教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
Show a video of birds to arouse students’ interest in birds and lead the topic of birdwatching.
T: What did you see in the video?

T: What did you hear in the video?
S:...
T: How do you feel?
S:...
T: Actually, the video was made by a birdwatcher.
(present “birdwatcher” and “do a birdwatching”)
Step 2 Presentation
Present pictures of six kinds of birds together with key phrases. Make sure all the students can read the names correctly.
Step 3 Practice
1. Match the birds with the descriptions
2. Listen and tick what kind of bird is talked about.
3. Read Part B on page 69 and answer three questions.
Step 4 Production
Make up new conversations like Part B to talk about the favourite bird.
Step 5 Presentation
1. T: Eddie is also interested in watching birds. Do you know what kind of bird? Let’s listen to the tape and answer.
Step 6 Practice
Read after the tape and answer three questions.
Step 7 Production
1. Act out the conversation out with a partner.
2. Show birds are in danger and discuss ways to protect birds.
Step 8 Summary
1. T:We learned about different kinds of birds today.We talked about our favourite birds. We knew that birds are in danger and discussed ways to protect them.
2. Read a poem about birds
Step 9 Homework
1.Describe the birds we learned today.
2.Try to list more ways to protect birds.
3.Know the job of a birdwatcher through the Internet.
