Today’s Motion (议题)
Students Should Not Be Graded on Their Handwriting
58% Say Yes
I am for the motion. “Don't judge a book by its cover.” It is a suitable saying for this statement.
A kid may not have good handwriting, but he or she could still be very smart. For example, many great scientists’ handwriting is terrible, but they have risen to the top of their fields. Moreover, even some doctors have bad handwriting, but we don’ t care so much about it.

Remember the future. In the future, many jobs won’t be available (可找到的) because of the rise of robots and technology. In the past, you would write a letter and send it. That was like 50 years ago. Now, we have emails. Most of things will be automated (自动化) soon. So is there even a point to having a debate (争论) on handwriting? No, it really won’t matter at all!

42% Say No
Handwriting should decide students’ grades. This is because if your handwriting is bad, the teacher may not understand what you have written even though your answer is correct. So I strongly disagree with this motion. It’ s worth nothing that handwriting doesn't have to be very beautiful, but it can reflect (反映) a student’s attitude (态度) towards his or her studies.

Handwriting is important. It may not play a big part in this modern world, but it’s still very important to many people. In many jobs, more than most people think having good, clear handwriting is necessary. If in school you get graded on your handwriting, then you can improve on it and get a better job in the future. Also, it’s been scientifically shown that children with good handwriting are able to spell and remember things better than children with bad handwriting.

Movies That I Like
When I’m free I love watching movies to relax. My favorite kind of movies are animated ones, and Kung Fu Panda is my top pick.
In Kung Fu Panda, a regular panda named Po learns Kung Fu from his master. At first, he doesn’t have any special skills, but he keeps practicing hard and never gives up. Finally, he becomes really good at Kung Fu and beats Tai Lung. This movie is both funny and meaningful. It teaches me to believe in myself, work hard, and never quit.
Besides animated movies, I also like dramas and comedies. Dramas make me think deeply about life, and comedies bring laughter to my life. No matter what type of movie it is, I appreciate it when it has a good story, interesting characters, and a bit of humor or inspiration.
So, when I want to watch a movie, I usually choose something fun and uplifting, like Kung Fu Panda or any other animated film that makes me feel good.
