By the end of the period,students will be able to:
1.identify and compare the features and functions of the ing and-ed forms as the predicative and adverbial;
2.practise the usages of the -ing and -ed forms in different contexts;
3.improve their writing by using the-ing and-ed forms as the predicative and adverbial instead of full clauses.

Step I Lead-in
Ask students to share their travel guides of cities in Canada,Present it to the whole class.

Step II Observe and analyse
Ask students to read and observe the sentences. Discuss the function and meaning of each-ing and-ed form.
