Danville B Growing up in a village in eastern Nepal’s Bhojpur Mountains, Mira Rai had dreams far beyond the conventional expectations for Nepali women. The eldest daughter of five children, she was expected to fetch water, tend crops and livestock, and help out at home. By age 12, she stopped attending school regularly, and instead hauled heavy bags of rice up and down steep trails — often barefoot — to trade at the market. It was hard work-but great training for a future trail runner. “As a girl,” Rai recalls, “I would constantly be told to know my place, suppress my voice, and act in a certain manner. For me, breaking free from these traditions itself was a big dream.” Several years ago, Rai’s dream became reality during a run outside Kathmandu when two male trail runners invited her to enter her first trail race, the Kathmandu West Valley Rim 50K. With no prior experience, no special gear, or training and as the only woman in the competition, she astonishingly beat everyone-even the men. From there, a community of supporters came to give her a chance to compete in international trail running competitions. Today, the running world recognizes Rai as a high-elevation trail racing phenomenon. Now she has made it a mission to empower both women and men of Nepal through sports. “We have realized that Nepal has tremendous potential to develop competitive athletes,” she says. “It’s hard to find good role models for young women in our region, especially one coming from the same rural village background as most of the young generation,” says Wasfia Nazreen, a mountain climber from Bangladesh (a country bordered with India). Mira is blazing a trail, not just in terms of being able to speak nationally on gender equality, but by getting young people into running through the new Kathmandu Trail Race Series. “The grit (勇气) and joy she embodies throughout all her hardships and victories is an inspiration to all of us!” Rai, however, remains humble. “I have been ‘able to do the things I did because so many people believed in me and took chances, and I want to give back so others can have a chance just the way I did,” she says. 24.What does Mira Rai’s experience suggest about gender roles in her community? A.They are strictly enforced, with no room for change. B.They can be overcome with determination and support. C.They have little influence on the lives of women in Nepal. D.They are universally accepted and unchallenged. 25.Why did the author decide to include a quote from Wasfia Nazreen in the text? A.To show that Mira Rai’s influence extends beyond Nepal. B.To highlight the struggles of female mountain climbers in Bangladesh. C.To contrast Mira Rai’s achievements with those of other athletes. D.To suggest that trail running is more popular in Bangladesh than in Nepal. 26.What does the underlined word “phenomenon” most closely mean? A.An ordinary and hardworking athlete. B.A debatable and influential figure. C.An inexperienced but lucky athlete. D.An unusual or outstanding person. 27.What central idea does the author express in Mira Rai’s story? A.The importance of sticking to traditional roles in Nepali society. B.The significance of physical training from a young age for athletic success. C.The influence of breaking societal expectations and inspiring ohange. D.The need for better resources in rural Nepali villages. C Astronomers have taken the first ever image of a black hole, which is located in a distant galaxy (星系). The black hole is 500 million trillion km away and was photographed by a network of eight telescopes across the world. It was captured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). The announcement was made in Washington, Brussels, Santiago, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo. Details have been published today in Astrophysical Journal Letters. Prof Heino Falcke, of Radboud University in the Netherlands, who proposed the experiment, told BBC News that the black hole was found in a galaxy called M87. “What we see is larger than the size of our entire Solar System,” he said. “It has a mass 6.5 billion times that of the Sun. And it is one of the heaviest black holes that we think exists. It is an absolute monster, the heavyweight champion of black holes in the Universe.” The image shows an intensely bright “ring of fire”, as Prof Falcke describes it, surrounding a perfectly circular dark hole. The bright halo is caused by very heated gas falling into the hole. The light is brighter than all the billions of other stars in the galaxy combined — which is why it can be seen at such distance from Earth. The edge of the dark circle at the center is the point at which the gas enters the black hole, which is an object that has such a large gravitational pull, not even light can escape. “It is remarkable that the image we observe is so similar to that which we get from our theoretical calculations. So far, it looks like Einstein is correct once again.” said Dr Ziri Younsi, of University College London — who is part of the EHT collaboration. Chinese scientists were involved in the observation through a telescope in Hawaii. They were also highly involved in follow-up data processing and theoretical analysis, said Shen Zhiqiang, head of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shanghai Astronomical Observatory and a member of the EHT international team. Shanghai and Taipei were selected as two of the cities to hold news conferences, together with Washington, Brussels, Santiago and Tokyo, a recognition of China’s contribution. “In the fields of astronomy, radio astronomy, and space astrophysics, China has made a significant contribution to this global project,” Falcke said. 28.What does the underlined word in Para.4 mean? A.Saying hello to somebody. B.A circle of light. C.Not having much distance. D.A hole in something. 29.What can we learn about the black hole from Paragraphs 3 and 4? A.Its large gravitational pull is so strong that light cannot escape. B.The light of its ring is as bright as all the other stars in the galaxy. C.It has a mass 6.5 billion times that of the Moon. D.It is one of the lightest black holes that exists. 30.Which is the role played by Chinese scientists in the experiment? A.Playing an important part. B.Leading the experiment. C.Just processing the data. D.Starting the experiment. 31.Which is the best title for the passage? A.A Book about Black Holes B.How Einstein Discovered a Black Hole C.How a Black Hole Is formed D.First Image of a Black Hole Taken D “Eat together” is a statement that doctors use regularly when they talk with families about maintaining normal weight. Children who eat regular family meals tend to have lower rates of obesity (肥胖). A new study takes a look at why. A team led by Jerica Berge asked the families of 120 children to record eight days of meals. Berge’s team sorted the interactions occurring at the table into two broad groups — those relating to the emotional atmosphere at the meal, such as how much the family members seemed to be enjoying the time together and how many uncomfortable silences occurred, and those involving food specifically, such as how many unpleasant feelings emerged from discussions about food and how much the parents controlled what and how much children ate. Children who were overweight had family meals that included more negative emotional interactions compared to children who weren’t overweight. Their meals tended to have a warmer, more communicative atmosphere. For example, these children were encouraged to eat foods to get stronger or run faster, while heavier children experienced more negative pressures including threats and being made to feel guilty about those who can’t afford to eat three meals a day. If parents talked constantly throughout the meal about food, and lectured the children about homework or attempted to control what the children ate, the youngsters were also more likely to be heavy. Also, the researchers found heavier children tended to have shorter meals. In the meantime, the current data suggests that simply sitting down at the same table at the same time isn’t enough to influence obesity. And it’s up to family doctors to help families understand how to take full advantage of having meals together. 32.On what basis did Berge’s team divide the subjects into two groups? A.Food served at three meals. B.Atmosphere during dinner. C.Conversations in the workaday life. D.Interactions during family meals. 33.What did parents with non-obese children do at the table? A.They told the children to eat to get healthy. B.They talked with the children about homework. C.They asked the children to finish meals quickly. D.They lectured the children about treasuring food. 34.What kind of tip should family doctors offer families? A.Cooking delicious meals. B.Dieting in a healthy manner. C.Making good use of dining together. D.Creating shared conversation topics. 35.What does the passage mainly talk about? A.Obesity spreads across family members. B.More and more children are becoming overweight. C.Parents should give children freedom in food choices. D.Sharing meals with parents reduces obesity in children. We live in a world where we are usually exposed to (接触) news on social media that can be scary, upsetting, or confusing. 36 However, as Mr. Rogers, the beloved host of a children’s show, once said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helpful.’ ” One of the places where we can look for “the helpers” is on social media platforms. 37 For example, Ryan Kaji is a 9-year-old boy who runs the channel Ryan’s World. He makes videos about science experiments and games that are fun and educational for kids. He also donates to charities and causes that he cares about. 38 One problem is finding reliable (可靠) and exact sources of information. Not all content on social media platforms is trustworthy. Some content creators may just want to make money from ads. Therefore, it is important to judge the reliability of the sources before we trust their content. Another challenge is keeping a healthy balance between online and offline activities. Spending too much time online can do harm to our physical health, such as causing headaches or sleep problems. Therefore, it is important to limit our screen time by doing other activities. 39 Looking for helpers on social media can be a valuable way to find hope and comfort in difficulty. 40 Then we will form our own opinions. We can also be helpers ourselves by sharing helpful content on social media that can make a difference in the world. A.We’d better find some topics to talk about with the helper. B.Exercising, reading, and learning art are all good choices. C.Phones and computers have made information easier to gain. D.They offer a lot of content that can educate or support young viewers. E.It enables us to see things from different viewpoints and learn new things. F.However, looking for helpers on social media also comes with some challenges. G.Sometimes, it can be hard to deal with the negative thoughts that these events cause. It happened to me last week. That day, I wanted to place a duck decoy (诱饵) in the lake. I thought it was something 42 to do. I didn’t know that 43 the muddy waters would put my life at risk. When I was 44 in the lake, my legs got stuck in the thick mud. I couldn’t 45 my legs and had to find a way to call for 46 . If it weren’t for my dog, I would have spent 53 time in the cold waters when rescuers tried to make a good plan to reach me. The dog was 54 before I found it. I took it home and kept it. Actually, celebrating my birthday in my grandparents’ home had been a family tradition. As a result, their neighbors, warm-hearted and friendly, were familiar with me. Sometimes, they even came to the house and brought me birthday gifts in person. We took the subway there as usual. When we got off the subway, I found I had lost my bag. The bag was memorable to me because it was given by my parents when I became a senior high school student. It also had some valuable items inside, including an expensive watch a birthday gift from my grandparents. I couldn’t help but cry because the bag meant so much to me.“What’s the matter. Lily?” my mom asked. I told her that I might leave the bag on the subway. Hearing that, she comforted me and said. “We have plenty of time. Let’s talk to the staff (工作人员).” Instantly, my parents reported the situation to the staff at the subway station. A kind worker smiled to me and said. “If someone found it, they would hand it in.” He asked us to wait patiently for a while, and then he called for help. After half an hour, the worker didn’t give us any information. I started to become anxious and lose hope. My father said. “No news is good news.”However, the worker finally apologized to us and let us wait for the information on the recovery of the missing bag at home. We had to go to my grandparents’ house first. In the afternoon, while I, together with my grandparents and my father, was preparing for a birthday party, I heard my mother talking to someone on the phone about my lost bag. My heart was beating violently, and I was expecting something extraordinary to happen. Sure enough, my mother got me to answer the phone, “Good news, Lily. The call is just for you, from the kind worker. He said a girl called Beatrice had sent the bag back.” I felt amazed that the girl’s name is the same as my friend’s in Sydney. I took the phone, and then the voice of the worker who had helped us at the subwaystation came from it. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My family and I were dancing happily when someone knocked at the door. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024-2025学年 高一下学期开学摸底考试卷(新高考通用)02 英语(参考答案) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分 30 分) 1-5 BBCCB 6-10 CBCAC 11-15 BBAAB 16-20 BABCB 第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分) 21-25 DBBBA 26-30 DCBAA 31-35 DDACD 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 36-40 GDFBE 第二部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 41-45 DABCD 46-50 DBBAC 51-55 DCBAD 第二节 (共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分) 56.were spotted 57.locations 58.a 59.taken 60.their 61.traditional 62.has experienced 63.which 64.younger 65.of 第三部分 写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节 (满分15分) Notice In order to help students learn more about agriculture and experience farming life, we are to arrange a visit to Hongxing Farm this Saturday morning. He explained to me that, the kind girl, Beatrice, had picked up my bag on the subway and that she was sorry for not notifying the Lost and Found office in time. I felt infinitely grateful to him and the girl. When I hung up the phone, I circled with excitement. When my father soon fetched the bag, the birthday dinner was ready, and our family was seated at the desk, where we ate, talking and laughing. After dinner, we began to dance to the music. The house was full of harmony and warmth. My family and I were dancing happily when someone knocked at the door. Grandma stopped dancing and went to open the door. She said “It must be a neighbor who wants to give you a gift, Lily.” In a moment, a beautiful girl entered the house with a bunch of flowers. “Happy birthday, Lily.” said she, my best friend, Beatrice. I warmly welcomed her. When she saw the bag on the sofa, she screamed, “The bag looks like the one I picked up this morning.” We confirmed it and thought it was a coincidence. I said with gratitude, “Thanks, Beatrice. 1C n IAIIIICHDI 样1A11B1e1 IA1IBIICJI0) IA1I8I1CIDIE31F1101 立【A1IC11Di IAIIBJICIIDI 32IA1IICJID) IA1IDIICIIDIEJIGI 算二节《清分终分》 D1A1s1tC11参1 IAIIRJICIIDI 91A11sC11D1 移1411s11C1e其etHG1 N [AIBIICIIDI 5【A1IHC1ID M 1A1IBI[C]ID) 14JIR1ICHIDIEJFIIG1 /ok the pleve, ranl tiva近g时oftv wurber加时d an ca dw auhura-rafion crne frow址 IAIIBIICHIDI 塘1A1t每e1HB时 a球1A11nt1c11D1 4n1411s11c111e1tF11g 1A1B1C1D 星 a1AI■tC1IB1 IAII8IIC]ID1 a【a1810公11B 4s1A11每11C11B 31A11n11C11B1 阳 HEAIIBIICIIDI IAIIRJICIID1 IAIIBIICJID 非选择亚(请在各试爵的答题区内作答) 第三那分香言运用(共两节。 1.What are the two speakers talking about? 根据第一段“The eldest daughter of five children, she was expected to fetch water, tend crops and livestock, and help out at home. By age 12, she stopped attending school regularly, and instead hauled heavy bags of rice up and down steep trails — often barefoot — to trade at the market.(作为五个孩子中的大女儿,她被期望去打水,照料庄稼和牲畜,并在家里帮忙。12岁时,她不再按时上学,而是拎着大包大包的大米——经常是光着脚——在陡峭的小路上走来走去,在市场上交易)”以及第二段““As a girl,” Rai recalls, “I would constantly be told to know my place, suppress my voice, and act in a certain manner. For me, breaking free from these traditions itself was a big dream.”(“作为一个女孩,”Rai回忆说,“我经常被告知要知道自己的位置,压抑自己的声音,并以某种方式行事。对我来说,打破这些传统本身就是一个很大的梦想。”)”可知,Mira Rai的经历对她所在社区的性别角色启示了只要有决心和支持,它们就能被克服;故选B。 25.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段““It’s hard to find good role models for young women in our region, especially one coming from the same rural village background as most of the young generation,” says Wasfia Nazreen, a mountain climber from Bangladesh (a country bordered with India). Mira is blazing a trail, not just in terms of being able to speak nationally on gender equality, but by getting young people into running through the new Kathmandu Trail Race Series.(来自孟加拉国(与印度接壤的国家)的登山者Wasfia Nazreen说:“在我们这个地区,很难找到年轻女性的好榜样,尤其是那些与大多数年轻一代来自相同农村背景的女性。”米拉正在开辟一条道路,不仅仅是在全国范围内就性别平等发表讲话,而是通过让年轻人参加新的加德满都越野跑系列)”可知,Wasfia Nazreen是来自孟加拉的登山运动员,她提到Mira Rai 的影响不仅限于尼泊尔,而且也激励了其他国家的年轻人。这表明 Mira的影响力已经超出了尼泊尔,故选A。 26.词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“Today, the running world recognizes Rai as a high-elevation trail racing(今天,跑步界认为Rai是一个高海拔越野跑……)”以及后文“Now she has made it a mission to empower both women and men of Nepal through sports.(现在,她的使命是通过体育运动赋予尼泊尔的女性和男性权力)”可知,文中提到 Mira Rai的使命是通过体育运动赋予尼泊尔的女性和男性权力,推测她在这项运动中的非凡表现。 根据第二段““As a girl,” Rai recalls, “I would constantly be told to know my place, suppress my voice, and act in a certain manner. For me, breaking free from these traditions itself was a big dream.”(“作为一个女孩,”Rai回忆说,“我经常被告知要知道自己的位置,压抑自己的声音,并以某种方式行事。对我来说,打破这些传统本身就是一个很大的梦想。”)”结合文章主要讲述了Mira Rai通过打破社会对性别角色的期望,展现了个人决心和勇气的重要性,并通过运动来赋予其他女性力量。因此,文章的核心思想是打破社会期望并激励变革,故选C。 C Astronomers have taken the first ever image of a black hole, which is located in a distant galaxy (星系). A.A Book about Black Holes B.How Einstein Discovered a Black Hole C.How a Black Hole Is formed D.First Image of a Black Hole Taken 【答案】28.B 29.A 30.A 31.D 【导语】这是一篇新闻报道。 根据划线词上文“The image shows an intensely bright “ring of fire”, as Prof Falcke describes it, surrounding a perfectly circular dark hole.(这张照片显示了一个非常明亮的“火环”,正如Falcke教授所描述的那样,围绕着一个完美的圆形黑洞)”和后文“is caused by very heated gas falling into the hole(是由落入黑洞的高温气体造成的)”可知,照片上的黑洞边缘有一圈明亮的光,这圈光是由落入黑洞的高温气体造成的。 根据第四段中“The edge of the dark circle at the center is the point at which the gas enters the black hole, which is an object that has such a large gravitational pull, not even light can escape.(中心黑色圆形的边缘就是气体被吞入黑洞之处,这里的万有引力非常大,甚至连光线都无法逃脱)”可知,这个黑洞的万有引力非常大,连光线都无法逃脱。故选A。 30. 根据倒数第三段中“Chinese scientists were involved in the observation through a telescope in Hawaii. They were also highly involved in follow-up data processing and theoretical analysis(中国科学家通过夏威夷的望远镜参与了这次观测。他们还高度参与了后续数据处理和理论分析)”和最后一段“In the fields of astronomy, radio astronomy, and space astrophysics, China has made a significant contribution to this global project(在天文学、射电天文学和空间天体物理学领域,中国为这个全球项目做出了重大贡献)”可知,在实验中,中国科学家发挥了重要作用。故选A。 31. 根据全文内容,结合第一段中“Astronomers have taken the first ever image of a black hole, which is located in a distant galaxy (星系).(天文学家首次拍摄到位于遥远星系的黑洞照片)”可知,文章主要介绍了天文学家拍摄到首张黑洞照片,并对黑洞和这张照片进行了详细说明。 D。 D “Eat together” is a statement that doctors use regularly when they talk with families about maintaining normal weight. Let’s talk to the staff Instantly, my parents reported the situation to the staff at the subway station. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My family and I were dancing happily when someone knocked at the door. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 I took the phone, and then the voice of the worker who had helped us at the subwaystation came from it. Kindness is always around us.” 词汇激活 行为类 ①通知:notify/inform ②进入:enter/step in ③尖叫:scream/yelp 情绪类 ①感激的:grateful/appreciative ②善良:kindness/goodness 【点睛】【高分句型1】He explained to me that, the kind girl, Beatrice, had picked up my bag on the subway and that she was sorry for not notifying the Lost and Found office in time.
