教学设计 课程基本信息 学科 英语 年级 九年级 学期 秋季 课题 Unit 3 Teenage Problems Reading I: What should I do 教学目标 At the end of the class, Ss will be able to 1. 借助思维导图或表格，获取和梳理Millie以及Simon学习生活中所面临的问题及结果； 2. 使用文恩图，分析整合Millie以及Simon所面临问题的共同点以及不同点； 3. 判断Millie与Simon的观点是否正确并向他们提出自己的建议； 4. 采访一个同班同学所面临的问题并予以提出建议。 教学重难点 教学重点： 1. 学生能够通过略读理解求助信的写作目的及格式，了解文章大意； 2. 学生能够通过扫读梳理Millie与Simon遇到的问题，分析其中的共同点与不同点。 教学难点： 1. 学生能够判断Millie和Simon在文章中提出的相关问题并针对不同情形给出建议。 2. 学生能够以小组讨论的形式对同班同学提出建议解决他们的问题。 教学过程 Step I Pre-reading 1. T shows the pictures in Welcome and lets Ss revise what problems students are now facing. T asks Ss: Who / How can they ask for help? 2. T guides Ss to read the lead and find out who has the problem and who they ask for help. Ss learn what a youth worker is. 3. T shows the pictures from both letters and lets Ss guess what kind of problems Simon and Millie may have. Step II While-reading 4. Ss skim the passage and sort out the structure of both letters. (The receiver, the problem, results, doubts and hope, closing, the writer) 5. Ss firstly read Millie’s letter and finish the mind map. 6. Ss read Simon’s letter and finish the reading notes. Step III After-reading 7. T lets Ss summarise the similarities and differences between Millie and Simon’s problems and asks them to fill in a Venn Diagram. 8. Ss work in pairs and provides suggestions for Millie or Simon. 9. Ss finish the exercise on p.39 in the textbook. 10. Ss make an interview with their friends and complete an information card on which they need to record the problem of their friends, the cause, results and suggestions for their friends. 11. The teacher gives Ss some advice on how to deal with the teenage problems generally. 12. Homework: For all: Write a reply letter as Mr Sigmund Friend based on the problem you have discussed in your group.
