分享植物园志愿者经历
Dear Chris,
I’d like to share with you the voluntary work I did this
summer in the botanical garden of my city. I applied to
work for the garden in advance. Then I completed the
required training online at my convenience before I began
volunteering. I worked mainly as a guide, leading tours,
answering questions, and providing interpretation for
foreign tourists. At the weekend, I participated in hands-on
(动手的;实际操作的) gardening activities, such as
watering and weeding(除草).
This experience offered me a good opportunity to
improve my communication skills. Moreover, I gained a
greater appreciation of the role that plants play in

maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
I look forward to your coming here and showing you
around this garden.
Yours,
Li Hua

分享自然博物研学活动经历
Dear Chris,
How is everything going? I’m writing to tell you about
our class trip to the city’s Natural History Museum last
Friday.
We saw huge dinosaur bones , walked through cool
displays about how the Earth changed ,and listened to the
guest scientist explaining knowledge about “DNA “. It
made me really think about how amazing our planet is and
how we should take care of it.
Being there with my friends made things even better. We
got closer to each other while discovering things
together. Now, I’m extra excited to learn more and help

protect nature.
Best wishes !
Yours,
Li Hua

设计一个自己的博物馆
My museum is called Time Capsule Museum. It mainly
exhibits a wide range of items from different historical
eras.
This museum holds significant importance, enabling us to
have a profound understanding of how people lived in the
bygone(过去的) days and how our society has undergone
remarkable transformations. For instance, we can observe
ancient farming tools and contrast them with today’s
advanced agricultural machinery. We can also explore
ancient clothing styles and compare them to the modern
fashion trends. Moreover, it serves as a reminder for us to
value the present moment while we are striving to create a
brighter future.

Twenty minutes later, the police officer came with a
wrapped present. He walked up, handed me the present,
and wished me a happy birthday. Before I responded, he
paid the mechanic for the repairs and tow. It was at that
moment that I realized why the mechanic told Mom to wait.
He was requested to do so by the police officer who
promised to return to pay him. After carefully inspecting
the repaired vehicle, the officer said to Mom, “I’m sorry
to have kept you waiting so long. The car is working
properly now. You may continue your journey.
With great gratitude, Mom tried to give the $135 back to
the officer. Whatever Mom said, the officer would not take

the money. He told Mom that he knew we didn’t have much
money and that my birthday trip shouldn’t be ruined
because of something we had no control over(对…无法控
制).With these words, he departed (离开)hurriedly. To
this day, I have been grateful for his kindness. Not only
did he save my birthday trip, but he also changed my life.
I always help others when I get a chance and try to instill
(灌输)this concept into my children’s lives.

意外发现窗外有个松鼠巢。老鹰正怒视着巢中的两只小松鼠
Seeing this, Mia started to shake. Apparently, it was
really a hungry eagle there. Her face went pale. She had
never encountered such a situation before. Why does this
happen to me when my family is not at home ?“she
thought. “I need to call them before it’s too late.” She
ran to her phone and called her husband. Mia explained the
situation to her husband, who replied without hesitation ,
“Call the firefighters now!” Mia did so quickly.
Horribly, the eagle began attacking the nest while Mia
waited for the firefighters. Mia stood by the window, not
taking her eyes off the eagle, and kept waving her two
hands hard to frighten the eagle away and shouted at it,“

Don’t attempt to kill the squirrels. They are staying in my
house, not in your house. “ Ignoring Mia’s warnings, the
eagle attacked the squirrels once again. Mia was in despair.
Just then, the firefighters arrived, driving the eagle away
in a friendly way. Finally, the baby squirrels were reunited
with the mother squirrel. Thanks to Mia’s attention , her
guests were saved.

保护海洋
An unreported oil spill flowed silently from distant
equipment. It had begun to pollute the clean waters. Sea
life struggled , their habitats ruined by the black oil. This
new threat, more deadly than the visible litter, tested the
resolve(决心;坚定的信念) of the Ocean Guardians(守护者)
like never before. But as they stood in the face of an even
greater challenge, their determination burned brighter,
fueled by the belief that through unity and innovation, they
could heal the wounds suffered by their valued coastline.
They took a combination of measures. First , they
appealed for stricter regulations on offshore drilling and
enhancing emergency preparedness(做好准备). The Ocean

Guardians also launched a social media campaign, Protect
Our Shores , which attracted international attention and
support. Through fund-raising events, they financed the
development of innovative oil-absorbing technologies. As a
direct result of their firm efforts, the town witnessed not
only the recovery of its marine habitat but also a
heightened sense of environmental responsibility among its
residents, proving that even in the face of great
challenges, determined youths could make a difference
