The school year began. As the president of the recycling club, Scott was thinking about new activities to encourage other students to become more enthusiastic (热情的) about recycling. His club had helped to recycle a lot of waste for the past five years and he hoped that this year they would do even better.
Scott went home one day and looked online, hoping to find ideas for events the club could organize at school. During his research, he learned that the amount of electronic waste, or e-waste, is increasing rapidly. Scott was unhappy with himself for not noticing this problem sooner. At that moment, he began to make a plan.

Do you know Chang’e? Most of you will answer “yes”. On August 15th of the lunar month, it is one of the traditional festivals—Mid-Autumn Day. Chang’e, in Chinese history, was once the beautiful wife of a hero, Hou Yi. Because of the bad man Pang Meng, she had to leave home and became a lonely goddess (女神) on the moon. Most Chinese know the love story between Chang’e and Hou Yi.
However, Chang’e has a new meaning today. In modern times, Chang’e is the name of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program (中国探月工程) . In 2007, China sent its first lunar probe (探测器) , Chang’e l, to the moon. Through these years, China sent many probes to the beautiful but secret moon.
On November 24th, 2020, China’s Chang’e 5 went to the space and it landed successfully on the Moon. On December 17th, 2020, Chang’e 5 brought the soil and rocks on the moon back to the earth. Just four years later, on June 25th, 2024, Chang’e 6 successfully brought back material which was from an area on the far side of the moon. The material could help scientists learn more about the history of the moon’s insides. Besides, the successful return of Chang’e 6 attracted worldwide attention, it was believed pioneering work.

Four years ago, Rome Leykin was on his way to work. Unluckily he was hit by a car, causing him to lose both of his legs.
But after that, Leykin got a new interest in race. In fact, he was never a big runner. Before his accident, he said he wasn’t really active in sports. He would just sometimes play basketball. But that all arrived when he was at a rehabilitation (康复) center. There, someone introduced him to hand cycling.
“I didn’t know what it was. When I saw it, I thought, ‘Oh, this is great. You don’t even need legs to use it.’ And look at me. I don’t have any,” he said. “So, I got on it, I rode and I fell in love with it right away.”
Within a few months, he finished the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, a 40-mile ride through New York City. After that, he tried his first marathon in 2021. He finished that race in 2 hours and 11 minutes, placing 12th out of 38.
He cycled by hand at least 13.1 miles a couple times a week in marathon preparation. He also spent a lot of time in the gym. His dream is to conquer (征服) the hand cycling world.
