I must find him. —Sorry. I don’t know. But he was here just now. A. where Tom was B. where has Tom gone C. where Tom is D. where can I find him 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】句意:——你能告诉我汤姆在哪里吗?我必须找到他。——对不起。我不知道。但他刚才在这里。 考查宾语从句。宾语从句使用陈述句语序,排除B/D;结合“Sorry. But COVID-19 is not easy to detect. Many people who catch the virus clearly show signs of being ill, like having a fever or coughing. But many others show no signs at all. These people are “asymptomatic” and they can still pass the virus to others. Now, scientists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a famous American college, have developed a method which can quickly detect whether a person has COVID-19 or not just from the way he or she coughs or speaks. The scientists turned to an AI method known as “deep learning”. In deep learning, computer programs collected a lot of information, analyzed(分析)it and built certain models. The information here was tens of thousands of recordings of coughing and speaking from people who had caught the virus. When the scientists tested their AI models, they found that they could detect 98.5% of the people who caught the virus, including 100% of the asymptomatic people. Brian Subirana, one of the scientists, says, “We think this shows that the way one person produces sound changes when he or she has COVID-19, even if he or she is asymptomatic.” The scientists now want to turn their models into an app that can run on mobile phones. If they are able to do that, it could allow people to quickly and easily check whether they have caught the virus. 31. From the passage, who are asymptomatic people? A. Those who do not cough at all although they catch the virus B. Those who have a high fever when they catch the virus. C. Those who catch the virus but don’t show any signs of being ill D. Those who catch the virus but won’t pass it to any other one. 32. How does the new method work? A. By analyzing a person’s voice. B. By taking a person’s temperature. C. By taking a person to the hospital. D. By asking a person some questions. 33. What does the underlined word “they” refer to? A. the viruses B. the scientists C. the AI models D. the asymptomatic people 34. Where will the AI models be used according to Brian? A. Everywhere. B. On computers. C. In hospitals. D. On mobile phones. 35. What can you read from the passage? A. An AI method can help detect the COVID-19 patients accurately. B. An AI method can help find where the COVID came from. C. COVID-19 is too easy to detect with the help of an AI robot. D. COVID-19 can’t be detected even with the help of an AI robot. 【答案】31. C 32. A 33. C 34. D 35. The one time I wasn't sure of that was on September 11. I usually wake up at 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning. That day, I happened to wake up earlier, I turned on the TV and I saw that a plane had crashed(撞击)into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. My first reaction(反应)was that it was a terrible accident. Then I saw another plane fly into the South Tower and I realized that I was witnessing an act of terrorism. My wife and I spent the day watching the terrible pictures over and over again. When I watched family members looking for their loved ones, the pain in their eyes was something I would never forget. I couldn't understand how something this terrible could have happened. It wasn't until a few weeks after September 11 that I began to see that perhaps some good did come from this tragedy(灾难). People seem different now, more understanding, more tolerant(宽容). Little things that seemed to be such a trouble before are no longer big things. Personally, I am more tolerant than I was. I realize life is too short, and too precious(珍贵的), to let myself get worried over small things. I've learned also that you can't take things for granted. Things change in the blink(眨眼)of an eye. People go to work and don't come back. One moment they're living and the next minute they're not. And, it doesn't matter who you are, there is nothing you can do about it. We never know when our time here will be over, so we all need to make the most of every minute we have. You try to learn from what happened. You can't be used up by it. You can't live by it. All you can do is just live. 36. The word "positive "in the passage probably means________. A. terrible B. bad C. good D. real 37. What did the writer see after he turned on the TV that morning? A. A fire starting B. A plane flying. C. A terrible accident. D. An act of terrorism. 38. From September 11 , the writer has realized that________. A. people should make the most of every minute they have. B. he has become less tolerant towards others. C. he should get worried about little things. D. life is too short to care about others. 39. Which is not one of the differences after September 11? A. People become more tolerant. B. People become more understanding. C. The writer realize life is short and precious. D. The writer get worried over little things. 40. What's the best title(题目)of this passage ? A. A Report about September 11 B. The Tragedy of September 11 C. September 11 and My Family D. There is reason enough to regard them as heroes. President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and many other leaders cared for the heroes and expressed condolence to the heroes’ families and friends. We should remember all the heroes and their spirit, bravery showed in fighting the fire. As the old saying goes: a nation is lost without its memories. Forest fires are common in spring, rules to prevent fires have come out in Liangshan. Many experts believe there are some reasons for forest fires. The first reason is weather change. Warmer and drier weather leads to dangerous fire conditions. Next, lightning is another reason. Dry grass and trees easily catch fire. Finally, hot winds add to the possibility of forest fires. The wind spreads a fire quickly. However, 90% of forest fires are caused by humans, according to a report. Forest fires can burn at over 9000C and reach heights of more than 50 meters. Forest fires can move at speeds of up to 23 kilometers an hour, burning everything—trees, brush, homes, even people... Experts remind people to be careful during the holiday of Qingming, known as Tomb Sweeping Day. Millions of people travel to their homes during the holiday, so the risks of fires in mountains are high. In order to keep the heart-broken lesson in mind, we should stop fires from happening again. 46. According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true? A. All the firefighters who lost their lives were in their twenties. B. About 700 people were sent to put out the fire. C. A sudden change of wind direction led to “a huge fireball”. D. A. the viruses B. the scientists C. the AI models D. the asymptomatic people 34 Where will the AI models be used according to Brian? A. Everywhere. One of the things I always believe is that no matter how bad something is, you can take something positive out of it. A. A.
