Strawberries look nice, but light pressure can make them out of shape. Nowadays, there are many young people who are just like strawberries. They easily break down when they face difficulties. They don’t know what to do when they are in trouble. They have a common name—strawberry kids.
Why are many students so easy to break down? Parents and schools are a main reason. Parents do almost everything for them in their daily life, while schools care more about their grades instead of developing their personality (个性).
Liu Yue, 13, is from Fujian. His mom hardly criticizes him and he always feels good about himself. When a teacher criticized him strictly, he felt surprised and sad. He began to doubt his ability.
Students should do something to make themselves mentally (心理上地) strong. An expert said, “When you are in trouble, don’t ask for help too quickly. You should try to deal with problems first by yourself. I also advise you to take an active part in sports and social activities. That can make you mentally strong.”
Growing up is not just a happy process. Pains also go along with it. The most important thing is to face the pains bravely and learn from them.
9. Why are many students called “Strawberry kids”?
A. Because they all like to eat strawberries. B. Because light pressure can make them out of shape.
C. Because they easily break down when they face difficulties. D. Because they plant strawberries when they are in trouble.

C. Kids care more about their own grades. D. Parents do almost everything for them.

A. 表扬 B. 批评 C. 支持 D. 鼓励
12. What does the writer advise students to do in the face of pains?
A. Doubt their abilities. B. Face the pains bravely. C. Keep away from the pains. D. Learn from the strawberry kids.
How much time do you spend looking at your smart phone, Pad or computer every day? These electronic devices (设备) help us in many ways, but they may cause health problems, too.
Too much screen time can cause eye tiredness, which leaves your eyes feeling dry, painful and could even affect your eyesight. To help your eyes stay healthy, follow the “20-20-20” rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Your eyes aren’t the only parts of your body that could become worse from using electronic devices. People who type a lot can develop an injury. The repeated movement of typing with fingers can cause pain and lead to losing strength. To avoid this, do this exercise: put a rubber band (橡皮筋) around the tips of your five fingers and open your hand to make the rubber band bigger and wider. Repeat this a few times.
Scientists suggest that electronic devices can hurt your mind too. One of the biggest problems is that using these things can affect your sleep styles. Doctors say the screen light stops you from feeling sleepy. So they advise people not to use electronic devices for at least one hour before trying to sleep.
Another serious danger is Internet addiction. Many people turn to the Internet to get relaxation. They wish to get away from stress, sadness or loneliness. Over time, they might start to depend on the Internet. To stop yourself from falling into this kind of trap, control the amount of time you spend online.
Remember, there is more to life than looking at an electronic screen. Try to use your smart phone or computer in a healthy way.
13. What does the first of the “20-20-20” rule in the passage suggest?
A. How long the break should last.
B. How often you have the break.
C. How far you look at things from you.
D. How many times you need to take a break.
14. What may get worse by using electronic devices too much?
A. Eyes, fingers and mind.
B. Ear, noses and feelings.
C. Eyes, arms and taste.
D. Ear, hands and smell.
15. The underline word “they” in Paragraph 5 refers to ________
A. computer games or Internet.
B. feelings of stress, sadness or loneliness.
C. several serious mind problems.
D. people who have Internet addiction.
16. What is the writer’s purpose to write this passage?
A. Call on people to use electronic devices healthily.
B. Introduce the “20-20-20” rule for people to follow.
C. Tell people to keep away from the electronic devices.
D Advise lonely people to use more electronic devices.

“May we all blessed with longevity.Though miles apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together (但愿人长久,千里共婵娟)”, wrote Su Shi, a poet during the Song Dynasty, in his well-known poem to his younger brother Su Zhe.
The moon is at its brightest on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. On this day, people celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival. It has been enjoying great popularity all over the country. In ancient China, that day was a harvest (收获) festival because crops (庄稼) were harvested during that period. It was a time for relaxation and celebration.
Just like Thanksgiving in Western countries, families also try to get together for the Mid-Autumn Festival in China. Usually, no matter how far away or how busy they are, people will try to return home for the celebration.
The Mid-Autumn has its own special food just as other traditional Chinese holidays. People eat moon cakes with fillings such as sugar and eggs. The round shape of the cake makes it look like the full moon. The full moon and moon cakes stand for family reunion (团聚).
With the beautiful moon up in the sky, people sit together, enjoy the full moon, eat moon cake and fruits, share the stories, and express the best wishes for the family members and friends who live far away.
