Li Chen has introduced an ongoing exchange programme in British Museum to us.
First, there is a lot for visitors to expect to see. Some of the best bronze relics have been brought to put on display. Bronze has an important place in Chinese history. It was used for many purposes, from food containers to important ceremonial items. Some of the relics date back to the Xia and Shang Periods. The beautiful and detailed designs reflect the wisdom and artistic talent of our ancestors.
The programme began in 2015. It aims to promote cultural exchange between nations. Although there are a lot of bronze relics to see, it's a small selection of what the National Museum of China has. Visitors are already amazed by the splendid and long-standing culture of ancient China.
Imagine you are the reporter of the radio, you need to make an oral report about the exhibition the day after the interview. The beginning and the ending are as follows:
Good morning, everyone! I'm the reporter Jim. Yesterday, I went to the new exhibition held in the British museum.
…
If you are interested in the exhibition, don't miss the chance to have a look!
Make a speech .
What have you learnt from this lesson?
What do you think of our ancient cultures?
Discussion
Our ancient cultures are great. The bronze culture shows our ancestors' skills and wisdom. It's part of our nation's identity. Through exchanges, the world can know and admire our culture. I'm proud and we should protect and promote them.
