Among the industries that may be most affected by ChatGPT, experts say, are journalism, law and translation. 32. Why is the movie “The Wandering Earth II” mentioned in the first paragraph? A. To prove that the movie is a hit. B. To introduce the topic of the text. C. To show how intelligent MOSS is. D. To advertise the movie. 33. Which statement about ChatGPT will the author probably agree with? A. It makes human-machine interaction more intelligent. B. It can just display simple results content. C. It should be banned from all school networks. D. It’s well-received for its truthfulness. 34. What does the OpenAI’s CEO think of ChatGPT? A. Its stability needs improving. B. Its power is beyond control. C. Its progress needs speeding up. D. Its truthfulness has received rocognition. 35. What is the best title for the text? A. Moss Beats ChatGPT B. ChatGPT Sells Well C. AI Takes Over D. ChatGPT Works 【答案】32. B 33. A 34. A 35. 根据文章第一段“If you have gone to the cinema and watched the popular movie “The Wandering Earth II” recently, you might be impressed by the intelligent computer MOSS. It can make the reasonable decision in the shortest time based on the given conditions. In fact, such strong AI like MOSS does not exist in reality for the time being. (如果你最近去电影院看了热门电影《流浪地球2》,你可能会对智能电脑MOSS印象深刻。它能在给定条件下,在最短的时间内做出合理的决策。事实上,像MOSS这样的强AI目前在现实中还不存在。)”以及第二段首句“However, weak AI, which replaces human processing in a specific field, has already influenced our daily life. If you are suffering from these, here’s a way of losing weight that you can try. ___37___ It involves recording what they consume, and how much. The theory is that when thinking of what you put in your body, you’ll make healthier decisions. Can it really be that easy? There’s no doubt that dietary self-monitoring has been shown to help lose weight. However, not much is known about how long this takes or how often it should be done. Study shows the more often you log your eating, the more weight you might lose. Recently, researchers studied obese individuals in otherwise good health who participated in a 24-week weight control program. ___38___ The findings demonstrated that people who continued to record their food intake daily for 24 weeks lost more weight compared to those who quit noting their intake. ___39___ In comparison, those who recorded less daily lost less weight. Researchers noted people might have greater success with weight loss if they recorded their dietary intake about three times a day, rather than recording all of their meals in one sitting. ___40___ Dietary self-monitoring can be performed in different ways — using an online program, using a pencil or using smart-phone applications. It is important to find what works for you. A. Dietary “self-monitoring” is a common strategy. B. They recorded their daily dietary intake using an online program. C. Daily dietary intake is a very crucial factor. D. Dietary self-monitoring can be complex. E. A good principle to follow may be “write when you bite.” F. Obese people are at increased risk of many serious diseases. G. People who lost at least 10% of their weight recorded their food intake about 3 times a day. 【答案】36. F 37. A 38. B 39. G 40. E 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了一个可以尝试的减肥方法。 【36题详解】 空格后的句子“Obesity is also associated with a lower life quality and poor mental health. (肥胖还与较低的生活质量和较差的心理健康有关。)”是说肥胖会影响生活质量和心理健康,根据句中的also可知,空格处的句子也应该是说肥胖的不良影响,所以,F项“Obese people are at increased risk of many serious diseases. (肥胖人群罹患许多严重疾病的风险增加)”填入空格处,符合语境。故选F项。 【37题详解】 上文的句子“If you are suffering from these, here’s a way of losing weight that you can try. (如果你正遭受这些折磨,这里有一个你可以尝试的减肥方法。)”提到一个可以尝试的减肥方法,空格处的句子应该接着说这种方法是什么。所以,A项“Dietary “self-monitoring” is a common strategy. (饮食“自我监控”是一种常见的策略)”填入空格处,符合语境。故选A项。 【38题详解】 根据下文的研究结果“The findings demonstrated that people who continued to record their food intake daily for 24 weeks lost more weight compared to those who quit noting their intake. (研究结果表明,那些连续24周每天记录食物摄入量的人比那些不再记录食物摄入量的人减掉了更多的体重。)”可知,空格处的句子应该提到,被研究对象每天记录食物摄入量的事,所以,B项“They recorded their daily dietary intake using an online program. (他们使用一个在线程序记录了他们每天的饮食摄入量)”填入空格处,符合语境。故选B项。 【39题详解】 根据上文“The findings demonstrated that people who continued to record their food intake daily for 24 weeks lost more weight compared to those who quit noting their intake.(研究结果表明,连续24周每天记录食物摄入量的人比不记录摄入量的人减掉的体重更多)”根据下文“In comparison, those who recorded less daily lost less weight.(相比之下,那些每天记录较少的人减掉的体重较少)”可知,选项承接上下文具体说明减肥的过程。G选项“People who lost at least 10% of their weight recorded their food intake about 3 times a day. (那些体重减轻至少10%的人每天记录三次食物摄入量)”符合语境。故选G项。 【40题详解】 根据上文的句子“Researchers noted people might have greater success with weight loss if they recorded their dietary intake about three times a day, rather than recording all of their meals in one sitting. (研究人员指出,如果人们每天记录三次他们的饮食摄入,而不是一次记录所有的食物,他们可能会在减肥方面取得更大的成功。)”可知,记录事物摄入量的最好的方法是每天分三次记录,也就是三餐的时候记录。所以,E项“A good principle to follow may be “write when you bite” (一个可以遵循的原则是“吃饭的时候就记录”)”填入空格处,和上文的句子是顺接关系。故选E项。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 I was sitting beside Tim in my art class when Mr. Phoenix declared a new assignment. I’d been telling my best friend Missi a silly story and had spun around in the living room when I heard that sound and froze. When I looked down at the carpet, it was covered with pieces of sparkling red, pink and clear glass. Missi said, “Oh, no, not the vase.” “Why? What did I do?” My face reddened. “Abby, that glass vase was one of the few items my relatives brought when they came to America,” Missi replied nervously. “If you’d broken anything else in the apartment, I would’ve gladly said I did it. But you’re going to have to tell my mom that it was your fault, and she’s going to be really mad.” I was terrified. I’d destroyed a priceless family heirloom (传家宝). Why did I have to spin around like that? We gathered up the shattered pieces. I kept saying that maybe it could be fixed, but Missi said gently it didn’t look possible. I insisted we keep the pieces. The glass was so fragile, like a colourful, swirly light bulb had exploded. Some of it broke even more as we tried to sweep it up carefully. Missi said her mom would be home by six. My stomach was in knots. Would her mom yell at me or punish me? Would she tell me I couldn’t stay in their apartment for the weekend? I couldn’t stop playing the fifteen seconds over in my mind, me spinning fast and the sound of glass crashing. The only thing I could think of to say was “I’m sorry.” A couple of minutes after six we heard a key turn in the door. Her mom was home. Right from the start, we could see she was in a good mood. “Hello! It’s hot today. I want to treat you girls to that frozen yogurt I know you like, let’s go! ” her mom said. She pointed at the open door. 注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 “Before that, I need to tell you something.” I said. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hearing my apology, Missi’s mother burst into laughter. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 “Before that, I need to tell you something,” I said. I hesitantly explained how I had accidentally broken the treasured family heirloom. Holding back tears, I apologized sincerely and told her about our attempts to glue the shattered pieces. Missi added her explanation, confirming the details and emphasizing that it was an honest mistake. She also tried to take responsibility and expressed regret for being too focused on the story to remind me of the vase. Hearing my apology, Missi’s mother burst into laughter. “I understand that it was an accident, and I appreciate your honesty,” she said. “As that vase held great sentimental value for our family, I replaced it with a copy before. Something that important and precious should be carefully preserved, right? The original lies in a safe case in my room.” I was so relieved that I burst into tears. Missi’s mom offered gentle comfort and praised for my honesty. Even though it turned out to be a false alarm, I still learned a valuable lesson regarding the importance of taking responsibility for my actions. 词汇激活 行为类 ①解释:explain /illustrate ②强调:emphasize /stress ③提供:offer/provide 情绪类 ①真诚地:genuinely /sincerely ②宽慰的:relieved/ comforting 【点睛】[高分句型1] Missi added her explanation, confirming the details and emphasizing that it was an honest mistake.(运用了that引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2] I was so relieved that I burst into tears. When might the woman’s party be held? 21. Petit Piton is taller and steeper than Gros Piton. D Zhangye National Geopark is located in Gansu province. B About eight years ago, Li Jinglong and Guan Dian visited the Palace Museum in Beijing. C In July 2024, a pod of 77 pilot whales washed up on a beach in Orkney, Scotland. Some beached whales that don’t survive have their skeletons sent to museums while many others are returned to the water. D If you have gone to the cinema and watched the popular movie “The Wandering Earth II” recently, you might be impressed by the intelligent computer MOSS. ChatGPT Works 第二节 (共5 小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 About 40% adults and 19% children in the US are obese (肥胖的). ___36___ Obesity is also associated with a lower life quality and poor mental health. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
