Step 1:Free talk—What is DIY
1. See some pictures about DIY.
2. Summarize the meaning of DIY.
Step 2:Comic strip—How to do DIY I
1. View and guess what happened to Eddie and Hobo.
2. Listen and answer some questions about Eddie and Hobo.
3. Analyze Eddie’s image and the figure of speeches in the passage.
4. Finish a gap-filling exercise about Eddie and Hobo.
Step 3:Welcome to the unit I—How to do DIY II
1. Help Andrew write down the names of tools.
2. Analyze Andrew’s feeling about DIY and his clothes of DIY.
3. Help Eddie find out the usage of different tools.
Step 4:Welcome to the unit II—How to do DIY III
1. Listen to Millie and Suzy’s dialogue and fill in some blanks.
2. Analyse Suzy’s feeling about DIY.
3. Talk about their own DIY stories with each other.
Step 5:Discussion
Discuss in groups of four about why people like or don’t like DIY.
Step 5: Practice
Make wish cards to celebrate the 20th Party Congress.
Step 6: Summary
Summarize the deep meaning of DIY through practicing doing DIY.
