Students can understand and use words and expressions related to nature and animals. Students are able to read articles about endangered animals and obtain critical information. 2. Language skills goals Be able to use the comparative level and the highest forms to describe the characteristics and comparison of things. Be able to write a short essay about animals based on the prompts given. Be able to improve oral presentation and cooperation skills through group discussion and presentation. 3. Emotional attitudes and goals Cultivate students' awareness of protecting animals and caring for nature. Stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm in English learning. 二、教学重难点 1. Teaching focus The composition and usage of the comparative and highest levels of adjectives. Reading and understanding about endangered animals. The correct use of the comparative and highest levels in writing. 2. Teaching difficulties Comparative level and highest level changes of irregular adjectives. Clearly and accurately describe animal characteristics and endangered status in English. 三、教学方法 1. Task-based teaching method By assigning various tasks, let the students learn and use the language knowledge in the process of completing the tasks. 2. Scenario teaching method Create scenes related to animals and nature for students to feel and understand the language in a real context. 3. Cooperative learning method Organize students to conduct group cooperative study to cultivate students' cooperation ability and communication consciousness. 四、教学过程 (I)Lead in (2 minutes) 1. Show some beautiful natural scenery pictures and lovely animal pictures, and guide the students to describe the content of the pictures in English.(Stimstudents' interest through pictures, and review the vocabulary related to nature and animals to pave the way for subsequent learning.) For example: Look at this picture. What can you see?The sky is blue and the grass is green. There are some lovely rabbits. 2. Ask the students: Do you like the nature and animals?Why or why not? (IV) Reading training (10 minutes) 1. Let the students read the article "Animals in Danger" and fill in the blanks.(Develop students' reading comprehension ability and the ability to obtain key information.) Animal: Pandas What they feed on: Bamboo Where they live: Forests and mountains of Southwest China Why they are in danger: They have less and less land to live on. Animal: Blue whales What they feed on: The smallest sea animals Where they live: Oceans Why they are in danger: Some people make their ocean home dirty and others kill whales for their meat. Animal: Chinese tigers What they feed on: Small animals Where they live: In the south of China Why they are in danger: Some people kill tigers for their fur and bones. 2. (V) Writing instruction (10 minutes) 1.
