As a student, I used to be most afraid to answer questions in class, and I found that the
students around were just like me. At the beginning of each class, when the teacher asked a
question, I always lowered my head because I was afraid that the teacher saw me. One day, in a
foreign language class, Mr. Black gave us a lesson. He wanted us to be active in class, so he asked
us some questions, but no one answered.
“Let me tell you a story first”, he said. “When I came to the United States to study, the
university often invited famous people to make speeches. Before the beginning of every speech, I
found an interesting thing. The students around me always took a card board folded (折叠的) in
half, wrote their names boldly with the most eye-catching color, and then placed the card board on
the seat. So when the speaker needed the answers from the students, he could see and call a
listener’s name directly.”
“I couldn’t understand that. My classmate told me the speakers were all top people who meant
chances. When your answer was to his surprise, it meant he might give you more chances. In fact, I
really saw a few students got great chances because of that.”
▲ , I understood that the chance would not find you itself. You must show yourself all the
time so that you could find a chance on the card.

27.Which of the following can be put into the “___▲___” in the last Paragraph?
A.So I’m not afraid now
B.After listening to the story
C.Before listening to the story

“Made in China” is having its moment now—and it’s a fashionable one.
The story of Chinese fashion began in 2011 when Feiyue and Huili, the two Chinese sports
shoe brands, suddenly got international attention. Their products were seen all over the world. A
famous Chinese sportswear brand Li Ning was at the New York Fashion Week in September, 2018.
They showed their new designs—sweaters and jackets with Chinese characters.
Shaun Rein, managing director of China Market Research Group, said that the latest Chinese
brands no longer catch customers’ eyes by low price. He told CNN, “They are sure that they can
go head to head with foreign brands.”
Maybe it is because China’s young people are now more confident about their own culture.
They don’t show immediate interest in Western culture any more.
“Today’s young people in China are crazy about Chinese cultural elements (元素),” Jin Qu,
the manager of a clothing shopping website, said at a cultural festival in 2018. “They like these
elements printed on their clothes, even the brand picture of Laoganma in China, which was once
seen as outside of fashion. But now young people are proud of these Chinese symbols.”
In fact, many stars in the West now are interested in Chinese cultural elements in fashion.
Rihanna, a US singer, for example, wore a Chinese red dress to the 2015 Met Gala in New York.
The dress was designed and made by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
“We have to move from making to creating”, Chinese-American designer Aric Chen once told
The New York Times. “We want to replace the words ‘Made in China’ with ‘Designed in China’.”
28.The new designs of a famous Chinese sportswear brand in September, 2018 were ________.
A.sweaters and jackets with English words
B.coats and scarves with American symbols
C.sweaters and jackets with Chinese characters
29.The underlined word “They” in Paragraph 5 refers to “________”.
A.clothes on Jin Qu’s clothing shopping website
B.today’s young people in China

C.directors of some Chinese companies
30.Why does the writer use the example of US singer Rihanna in Paragraph 6?
A.To prove Rihanna is a fashionable celebrity.
B.To show people in the West are fond of Chinese cultural elements.
C.To introduce Chinese designer, Guo Pei.
31.What can be the best title for the passage?
A.Chinese Clothes Brand B.Sports in China. C.Designed in China

It’s common for us to take a train. But have you ever thought of having a special place to study
on the train? This will surely be a very unusual experience.
The train No. 5609/5610, which runs between Chongqing and Xiushan, is a slow train. In
some carriages (车厢), there are no hard seats (硬座) but some desks and chairs next to the
windows. They became bright “study carriages” for passengers in need.
Some other slow trains also have their own bright “study carriages”, including No. 5619/5620
and No. 5633/5634. Many students from nearby schools often take the trains between school and
home at weekends. The trains are their “school buses” and many of them use the travel time to
finish their homework.
On the train No. Z150, which runs between Guiyang and Beijing, 59. a “book bar” carriage
has been welcomed by college students. There are nearly four hundred universities and colleges in
the cities along the rail line, making No. Z150 the first choice for most students. Since 2015, the
train’s dining car has been open at night to provide students with a library and some tea. There
students can enjoy reading and water for free. They even start discussions on some topics in
groups.
These small measures were made to provide a comfortable environment for learners to
continue their studies. And they are well welcomed by many passengers.60.许多学生说设立这样
