教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Have students read and compare 2 groups of sentences about Sunshine Middle School.
2. Lead in the personal pronoun “it” and have students understand the function of personal pronouns.
Step 2 Exploring the rule
1. Have students read Jack Liu’s two short introductions and circle the personal pronouns.
2. Lead students to tell the differences between subject pronouns and object pronouns.
3. Have students finish a table including all the forms of personal pronouns.
4. Have students learn about 2 special personal pronouns: you, it.
5. Have students work out the rule of subject pronouns.
Step 3 Applying the rules
1. Have students complete the conversation between Simon and Annie and figure out what these subject pronouns refer to.
2. Have students talk with their partners about what they do at school, using the subject form of personal pronouns.
Step 4 Exploring the rules
Have students work out the rule of object pronouns.
Step 5 Applying the rules
1. Have students complete the conversation between Daniel and his grandpa and figure out what these object pronouns refer to.
2. Have students talk with their partners about their new school, teachers and friends, using both the subject form and object form of personal pronouns.
Step 6 Playing a game
Have students use personal pronouns to describe the person or the thing the teacher or the partner mentions.
Step 7 Summary
Have students summarize what they have learnt in this lesson.
Step 8 Homework
Compulsory homework:
1. Finish the exercises on the worksheet.
2. Preview “Pronunciation” on P37.
Optional homework:
Make a guessing card, exchange it with your partner, and guess who he/she is or what it is.
