【答案】范文:
Book Recommendation for “The Old Man and the Sea”
The masterpiece The Old Man and the Sea won The Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953. In 1952, It was written by Ernest Hemingway, a famous American writer who devoted himself to writing. Hemingway’s writing features: concise words, memorable images, rich emotions and profound thoughts. There is no doubt that the story mainly tells about an old fisherman, who has been unlucky and always failed to do things. But he isn’t disheartened and keeps on trying and is able to look for victory from defeat. The novel has a say on a philosophy of struggle. I make a conclusion: sometimes the result may be a failure, but we all have to struggle.

If you like poems (诗), the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, US is a good place for you. There is a night table in the middle of the park. A note on it reads, “Take a poem, leave a poem.”
Amanda Barrows, a 31-year-old park ranger (管理员), thought up an idea. She said, “I never thought visitors would love the idea. They left over 100 handwritten poems on the night table in months.”
Three years ago, Barrows began writing poems. She attended a poetry class to keep herself writing. The class asked students to find a way to bring poems into communities. “Why not bring poetry to the city parks where I work?” Barrows thought.
Barrows started her work. A friend of hers provided her with an old night table. Then Barrows filled the drawer (抽屉) at the top with fresh paper and pens and added a box at the bottom for poems. Then she asked her close friends to help her fill the drawer with their favorite poems for people to take. Finally, she put her idea into practice.
Barrows planned to leave the night table in one park for four days before moving it to a new park. “I wanted more people to join in the project,” Barrows said.
