Can you read? The Foolish Old Man Removed the Mountains Taihang and Wangwu were two big mountains in the south of Jizhou and north of Heyang. They were seven hundred li around, and ten thousand metres high. An old man lived on the north side of the mountains. He was 90 years old. People called him the Foolish Old Man. The Foolish Old Man Removed the Mountains The mountains stood in his way to the south. He was very unhappy. So he said to his family, "Shall we work together to remove (搬掉) the two mountains? Then we can go straight to the south." They agreed to his idea,The Foolish Old Man and his sons began to break rocks and dig earth. They carried the rocks and earth in baskets to the seaside of Bohai. One trip to the sea took them a long time. They left in winter and came back in summer. Another old man lived by the river. People called him the Wise Old Man. He laughed at the Foolish Old Man and said to him, "How unwise you are! You are old and weak. You cannot even pull out a tree from the mountains. How can you remove them?"The Foolish Old Man said, "You don't understand. When I die, there will be my sons, and my sons will have their sons and grandsons. The family will carry on, but the mountains will not grow. Why can't we remove them?" The God of Mountains heard the Foolish Old Man's words. He reported the whole thing to the Heavenly God. The Heavenly Godwas touched (被感动的). He ordered the two sons of Kua'ershi (夸娥氏)to remove the two mountains. 2.Task 1 Number the pictures. Task 2 Answer the following questions. Do you think the Foolish Old Man is foolish? Why or why not? Task 3 Act out the story. Characters: the narrator, the Foolish Old Man, his family, the Wise Old Man, the God of Mountains, the Heavenly God, and the two sons of Kua'ershi. Why did he want to remove the mountains? How big were the mountains? How old was the Foolish Old Man? Was it easy to remove the two mountains? 活动:1. 提出问题,激起学生的阅读兴趣。然后播放故事视频,学生认真观察,并尝试回答问题。 2. 讨论故事内容,保证学生能够理解故事内容。 3. 再次播放故事,学生跟读,提醒学生注意语音及语调。 1.通过听回答问题、读后细致的交流,跟读等活动,保证学生可以理解故事内容,并能正确朗读故事内容。 2.通过表演,使学生内化故事中的语言,提高自己的语言表达能力。 Part 4: Sentences.重点句子。 Step Ⅳ: Sentences. 1. How unwise you are! 你真是愚蠢啊! 此句是 how引导的感叹句。how 是副词,一般用来修饰其后面的形容词或副词。 句型结构: How + 形容词/副词 + 主语 + 谓语动词 + 其他! e.g. How clever the monkey is! How fast that deer runs! 基本掌握本单元重点词汇和句型,了解所包含的语法知识。 Part 4: Grammar. 总结本节课语法知识。 Step V:Grammar. 一般过去时 一般过去时概念:一般过去时表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用。 例句: 1. I watched TV last night. 我昨天晚上看电视。 2. What did you do yesterday? 你昨天做了什么? 3. They went to Beijing last year. 他们去年去了北京。 动词过去式 1. 一般在动词末尾加-ed pull-pulled, cook-cooked 2.以不发音的e结尾的动词,在变为过去式时加-d live-lived, smile-smiled 3.词尾是“辅元辅”的重读闭音节,双写末尾的辅音字母,再加-ed stop-stopped 4.以“辅音字母+y”结尾的用词,变y为i,再加-ed study-studied 基数词变序数词口诀 基变序,有规律, 词尾加上-th, 一二三,特殊记,词尾字母t、d、d, 八去t,九去e, ve要用f替, 遇到整十来结尾,将y变为ie,再加th, 若要遇到几十几,个位变序就可以。 询问可数名词的数量How many ...? 例:-How many crayons can you see? -I can see six crayons. -How many English lessons do you have in a week? -We have two. 归纳总结本节课语法知识。 板书设计: Unit 1What are you looking for?
