Stressed? Writing down a to-do list might help
If you ever struggle to get to sleep, you might find that one of the things that keeps you awake is worrying about just how much you have to do the following day. Those with unfinished tasks are also more likely to find their sleep is disturbed over the weekend. 36 . If you’ve had a lie-in that morning, you might not be as sleepy at bedtime as usual. Tomorrow it will be back to work and time to face all those undone tasks, along with some new ones, no doubt. So, what can you do to stop these persistent worries from keeping you awake?
You could count sheep. You could read a book for a while, taking yourself into a world far away from your worries. You could practice some mindfulness, concentrating on your breathing and the sensations you can detect around you. 37 . Yes, that’s right, I’m suggesting you deliberately bring to mind all the tasks you need to carry out and which are worrying you so much. 38 .
In the case of the written to-do list at bedtime, you are downloading your tasks from your mind to a piece of paper in a way that reduces the need for you to think about them when you’ re trying to get to sleep. And instead of having the tasks swirling around in your head randomly, they are put into some sort of order. 39 , as it were, ready to be dealt with in due course. As an added bonus you don’t have to worry about forgetting them.

In China, the tradition of “putting on autumn fat” by eating rich meals in early autumn is challenged by a new trend at present. Many people now prefer “light food”, also 1 (refer) to as “qingshi”, under the influence of the athletes of the Paris Olympics.

“John Tan! Wake up! You are late!” The loud voice of my mother rang in my ears. “Five more minutes...” I said sleepily, covering my ears with my pillow (枕头). I had a habit of being late for school every morning. Despite the repeated warnings of my discipline master and parents, I found it difficult to change.
“I have no time to drive you to school anymore. I need to get to work. Walk to school by yourself!” my mother said in annoyance as she hurried out of the door. As I was about to close my eyes again, realization hit me — Today I was taking my mathematics test! I glanced at the bedside clock. A minute before 7:30 am. “Oh no! I am going to be late!” I panicked as I jumped out of bed.
I got changed, grabbed my schoolbag and ran out of the house like a bolt of lightning. Just as I was about to run across the road, dark clouds filled the sky, appearing above like a heavy curtain. I dug in my schoolbag anxiously for an umbrella but to my regret, I had not packed one as I was late. Running now, I could see the school gate. Then, the heavens opened and I was wet from head to toe. I glanced at my watch. I was out of breath as I was ten minutes late for school!
What if the examination had already started? What if I was not allowed to sit it because I was late?
A lot of questions flooded my mind at the thought of missing the examination.

(It is+adj.+for sb to do sth.
It is very important for us to protect wild animals.
It is/was+adj.+for sb to do sth. It is very important for us to protect wild animals.
(It is/was+adj. +to do sth.)(汉译英)
As an exchange student, it is interesting to explore the new campus and satisfy your curiosity.
“作为一名交换生”是as an exchange student,根据句意可知,句子描述客观事实,时态用一般现在时,“做某事是很有趣的”用固定句型it is interesting to do sth.,其中it是形式主语,真正的主语是不定式,“探索”是explore,“新校园”是the new campus,“并”用and,“满足你的好奇心”是satisfy your curiosity, explore和satisfy都位于不定式符号to后,因此用原形,因此整句话翻译为“As an exchange student, it is interesting to explore the new campus and satisfy your curiosity”。 As an exchange student, it is interesting to explore the new campus and satisfy your curiosity.

This robot is composed of man-made/synthetic compounds, looking like a real man.
组成”可用固定短语be composed of;“人造化合物”可表示为man-made/synthetic compounds;“看起来”可表示为look like...;“真人”可表示为real man。 This robot is composed of man-made/synthetic compounds, looking like a real man.
(get along)
You will find it (is) hard to get along (well) with new colleagues unless you pay attention to/attend to/see to/watch your words and behaviors/what you say and (what you) do.
You will find it (is) hard to get along (well) with new colleagues;表示“注意”可以为pay attention to/attend to/see to/watch,表示“言行”可以为your words and behaviors/what you say and (what you) do,所以unless从句译为you pay attention to/attend to/see to/watch your words and behaviors/what you say and (what you) do。 You will find it (is) hard to get along (well) with new colleagues unless you pay attention to/attend to/see to/watch your words and behaviors/what you say and (what you) do.

“John Tan!
注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
I rushed towards the examination hall, my heart pounding in my chest. I prayed that I would still be allowed to take the examination. When I reached the door, I took a deep breath and knocked gently on it. The teacher opened the door, looking confused and a little annoyed. I stammered out an apology and explained my situation. To my relief, she let me in, but warned me not to be late again. I quickly took my seat, trying my best to calm myself down. As I looked at the test paper, my mind almost went blank. But I knew I had to focus and do my best.
After the examination, I walked out of the hall with a mixture of relief and regret. I was relieved that I had been able to take the examination, but in the meanwhile felt a little bit regretful for my habit of being late. I didn’t want to miss out on any opportunities because of my lateness or let my laziness ruin my future. So I decided then and there that I would get rid of the bad habit. I would set multiple alarms and make sure to be on time. As I walked home, still wet from the rain, I had faith in my becoming a more responsible and punctual person.
