台州高二期末读后续写汇编 3.202201 Isabel sat carefully inserting papers into a folder. She had been at the Gateway Nature Center's office all morning and was weary of filing. She wanted desperately to work with the animals, especially the birds in the center. But her mom, who was the assistant director of the center, said Isabel was too young. "I've been a weekend volunteer this whole school year. I know more about birds than almost anyone else here," she said to herself, recalling as evidence the extensive research she had done reading books and web sites on natural history. Then she sighed. She had never been good at speaking up for herself. Suddenly, the quiet was shattered by Amy Jensen bursting in and letting the door slam. Isabel felt herself shrink. Amy, who had been a volunteer a bit longer than Isabel, walked around as if she were in charge of the place. "Hey, Isabel." she barked, planting a hand on Isabel's shoulder. Isabel willed herself to remain still, though she would have loved to brush Amy's hand off Just then, Isabel's mother rushed into the room with Mr. Garza, the custodian (管理员). "The hurricane is entering the Gulf," she reported. "The Gulf Shore Preserve needs help preparing for the storm. I've got to go down there. You should be okay up here, but I need you girls to help Mr. Garza get the storm shutters down in the aviary (鸟舍). Stay inside with Mr. Garza after you get the storm shutters down." Isabel leaped to her feet, excited to have an opportunity to help the birds. Mr. Garza and the girls worked quickly and were soon back inside, listening to the wind batter and rattle the shutters. When Mr. Garza found an emergency weather report on the computer, a concerned expression crossed his face. "A storm is heading our way," he announced. Amy's eyes widened in horror. Paragraph 1:"The aviary is to be flooded." Isabel though to herself. Paragraph 2:After several hours, Isabel’s mom returned to the center. 参考范文: “The aviary is to be flooded.” Isabel though to herself. She was restless because she knew the birds too well and she was worried that the aviary would be flooded, which would scare the birds. She couldn't wait to tell Mr. Garza that they should protect the chicken aviary from being flooded. But Mr. Garza said it was too dangerous for them to go outside. Isabel ignored Mr. Garza's warning and she rushed out of the office to the aviary. Quickly she got a ladder and plastic sheets and climbed up the ladder to cover one aviary after another with plastic sheets, after which she came back to the office, as wet as a drowned rat. After several hours, Isabel's mom returned to the center. When she entered the office, she saw Isabel, who was drenched. She was concerned about her daughter. Mr. Garza told her what had happened. She was very moved. She was proud of her daughter's brave behavior. At this time, she believed that Isabel was very suitable to work with the animals. What she could do was not just help sort out documents. 4.202101 “When will the Coast Guard get here?"Sydnie asked. “They're coming,” Mac said. “We're just going to float here." After a couple of hours, Mac's prediction seemed to come true. For the next several hours, plane after plane flew overhead, circling in search of the lost pilots. Each time,Mac and Sydnie did what they could to be seen. But each time, the potential rescue plane continued its flight without spotting them. As the sun began to grow dim, Mac's calm began to crack. He became scared. He thought, “We're going to have to spend the night in the water." Sydnie saw the fear on his face. She felt the waves moving southwest.A Hawaiian native,Sydnie knew what all locals know: there is nothing south of Hawaii. She and Mac made the decision quickly, and swam towards Hawaii. By about ten that night, Sydnie's legs began to cramp(抽筋),so she swam with her arms, letting her legs drag behind her. Soon enough, Mac felt even worse. More than eight hours in the water had left him exhausted. He, too, cramped up and began trembling uncontrollably in the cool night air. While Mac had been the one supporting Sydnie in those first few hours, she now took over. Swimming on her stomach, she had Mac wrap his arms around her knees. He rested his head on the back of her legs while they swam. As Sydnie swam, hour after hour, her body was finally done. She had simply run out of power. At a certain point, after struggling for hours, your mind entertains an idea: what if I just gave up? She was reaching that point. Suddenly,Sydnie felt a flash of pain. She gasped (喘气) for air as her body cramped up. Then she fell unconscious. Paragraph 1:Mac watched in terror as Sydnie gradually sank before his eyes.. Paragraph 2:When the sun rose, they had made great progress overnight. 参考范文: Mac watched in terror as Sydnie seemed to disappear before his eyes. "Sydnie!" he yelled, desperately tapping her face. “Sydnie, are you OK?” he asked over and over again, hands clutching Sydnie to keep her head above the surface and feet treading water with all his might. With time dragging terribly, mounting panic and despair submerged him like the tempestuous waves. Finally, he was just about to give up in sheer desperation when Sydnie's eyes fluttered open. Thank goodness! Exhausted, they floated for a while before they somehow found the strength to swim again. When the sun rose, they had made great progress overnight. Unexpectedly greeted by a beautiful sight - the island of Hawaii, green and majestic, they were greatly inspired to go ahead despite their physical exhaustion. Suddenly, they heard the whir of the plane. "It's coming!” Sydnie exclaimed. They waved frantically to make themselves visible against the water. The plane, much to their relief and surprise, banked towards them. Tears blurring their vision and flooding down, they hugged tightly in the water. Alone, either of them would have died. But together, they had made it. 5.202001 Peter walked home from school. Salty tears ran down his cheeks, and his stomach hurt. He didn't know what to do. Nokomis was waiting for him on the front porch. "What's wrong, Biyen?" said Peter's grandmother. Biyen was the Ojibwe(齐佩瓦人) name for Peter. He called her Nokomis, which meant grandmother. Peter looked up. "I have to give a presentation where I talk about a family tradition. I know we have lots of beliefs and customs. Can you remind me of one?” Nokomis smiled and nodded with a smile. "Come with me," she said softly. Peter followed Nokomis. She went to a closet, stretched to reach the top shelf and pulled out a small box. She handed it to Peter, asking him to open it. Peter opened the box. Present before him was a wooden hoop (圈). It was in the shape of a circle. String was woven and twisted around the hoop. It looked like a spider web. A black bead (珠子)sat near the center with feathers hanging from the bottom. Seeing it, Peter wiped away his tears and smiled. "This is a dream catcher?" said Nokomis. "Our people have made these for many years. Circles are symbols of unity and strength. Let's hang it over your bed tonight. It will catch your bad dreams in the web, and your good dreams will fall through the center. Maybe it will give you courage to do your presentation." Looking at Nokomis, Peter asked whether he could take that to school. Nokomis refused because the dream catcher was extremely precious, which meant a lot to her. Peter felt disappointed at her words because he wanted to share the dream catcher with his class. “We could make you one," said Nokomis. "I'd like that!" cried Peter in excitement. Without delay, Nokomis and Peter worked together and they made a dream catcher. Paragraph 1:That night, as Peter looked at the dream catcher over his bed, he had an idea.  Paragraph 2:Thunders of applause exploded after Peter gave the presentation. 参考范文: That night,as Peter looked at the dream catcher over his bed, he had an idea. The next morning, Peter took the dream catcher to the class. Then Peter told them about the tradition about dream catcher and its use to make our dream come true. Thunders of applause exploded after Peter gave the presentation. Some students asked where they could buy such a dream catcher.
