Friends and family usually get together to have a nice meal. They put meat and vegetables over an open fire. This gives the meat and vegetables a special taste and they are really delicious. People also put hamburgers or hot dogs on the fire. Potato chips and potato salad are also popular with people. People often drink iced tea, cola or juice when they have a delicious barbecue.
Texas is famous for its barbecue. The barbecue restaurants in Texas are so popular that people have to wait for more than four hours on busy weekends. The restaurants often give people free drinks as gifts for long hours of waiting.

You are having a walk in the neighborhood, listening to your favorite music. Later, you go home. Surprisingly, the music keeps running through your head. You sing it when you do your homework. You hum (哼唱) it when you eat. Why is that? In fact, many people may have the same feeling. This kind of music is called an earworm (耳虫).
What kind of music can be an earworm? It should be simple and easy to sing or hum. Usually, the music is pretty short. A riff (重复乐段) of a song is the easiest to become an earworm. For example, “Twinkle, twinkle, little star”.
Why do people get earworms? Scientists think it may have something to do with our mind. Sometimes when we feel bored, our mind wants something easy and interesting. People are likely to (很可能) get an earworm when they are doing something like walking or doing housework. And there is an interesting fact. Musicians can have earworms more often than other people.
Usually, earworms aren’t bad for us. They go away as time goes. But how to get them out of your head if they make you unhappy? On the one hand, our head can’t do more than one thing at a time. We can do other things, such as reading, talking to others, or watching TV. This can keep our mind busy. Then, we won’t have time to care about the earworms. On the other hand, listening to other songs is also a good way. Some songs do well in controlling (控制) earworms. For example, Happy Birthday to You.
52. According to the passage, earworms are ________.

A. They can control some songs.
B. They usually go away as time goes.
C. They should be pretty long and difficult.
56. What is the writing purpose (目的) of the passage?
A. To show us different kinds of music.
