Self-talk helps
It can be really awkward (尴尬的) if someone sees you talking to yourself. But don't feel bad about it!Talking to yourself actually has a lot of benefits.
You probably know that thinking is good for the brain. It helps us do things like making plans and managing our feelings. Speaking out loud is like showing this quiet Inner(内在的) speech. It can help us do better in different areas like school, sports and work.
When encouragement comes from oneself, it adds to self-confidence(自信). A 2009 study invited 72tennis players to take part in some matches. Researchers put the players into two groups: one group that said nothing while playing, and the other that talked to themselves while playing. They found that the self-talkers showed more confidence and played better than those in the silent group.
Talking to yourself, especially in the third person, can also help us manage bad feelings. “Referring to(指代) yourself in the third person leads people to think about themselves more similar to how they think about others, "said Jason Moser, a professor from Michigan State University,US. This can help us see things from a different point of view, especially when we' re feeling sad or angry.
Self-talk also helps improve memory. Researchers tested four different ways to memorize things:reading silently, reading aloud, listening to someone else read and listening to a recording of oneself reading. Those who read out loud recalled the information the best, researchers said in their study published (发布) in the journal Memory. It's because the information is likely to become a long-term memory if said out loud.

It is not an easy job to be a good parent. Here I'd like to share something with other parents.
I have learned that little kids are loving dogs. while teenagers are cats. It's easy to be a dog owner. You feed it and train it, and it will put its head on your knee gently. Whenever you call it, it will run to you with great warmth.
Then around age 13, your lovely little puppy turns into a big old cat. When you ask it to come inside,it looks surprised, wondering why you give such an order. It may turn its nose up at the meal you' re serving. When you reach out to touch its head. it will stay away from you, as if trying to hide its own secrets.
The kid now is not a dog any more. It thinks something in a totally different way. It seems so strange.Maybe it even doesn't want to go out with its family members.
You may think that you have done something wrong, because you are the one who raises it and stays with it all the time. Flooded with guilt and fear, you double your efforts to make your pet under your control, but the result always turns out to be disappointing.
Instead of continuing to act like a dog owner, you should learn to behave like a cat owner. Put a dish of food near the door, and let it come to you. But remember that a cat also needs your help and your loveYou need to tell it there is a door which is always open for it.
One day, your grown-up child will walk into the kitchen, give you a big kiss and say, "Let me get those dishes for you.”

Dear Anna,
How is everything going? Have you planned your winter vacation? What about visiting my hometown? My hometown is in Nam Dinh and it is about 90 km southeast of Vietnam's capital, Hanoi. It
is a small but beautiful city.
There are many different ways to travel around Nam Dinh. You can take a bus, taxi or Xich Lo. Istrongly suggest the Xich Lo tour to you. It is a kind of bicycle but it has three wheels. When you travel byXich Lo. you sit in the front of the bicycle and the other man rides the bicycle at the back of it. Many visitors enjoy it because it is cheap and comfortable.
In Nam Dinh, visiting Xuan Thuy National Park is a must. Many birds fly to the south in winter and return to the north in spring every year. Because of their stopovers(中途停留) in the forest of the park, the best time to visit the park is from October to April. In the park, you can take a walk on the islands or take a boat trip to watch the wildlife along the water. Best of all, you don't need to buy a ticket to enter the park.
East or west, home is the best.
Wherever I go and stay,I always miss my hometown. If you come here, you' ll love it, too.
Your friend,
John
