分析故事情节一般从故事六要素着手,即who, when, where, what, why, how。

I met Gunter on a cold, wet and unforgettable evening in September. I had planned to fly to Vienna and take a bus to Prague for a conference. Due to a big storm, my flight had been delayed by an hour and a half. I touched down in Vienna just 30 minutes before the departure of the last bus to Prague. The moment I got off the plane, I ran like crazy through the airport building and jumped into the first taxi on the rank without a second thought.
That was when I met Gunter. I told him where I was going, but he said he hadn't heard of the bus station. I thought my pronunciation was the problem, so I explained again more slowly, but he still looked confused. When I was about to give up, Gunter fished out his little phone and rang up a friend. After a heated discussion that lasted for what seemed like a century, Gunter put his phone down and started the car.
Finally, with just two minutes to spare we rolled into the bus station. Thankfully, there was a long queue (队列) still waiting to board the bus. Gunter parked the taxi behind the bus, turned around, and looked at me with a big smile on his face. "We made it," he said.
Just then I realised that I had zero cash in my wallet. I flashed him an apologetic smile as I pulled out my Portuguese bankcard. He tried it several times, but the card machine just did not play along. A feeling of helplessness washed over me as I saw the bus queue thinning out.
At this moment, Gunter pointed towards the waiting hall of the bus station. There, at the entrance, was a cash machine. I jumped out of the car, made a mad run for the machine, and popped my card in, only to read the message: "Out of order. Sorry."
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news.

3:At this moment, Gunter pointed towards the waiting hall of the bus station.
I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news. He looked at me in disbelief, asking me what to do. Flashing him another apologetic smile, I begged him for a delayed payment. “If I miss this last bus to Prague, I’ll be late for the conference which is so important that I can’t afford to miss it!” I explained. “May I have your phone number? I will call you and return the money I owe you. I promise I will keep my word or you keep my watch!” I added, handing him my watch as well as my business card. Gunter accepted my business card but rejected my watch. He wrote down his phone number and gave it to me. “Just keep your promise, Sir.” A feeling of gratitude washed over me as I heard his words. Giving him a firm handshake, I jumped out of the car, made a mad run for the bus, and jumped onto it just before its departure.
Four days later, when I was back in Vienna, I called Gunter as promised. He picked me up at the bus station where he had dropped me off four days before. Beaming a warm smile at him, I gave him a big hug the moment I saw him. We chatted happily on the way to the airport. I told him that thanks to his generosity and timely help, everything had gone smoothly. When he stopped his taxi outside the airport, I paid him for the “double car ride”, back and forth from the airport to the bus station, together with a generous tip that he turned down. I also gave him an attractive souvenir I had bought at Prague, which he accepted with delight. We became good friends and kept in touch with each other regularly. I felt blessed to have such a warm-hearted friend like Gunter.
Eva spent the first week of high school trying to keep her head above water. One of the major headaches for her was finding her way in the huge school building. It was a six-story building. On each floor, hallways stretched in four directions, leading to classrooms, laboratories, and teachers’ offices. Somewhere in the building, there was also a library, a cafeteria, and a gym.
Having a poor sense of direction, Eva found it impossible to get around in such a huge building. All the different hallways and rooms were too much to think about, let alone commit to memory. She decided that she would memorize where her classes were and then pretend that the rest of the place didn’t exist.
In her first PE class, Eva was shocked when Coach Pitt announced that everyone had to run one mile around the track outside. She searched the faces of her classmates for signs of panic. There was nothing she feared more than having to run a whole mile. To Eva, “a mile” was used to describe long distances. It was ten miles from her home to her grandfather’s, and that always seemed like a long way, even in a car!
When Coach Pitt blew his whistle (哨子), Eva figured she would be left in the dust. However, while some of her classmates edged ahead, others actually fell behind. ” It’s just the beginning, “she thought. “I’ll come in last for sure. ”
Soon Eva began to breathe hard, with her heart pounding and legs shaking. Feeling desperate, Eva started using a mind trick on herself. She stopped thinking about the word” mile. “Instead, she focused on reaching the shadow cast on the track by an oak tree up ahead. Then she concentrated on jogging to the spot where the track curved (拐弯). After that, she tried to see if she could complete her first lap. One lap turned into two, then three, then four.

Beginning :Eva

Resolution :Eva
Ending :Eva
例:“When Coach Pitt said 'Great work' to her at the finish line, Eva was surprised. She panted, her sides aching, but inside she felt an unexpected surge of pride. Her fear of running the mile had transformed into a tangible achievement.”
例:“Her legs trembled, yet there was an undeniable strength in having pushed through her limits. Each step had been a battle, but as she crossed the finish line, Eva realized that she had overcome more than just physical distance; she had conquered her own doubts.”
This newfound confidence sparked an idea in Eva’s mind, a strategy not just for the track but for another challenge she faced daily – the daunting school building.”
例:“Eva decided to use the same trick to deal with the school building. Just as she had focused on short distances on the track, she began to break down the school's complex layout into smaller, manageable parts.”
例:“She started by memorizing the path to her most frequented classrooms and then added routes to the library and cafeteria. Each day, a new section of the school became familiar territory, reducing her anxiety and building her confidence.”
例:“Through this approach, what once seemed an insurmountable labyrinth became a map she navigated with ease. Eva had not only learned how to find her way through the school, but she had also discovered a powerful lesson in tackling life's challenges – one step at a time.”
When Coach Pitt said “Nice work!” to her at the finish line, Eva was surprised. In the vast expanse of her school, a girl with poor directional skills struggled to navigate and often got lost. One day, during gym class, she observed a unique way to find her way - following the shadows of trees. As the sun cast its rays, the girl noticed how the shadows created patterns on the ground, guiding her path. She took a leap of faith and followed the shadows, surprising herself with each turn and stretch. Her efforts were noticed by the teacher, who praised her innovative thinking.
Eva decided to use the same trick to deal with the school building. She used the shadows to navigate the school hallways, find her classes, and even locate the school's various facilities. This newfound skill not only helped the girl navigate her school but also instilled in her a sense of confidence and adventure. She learned excitedly that with a little creativity and observation, any challenge could be overcome. And with each step she took, she left behind a legacy of inspiration for those who followed in her footsteps, knowing that even without a clear sense of direction, there's always a way to find one's way.
Last summer, Hilda worked as a volunteer with dolphin trainers at a sea life park. Her job was to make sure the tanks were free of any items so that the trainers could train the dolphins to fetch specific items. However, one day after cleaning, one of the dolphins, Maya, presented Hilda with a candy wrapper from the tank. When Katherine, the trainer, saw this, she blamed Hilda for her carelessness. Upset but not discouraged by this event, Hilda decided to do some spying on Maya.
The next morning, Hilda arrived at the park early. She put on her scuba gear (水下呼吸器) and jumped into the tank for her usual, underwater sweep. Finding nothing in the tank, she climbed out of the water just in time to see Katherine jumping in on the other side. After what happened yesterday, Hilda knew what she was doing. She watched as Katherine performed her underwater search, but Hilda wasn’t surprised when she surfaced empty-handed.
During the tank sweeps, Maya had been swimming playfully, but now the dolphin stopped suddenly and swam to the back part of the tank where the filter (过滤) box was located. She stuck her nose down behind the box and then swam away. What was Maya doing back there? Hilda wondered. She jumped back into the water and swam over to take a look behind the box, and her question was answered. Hilda then swam across the tank following Maya’s path and emerged from the water to find Katherine removing her scuba gear. As Katherine turned around, her mouth dropped open. There was Maya at the edge of the tank with a comb (梳子) in her mouth waiting for her treat.
“Maya! Where did you get that?” demanded Katherine, taking the comb and throwing her a fish. “I know where she got it,” declared Hilda climbing out of the tank with a handful of items still wet from their watery, resting place. “What’s all this?” Katherine asked, obviously confused.
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
“This is Maya’s secret,” Hilda said with a big smile.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Now Katherine realized what had been going on.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This is Maya’s secret,” Hilda said with a big smile.
Now Katherine realized what had been going on.
“This is Maya's secret,” Hilda said with a big smile.
How did Hilda reveal the secret?
2.Hilda
1. Seeing the confusion in Katherine's eyes, Hilda gestured for her to put on the scuba gear and once again jump into the tank. Katherine followed closely, eager to see what tricks Hilda had up her sleeve.
2. Hilda reached the back of the tank, pointing at the box and the items outside. Then with great care, she leaned in to grope for something.
3. It didn’t take long before she took out an object and handed it to Katherine. Katherine's eyes widened in astonishment.
Now Katherine realized what had been going on.
Maya?
Her job was to make sure the tanks were free of any items so that the trainers could train the dolphins to fetch specific items.
这样我们就确定情节:let Maya fetch her secret items
3. Katherine
1. After the two emerged from the tank, they exchanged knowing smiles. “I knew it! How come so many small things have been missing lately?” Katherine said, kind of embarrassed for misunderstanding Hilda.
2. But Hilda responded, “She’s just playing a game with us.”
3. “Well, why not have her fetch specific items from the box for the visiting guests?” Katherine exclaimed excitedly.
In the days that followed, Maya enthusiastically presented her secret collection to everyone, the entire sea life park echoing with delighted laughter every day.
“This is Maya’s secret,” Hilda said with a big smile. The truth of the matter, Hilda continued, is that Maya has been secretly collecting items from the tank, hiding them near the filter in the back of the tank. When you train her, she will give you some items so that she can get treats from you. “Really? How do you know that?” Catherine asked in surprise. Hilda laughed and replied, “It took me a long time to discover this secret, too. It’s not easy to follow Maya.”
Now Katherine realized what had been going on. Catherine thought to herself, this is really a clever dolphin. And she said to Hilda, “Well, Maya loves treats, so we’ll work together, and you’ll secretly help her collect a few things and put them in the filter at the back of the tank. I’ll give her treats, the number of which I can increase.” Hilda replied, “Good idea, let’s do it.” From then on, the Sea Life Park is full of warmth and harmony. Maya’s performance in front of the audience is getting better and better.

“We can totally do this!” my friend Sarah shouted excitedly, the smile on her face shining like a diamond as we stepped out of the art studio. “Definitely, we’ve got this in the bag!” I replied enthusiastically, jumping happily on the pavement as the door swung shut behind us. Both of us had just submitted our works for the Annual Art Showcase, an important event that every artist dreamed of being part of.
That Saturday evening, Sarah and I stayed in my living room, refining our submissions. We aimed to demonstrate our creativity, technique and passion for art. I focused on my latest painting—a colorful landscape while Sarah showcased her vivid sculptures. We were determined to impress the judges, our confidence rising high.
After a few days of anxious waiting, a letter arrived in the mail. Heart racing, I tore it open. But as I scanned the page, desperation crashed over me like a huge wave. My name wasn’t on the list of selected artists.
Moments later, I spotted Sarah approaching, laughing and waving a brightly colored envelope. I felt a burst of pain at the sight. She was clearly thrilled and ready to share her good news. Unable to face her joy, I turned away sharply. I just couldn’t bear it: she made it, and I didn’t. Why was life so unfair? Anger and disappointment clouded my vision.
That afternoon, on the bus ride home, I sat alone, staring out of the window and ignoring Sarah’s attempts to chat. When the bus finally pulled up to my stop, I jumped off without a word, my heart heavy. Upon reaching home, I threw the awful letter into my mom’s hands, unable to control my disappointment. I fell onto the sofa, burying my face in the pillows, allowing tears to flow freely. The sweetness of the moment had soured, and I was lost in a storm of sorrow, thinking what this meant for my future in art.

The next day, I decided to avoid seeing Sarah. I took a different route to school and canceled our usual coffee date. I knew Sarah would want to celebrate her success with me, but I couldn’t stand seeing her success when I felt like such a failure. Sarah noticed the change of my attitude towards her and tried to ask me for the reason but I refused her for some excuses. In the following days, the sorrow of failure stayed with me all the time. All this was seen in my mom’s eyes.
At last, my mom came to comfort me, saying it was not Sarah’s fault. She gently reminded me that setbacks are a part of any journey. “Sarah’s achievement doesn’t mean to kill your talent,” she said. “You both have your own paths to follow.” With my mom’s encouragement, I decided to talk to Sarah and make an apology for my narrowness. From that day on, we shared our art dreams again. From the experience, I learned that others’ success should be an inspiration rather than a burden.

“Someday I’m going to Ireland,” my 5-year-old daughter Carrie said. “Well, maybe you can!” I said, having faith in her ambitions. Already she was a hard-working, dependable child. Her chores were performed quickly and skillfully. I knew she had the potential to make her dreams come true. I realized, however, that she would need a good job to pay for the luxury of traveling.
Five years later, when Carrie was ten, a tornado roared through the hills of Tennessee, destroying our dairy (奶牛场), our outbuildings and all our fencing. This disaster completely changed our lives. My husband, Charlie, was disabled by the tornado. He tried to rebuild the dairy but was physically and emotionally unable to resume the 24/7 workload. After trying and failing at several methods of earning income, he decided to become a baker. We purchased a small bakery, fully equipped, and removed it onto our farmland. Unfortunately, the business didn’t go well.
While our family was going through difficult times — emotionally and financially — the dreams and spirit of our kid was not shattered. Carrie was doing well in school, and I smiled the day I read her essay entitled, “Things I would like to do”. Topping the list were these words: I want to go to Ireland someday.
A few years later, Carrie entered high school and during her second year, she enrolled in a German language class. This class occasionally organized an optional trip abroad, usually to Germany. Given our situation, I did not think it was a possible option for Carrie, until she came home from school one day, hardly able to contain her excitement and said, “Mama, you’ll never guess where the class is going.” “Where?” I asked. “To Ireland,” she smiled broadly. “You’re kidding!” I said. “Ireland! Where you’ve always wanted to go!” “But it would probably cost a fortune to go!” she said. I thought she was probably right — it would seem a fortune to us. “Well,” I said hesitantly, “you never know. Ask the teacher what it will cost. It won’t hurt to ask.”

Carrie came home the next day with mixed feelings. She told us that the trip would cost $2,100, and she had two years to prepare for it. “But that’s too much.” She said with a hopeful yet doubting voice. “Well,” I said slowly, “you have two years to earn the money. Maybe you could pay it off in time by trying different ways like doing odd jobs or having yard sales. You could also use the bakery and sell baked goods. Don’t forget the bakery stays idle and you are an excellent cook.” Hearing the words, Carrie jumped with excitement.
Carrie began putting the idea into practice, making a variety of baked goods. Soon, her fried pies became popular and her signature product. She sold them for one dollar each, which meant she would have to fry a lot of pies to pay for the trip. It is hard work but it could be done. Orders began rolling in, and the Ireland fund grew. A feature story by a local newspaper further spurred business, and she earned enough fund. I take pride in my daughter who realized a childhood dream by the delicately fried pies.
