Key sentences:I live in an apartment across the street from here. 教学难点 Talk about your or others' life now,10 years ago and 10 years from now. 教学过程 教学阶段 教学活动 设计意图 课程 导入 Lead-in: 1.Talk about “what will the future be like?” 2.Enjoy a video and guess :“What’s his job?” T: Yes, he is an astronaut. How did he go to the moon? Yes, he went to the moon by rocket.,and he flew rockets to the moon. Do you know other words of transportation? ( show some words of the transportation through the mind map) 3.Ask students“What do you want to be when you grow up?;Where will you live?;How will you go to work?” 利用视频材料引入本节课主题,引起学生学习兴趣。 新课 展开 Step 1: Learn some new words and finish the task in 1a. Step 2: Write the following words on the board: astronaut, house, apartment, train, rocket, space station, computer programmer. Step 3: Make students divide the words into categories but do not say what these are . Step 4: After students have had time to finish it, elicit from students that there are three categories, and elicit from students the names of the categories and the words that should be placed in each category. Answers: Jobs Transportation Places to live astronaut,computer programmer train, rocket house, apartment, space station Step 5:1b Ask students to think of other words and write them in the chart in la. Teacher may want to have students work in pairs or small groups to add 3 more words to each column. In order to make the activity more exciting, T can tell students that the first pair or group to finish the activity is the winner! Encourage students to actively participate in activities. Students can write their answers on the blackboard. Step6 Pres-listening:1c: 1. T: Now, Another two students Alexis and Joe are talking about their lives too. Let's predict what they are talking about. Can you guess? 2. S: In picture l, maybe they are talking about a photo. In picture 2, Joe will go to other planets, he'll go there by rocket. In picture 3, they may be at the party. Step7 While-listening: 1. Ask students listen to Alexis and Joe,and then number the pictures.(1c) 2. Ask students to listen again and fill in the blanks with the correct verbs in the box.(1d) 3. Let students listen again and repeat. Step8 Post-listening: 1. Ask students t read the tape script. 2. Lead students to summarize Joe’s life in different periods. E.g: 10 years ago :He lived in a house in the country. He took the train to school. In the future: He will be an astronaut. He will fly rockets to the moon. Now: He lives in an apartment. He is a computer programmer. Step9:Group work Divide students into groups of four. Ask them to make a report about what each group member liked to do in the past, what they like to do now and what kind of person they want to be in the future.
